I preheated the oven to 450 K, but the tomatoes weren't quite ready yet after 15 minutes. Afterwards I tried 450 °C, and it burned down my house. Did I do something wrong?

After a long hiatus, POM gets WiFi is finnaly back on the frontpage! I thought she was done for good, but apparently, RMN doesn't want to lose it's mascot :D
What are you guys' thought on this? How long will it take for POM to be dethroned again?
Perhaps more genuinely shocking is that Pocket Mirror is about to drop off the front page after 3 straight months of #1 Buzz.
I'm actually feeling a little sad for Me-Patra, and how explosive Pom Gets Wifi became (is?) in popularity.

the continued focus some members have (years later) on the 'deservedness' of literally the most capricious and random type of exposure reflects horribly on them, and they need to pick a better white whale

Dangan Ronpa is a murder mystery game series. The first game of the series was adapted into an anime, and a separate anime called Dangan Ronpa 3 was also developed, as a sort of sequel to the two main games of the series. I'd discourage you from watching the anime adaptation of the first game, but highly encourage you to watch Dangan Ronpa 3 after playing the two games.
Like I said, it's murder mystery, though the Dangan Ronpa 3 anime sort of deviated from this formula. In the games, high school students are locked into a building together and are forced to kill each other without being caught if they want to get out. The other students have to catch the killer in order to not get executed themselves.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

If anyone's ever said anything actually mean to the designer, that's really rude, but if so then I haven't seen it. I don't think anyone has ever actually been upset about Pom Gets Wifi being permanently on the front page, it's just fun to tease the game, because the game itself is so dumb (on purpose!) and because the type of fame it got is also really silly. It's every other game's de facto rival, and because nothing about the game or its success is remotely serious, it's funny to pretend to treat the rivalry as serious.
I could be wrong, there could be jealous dickbags lurking in the shadows who genuinely dislike that the game's famous. But I haven't seen it.
pom gets wifi is my favorite game on rmn because the entire message of the game is to not be the sort of person who gets mad at pom gets wifi existing

The entire message of Pom Gets Wi-Fi is that nothing else matters - not even eternal bliss - if there's no internet. The pursuit of mortal pleasures aren't limited to mortal experiences and end up overtaking immortal places. Pom is the physical manifestation of everything that's wrong in the world, and you have no option but to go along with it. To be frank, it's disgusting.
So yes, it is all about stupid tumblr memes and it's only popular because 3,000+ followers on tumblr and Pewdiepie made it so. I think the sovereignty (mostly unfounded) it's been handed over all of RMN deserves some critique. You can make custom graphics with a flick of the wrist and 10 minutes at the computer, but that doesn't automatically make whatever you're designing good. Pom Gets Wi-Fi is bland and dull to the utmost degree and in no way deserves the recognition it's been given.
From then to now, we all need to blame and beware a celebrity's influence on the market. Don't buy in just because a familiar face tells you to. In that respect, Pom Gets Wi-Fi is the poster child of all that's wrong with commercialism. In some ways, it's even a warning of what made Gamergate such a social monster. People bow down to what they perceive to be their better; they follow the crowd. When influence is used to turn others astray - when popular opinion is used to create a wave to crash on whomever it's directed to - that's when you need to step away and retain your individuality, but you need to be wise enough to see it coming.

Can we get this to happen, please? I think it'd do everyone some good. Like, I'm not even being facetious, let's get Pewdiepie on the horn. He likes short stupid shit, right?
With two big names on the board, it'd help deflect some of the hatred away from Me-Patra, at least.

However, it will not be picked. No memes and appeal to certain groups, big groups, of online people. I guess in that sense Pom has something going for it. And the game DOES have a message exactly pointing to its own subset of fans. It was lucky but Corf is blaming.... what exactly? Everything from GamerGate to commercialism because he is not successful.
Probably would love similar attention though.
Anyway. Pom has a message. It was just lucky or unlucky depending on your views to be picked up that way by PDP.
Should other games be there instead? Sure. Much better games out there deserving attention.
But this is how it goes and you would love the same kind of attention yourself.
