Enterbrain’s partnership with Degica on RPG Maker VX Ace has seen a new development: the pairhave developed a new middleware that allows developers to easily and efficiently port RPG Maker games to mobile devices.

What do you guys think of all this?
We can soon terrorize children with smartphones and have them bring RPG Maker games to school.
I can soon bring RPG Maker games to school.
Relatives who say they'll only play your game if they can get it on their phone will now have to own up.
But really, it seems nice. More accessibility and greater ease in distributing.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I was sure this was gonna be a thirty-seventh thread about yet another user's attempt to reverse-engineer the RM2K3 engine for Android. I was ready to just post a big ol' image macro of people in business suits laughing hysterically or something.
This is insanely cool. I don't expect them to go back and make ones for VX and XP, though.
The article makes it sound like this is a thing that already exists but it's not even mentioned on rpgmakerweb.com despite it being the biggest news the company has had in the last ten years. Certainly way bigger news than the release of VX or Ace. What the hell is up with that?

I came here to post this! Coming from somebody who doesn't play games on smartphone, I feel this is *really* interesting and could hold a lot of promise. We'd certainly be reaching a wider audience!
Sounds like there's still some business underway before it will be released, hence no official announcement.

author=LockeZI have heard rumours, but they have been nothing more than rumours. And without seeing any concrete evidence, I am sorry to say this is still a rumour. For now.

I still believe this is coming, though.
Now that you mention it, it is a bit peculiar that there's no source in that article, isn't it? Even the quote they included from Degica doesn't really have anything to do with the topic.
Why must I be making a fangame!
I have to finish the beast sooner than planned now so I can make something original strictly for this.

Hey,
The title on this release is a bit misleading.
We are working on some mobile porting solutions (and will be selling an ios/android version of Undefeated which was made in RPG Maker VX Ace).
There's still a lot of manual work and troubleshooting involved so we are quite far away from a public release of this.
