You're getting a lot of flack because for some reason people can't post without being vitriolic ever

also because this is an RPGMaker site and he's looking for a tender conversation with strangers about his feelings.

if he had asked how to make his battle system better, there would have been a more positive response.

I wouldn't be so sure about prostitution, though, at least not yet, not anywhere in the world... Tricky subject, that one. xP

Brazillian government is teaching prostitutes english so they can serve strangers at the 2014 world cup.

EDIT:

And well, I have always being a little against it, because... what if they get a disease just for getting money despite of all the preventive methods... that has always worried me. but I guess it is the same as drugs or alcohol in the end.

A Police Officer can die on his/her work. In fact many do so everyday. Many jobs are risky. You'll say that prostitution is a futile job, eh? I don't think anyone holds the right to judge that because futility is relative to people's viewpoints. =]
So it isn't all that bad.

Also SaitenHazard probably came from a strong religious place or something, somewhere full of moralism. I was like that myself until my 14 or so.
And he's searching to debate it because differently from his surroundings, he actually cares about debating and knowing the truth. There are many 40yr olds like this. xD
It's normal, blame humanity's hypocrite moralism.

Well the porn industry is under such heavy scrutiny that they practice the safest sex imaginable. Just think how happy all the porn-detractors would be if it came out that the porn industry was spreading disease. Though even so I do believe that there has been some minor "outbreaks" at some time or another. But there's very regular testing for everything.

And 99% of all "amateur" porn is just regular professional porn. There's companies that specialize in that kind of thing. (There's also companies that specialize in "virgin" porn, I remember listening to an interesting interview with one of those on a podcast)

Also "unsubscribe" is a word. Spell-checkers don't know everything.

we are currently posting in the welp welp subforum.

Damn guys.. some of u need to chill. Its just a question, i dont get why some ppl r getting all theoretical and accusatory at the guy.

I agree w/ cavedog. :/ clearly some ppl r not making him feel welcome, and if all u want, all u need to do is complain to the guy, i think u need a healthier way to deal w/ ur emotions.

Anyway, yea, id say that prostitution/ pornography is a job. And actually, i think i know what u mean OP.
Sometimes its the people doing the jobs that seem a little questionable, but the job itself is really just a job like any other. Like selling drugs, if i had to make a similar comparison-- the people wanting to deal drugs might b questionable to ur point of view, although it is still technically a job. And a job that any of us could have.

It takes courage to say ur honest opinion btw.
It doesn't matter that this is an RPGmaker forum, it's always good to talk about the subtleties of sentiments and human nature.
I know quite a few cases of Rpg Maker-bound dating.
And we are all friends, aren't we? =3c <3

Back at Hacred Sall (a kinda old brazillian RM forum wich only had around 200 users, in comparison to Mundo Rpg Maker wich had around 20,000 @^@) people often went to hang out together, talk about their lives, have fun, play, that kinda stuff.

The fact that this is a Rpg Maker forum doesn't override the fact that we're all human beings.
I've just recently realized that pornography is actually bad for the majority. It puts the mind into a state of perversion. Not only that, the porn-stars have it bad. Some of them were abused, traumatized or became messed up after being a porn-star. I did some research into the porn industry and found that it is connected to human trafficking and drug trafficking. They tend to like to persuade people who are "barely legal" that they will be stars but actually they are given jack shit money for what they do. And also, think about what they do and the diseases they all get. Do the research, it's sick really. So if you masturbating to it, you are pretty much contributing to the sickness that has messed up our society. And I'm not getting radical here, just saying...
It's true, but then again it's true to almost everything. Likely, the clothes you are wearing were sewn by slaves in China.

whoa You guys are hi-chaining without me? That's just not right. :<

I would like to see a pornstars resume.
I know right that's why I don't see the world the same anymore after becoming a researcher. However, the porn industry is far sicker than simple slavery. Trust me, just research it and you'll see for yourself. It's really messed up, you can't even begin to imagine, might even traumatize you if you research it so I suggest if you don't want to get off porn then don't research it. The research will fuck with your head. I'm talking about furies, pedophilia networks, satanic ritualism which are all correlated with pornography. Also statistics prove that most people who watch it will keep stepping it up a little bit. In terms off moving on to something else. For example a straight person may just watch a naked woman, move on to watching the woman having sex with a man, move on to be pervertedly attracted to two people having sex no longer a natural attraction. Then it gets weirder, theres other things to like hentai-cartoon pornography which will mess with your head, you'll probably start seeking more bizarre stuff like animals and before you know it you got people watching all sorts of sick stuff. Porn if not taken seriously to me is like another drug but worse for the masses. It makes them mentally unstable and these people will never ever go and get sex the normal way after they've lost their normality.
Heay, my fianceƩ is pretty messed up exactly because of this and it's the reason of many past relationship problems. That's why I say sex is so much better than porn. =P
But then again, that thing on satanic rituals and porn... Globo, the biggest TV channel here on Brazil, is known for having its biggest stars (soap opera stars, presenters, etc.) practicing black magic rituals. Kidnapping children, torturing and everything, lots of horrible stuff. This actually happens up to today. >_>
People say that's why their famous, that the magic works and whatever, but really they're just inescrupulous. What's worse is that most of those black-magic-hoarding guys are from kids shows... Listen to me, You may think that the porn industry is messed up, but pretty much everything in the world is messed up. Just... Check up on the Deepnet. =P
Actually not, if you like your sanity.
That's why I prefer to remain ignorant to these things. The world is much, much more horrible than anyone of us can ever come to imagine. So it's best to lie in ignorancy. That's how it's meant to be. At least we're not cooperating.
I have no doubt there exists an underground illegal porn industry around the world that delves in all that illegal stuff. And the fact is that in a great number of countries regular porn is illegal probably makes the industry in those countries a bit more... suspect.

But regular commercially available porn, the kind that is available in convenience stores or in specialized shops or whatever probably doesn't suffer very much from these things. I mean sure it's not WITHOUT problems, but the entertainment industry (of which porn is a part of) is full of really weird people doing really weird shit.

The negative effects of porn are often that they set certain expectations on sex which are weird and unreasonable. Just like how romantic comedies set certain expectations on how love is supposed to work. Especially for younger, more impressionable audiences (the kinds that shouldn't be watching porn anyway, but how many don't? really?). I think most responsible adults probably find a "porn level" that is right for them and the whole escalation thing is mostly an exaggeration.

Of course I'm the guy with the rose-tinted glasses because I also disagree with JosepfSeraph. The world is not a horrible place and it is most definitely not worse than we assume. In my rose-tinted world people are generally good and want to help each other and not hurt other people. So I guess I just want to see the positive in everything. Though I can freely admit that some people who get into porn do so because they are unhappy and/or desperate. But there's also lots of people who just enjoy it and get a bit of fame and money. It's probably not a bad life once you get over the social stigma that might be attached to it.
I refrain from thinking about those things. Most of the time I just act like the world is perfect, as well. It's so much happier and productive like this!

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

Let us turn to google for the definition of what constitutes a "job" and "work".

Job: A paid position of regular employment.
Work: Activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result.

By those definitions I would say that not only is pornography a job but so is prostitution. Just because the job in question is not right by someone's moral standards does not make the work any less legitimate.

It should've ended with this.
Well, the world is just that, I guess it depends on the perspective, Since everybody has a reason to act, if you analyze the life of a rapist, someone who commit suicide or whatever other person you think is bad, you will find that he has a lot of things that have made him the way he is and all this things may be a probably a society thing and not much of his fault (of course everybody has to put a little bit of salt of themselves) it may even has some genetic kind of disease. Because of this reason I don't see Hitler so much as a person that should never had existed, since he is a pretty huge example of what humans can do if you trigger certain chain of events. So yes, I have to agree with... everyone you could say so, but it really depends on the person that deals with the pornography, as Shinan says. Someone who doesn't know the limits will eventually go more further and that's is more of an internal issue probably the family being the main reason. But otherwise you will know when to stop. I know a friend who prefers hentai since he says he don't want to contribute with a business were human rights might have been broken, but if you know him without knowing this you would think of this person as a totally normal guy.

you will know when to stop. Why and How, otherwise you are screwed

forgot to add that.
Pornography is an action, not a job.

Running a pornography website and charging for it, is a job.

Sorry, but you're not seeing the distinction. I could post a smutty picture, this is pornographic, but I'm not making money off of it. Until I make money from it, though, it's a hobby.

The government makes arbitrary distinctions on what is or isn't a valid job (what is "legal"). But in the absence of morals (which I don't care about), the only real distinction between a job and a hobby is whether you profit from it.

Is pornography prostitution is a bit of a stupid question, which is heavy with a bunch of trite moral assumptions. They're two separate concepts.

Pornography means to draw/write about sex.
Prostitution is basically selling yourself for money.

Pornography is just taking pictures of people. So no, pornography is not prostitution. Videotaping prostitutes is pornography.
All jobs can also be hobbies.
Sometimes it's a job and sometimes it's slavery.
