TASTELESS MATERIAL?

This is a provocative request, but please bear with me. The TOS uses the term "tasteless" I believe. What is the most "tasteless" game available for download on this site? I want to know what the established standards are like. I'm not talking about pornographic material, but I know some games have strong language and at least sexual innuendo. If I could check out the most offensive games on here I'd have some idea.
My game in progress implies two characters had sex but you never see any visuals to replicate it as such only text explaining that they had a sexual relationship in the past. This is not done in a dirty, taboo-ish way but expressed maturely and reasonably. Also in my Project Viral 2: Demo release in a stronger sense there are 2 nude sprite zombies which could imply they were sleeping together before the outbreak or were sleeping nude.

I don't think you'll find that kind of tastelessness here as such. Most games here are quite mature in a sense and try their best not to cause any if at all minimal offence and disrespect. The few I can think off none that I can name were either written by immature and people who don't take game development seriously constantly blabbering and talking about disgusting gibberish.

I believe "Morbid" is a term you could use to discover certain games on this site. Not so much with sexual innuendo. These games are bizarre and have strange worlds and plots with often twisted creatures and a weird plot. Sexuality is briefly touched in many games here but not in the sense your quite looking for.
While the genre is completely unrelated, the type of "tastelessness" in a game like Grand Theft Auto is what I was considering. It's the furthest thing from serious, but I would consider it to be playful rather than just outright immature.
I wouldn't consider the kind of think you're talking about in the game you're developing to be tasteless at all; perhaps the medium itself is a bit more prudish on a whole than say, TV.
A few days ago, I saw The New Disciples (Season 1), it was about bashing religion, and has some racism also. I can't say any more about this. I never played this game. I just judged from the comments :)
I'll give it a look, thanks.

Edit: Okay, it looks like a pretty good candidate so far! Thanks for the tip. It was accepted two years ago, hopefully the standards have stayed consistent.
Grand Theft Auto isn't tasteless though, it has themes of violence and gangsterism. You do missions for money. Where's the tastelessness in that. It's very professional even if there are time strong themes of sexual conduct. However it's trying its best to be realistic without going too far. I mean the term "Stupid Malaka" can't be used in public can it because it's offensive but it shows racism at its core even in a jokey way.
I think a game can be made very well and still be "tasteless." A lot of the humor in GTA is based on sexual innuendo and double entendre, but that doesn't mean the game itself isn't professional. South Park is deliberately tasteless but I wouldn't call the show unprofessional, they've certainly improved their craft over the years.
I have never heard that term you speak of so I can't comment to that.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

If your game isn't full of hookers rubbing their tits up and down the thighs of the protagonist while he cruises around in a trailer that runs a mobile abortion clinic out of the back, mass murdering all the black people in the city on behalf of the KKK, you're probably okay.

GTA would be fine, for example. A South Park fan game would probably be fine also. I mean themes of violence, gangsterism, racism and sex appeal are all certainly tasteless, but there's tasteless and then there's tasteless. Ultimately it's up to the staff, but obviously it depends how you present it as much as what's actually there. The only games I know of that were rejected for being tasteless were straight-up pornography. Not games with sex in them - which is fine, primetime TV has sex in it - but actual porno games. I'd say as a rule of thumb, if it wouldn't be allowed on TV before midnight, it's probably not okay.
My game isn't tasteless, but it is mildly disturbing. It's sorta modeled after Earthbound, with the bouncy upbeatness, mirrored by depressing/disturbing backlash. Unlike Earthbound it's high fantasy rather than urban fiction, but there are some pretty messed up things there. Let's see, in the first hour or so (depending on whether you wander around the opening town or head out), there's bounty hunting for animals and people (sometimes a bounty for trivial/horrific reasons, like hunting an elf to eat it or a man because he has horrible fashion sense), crossdressing to enter a building, selling blackmail pictures of said crossdressing (repeatedly, for money), selling animal organs for money (because monsters typically don't carry cash), and beating up a cat. Somewhere in the middle of the game there's an actual tentacle ending, but it's well hidden enough I couldn't really call this a true porn. There's also non-graphic (sprite, no nudity or exposed parts) childbirth, offscreen intercourse (dark screen, moaning SFX), and at least one actual depiction of someone going completely insane and killing everyone. And some stuff that isn't on any censorship radar, but is nonetheless something with potential to disturb children (primal fear stuff).

I'd say it's messed up, but not tasteless. Not yet.

My game will have gore every now then, but not every enemy that gets killed explodes into bloody pieces. If you ever wanted to see Nightowl die in a gruesome way, then it will happen in-game, as few of the characters are based on real-life people, including me. I'll be dead, at least, until I zombify and begin making furburgers.

Oh, and EXPLODING KIDS.
Speaking for all the staff (not really and not at all) I can say that the most tasteless stuff I've ever seen on the site are Sonic fangames. So as long as you stay away from those I think you're okay.

I think the "tasteless" part is there to give some leeway when just kicking out something that is obviously horrible (like Sonic fangames) but doesn't fall into categories like child rape and whatnot.

It's going to be interesting to see how Hollywood handles the fourth Hunger Games movie.

Exploding kids reminds me of how you can kill children in Fallout 2 by using super stimpaks on them.
Use like 5-9 on them, wait for an in-game hour and then the message pops up:
"Orphan succumbs to the adverse effects of drugs"
Drugs are bad m'kay

@Shinan
Last thing I would ever want to see on this site is a Resident Evil-Final Fantasy-Touhou-Sonic crossover. I would instantly give it -1 out of 10.
every enemy that gets killed explodes into bloody pieces

Sounds like Resident Evil or Mega Man...

Oh, and EXPLODING KIDS.

White 'murrican parents won't like that...

I don't know if Sonic fan games are automatically horrible. How many Mario fan games do we have ? :|
I wouldn't call Grand Theft Auto tasteless. What most people dismiss as a game with gratutious violence and guns and hookers is actually a very cleverly written series that focuses a lot of time on satire of Western society, the ills of American culture, and the American dream. A lot of fucked up shit happens in Grand Theft Auto for no reason. But it's also one of the most intelligent game series ever written.

If you're looking for tasteless, as in, fucked up shit for the sake of fucked up shit and nothing else, I'm not sure I'd toss GTA in there.

Not exactly the same as exploding kids, but close. Somehow, giving kids extremely strong medical shots will make them bleed to death after an hour.

"Curtis succumbs to the adverse effects of chems."

Somehow, he can still speak to his treacherous Mr. Nixon doll even though he's dead.
Thanks for all the replies everyone. I was just a little concerned about the warning in the TOS about "tasteless material" but I don't think I'll have too much to worry about.
