PIZZA THE PLACE
Posts
I claim this thread in the name of delicious pizzas the world over. Everything I create and all my thoughts will be gathered here, as toppings on the most hangover inducing dish the world has ever known.
I will re-upload the things I canned when I ragequit. As a favor to me, if you're able to guess or remember the actual name of the project in question then keep it on the down-low. I am paranoid about those things (but apparently not about the art?).

You missed the chance to call this The Pizza Place or some other generic pizza shop name.
I do like your spriting~ It's cute~
And that tree (mana tree?) is pretty cool with all the colours. I love the silhouette of it. (And dem clouds~<3)

I can't help it, gotta stick with the naming scheme after all (Pizza The subject). It works better when my username is PizzaTheFace, as it usually is.
Work from today:
I did some prep-pixeling for my Term 1 game project at school, "Minutes to Midnight". A simple repeating background (which I have yet to save from being ruined by Construct 2) and a prototype of Chaplain Preech's (AKA the hero's) sprite.
Also, while I wait for the actual time to begin making Minutes to Midnight, I'm hoping to finish a tiny game in VXAce. I'm talking like 2 dungeons, 4 areas (counting the world map), and a single party member.
EDIT: Before I forget, I also did some illustrations for Minutes to Midnight recently.
A little closeup of Chaplain Preech (his rocking sideburns didn't make the pixel conversion, sadly) and the boss, "The Phantom of the Clocktower".

Looks good. Your style is very reminiscent of earthbound, which you probably heard a couple of times by now.
Y'know I don't think I've ever played one of your games, do you have any completed ones where you made the graphics?

@SnowOwl: I've never finished anything with custom graphics and shit, no. Kind of hard to do by yourself. School is forcing me to change that though, which is really good.
Your work has such style, love it! I agree with the Earthbound-esque feels of some pics. Super unique designs, all around awesome :D Do you ever ink your pencil sketches? I think they'd look pretty beatchin.
Awesome, I love the new (I think) stuff you've made! The pixel scenery is especially gorgeous... It's really enviable how clean yet organic your work is. Those clouds, man.
Have I mentioned before that I love your color palettes?

Love your shit, man.
Awesome pixel work. And you go to school for this? It's something I wanted to do after highschool but I got into interior/exterior painting for the $$$

@Homunculus: I do ink some of the sketches I consider good, but I'm pretty crappy at inking so I still need a lot of practice in that regard. Your pixel art is fantastic by the way, and I really envy your use of warm colours- I found I always shit the bed when it came to browns, oranges, yellows and the like (no pun intended). Also holy shit, you come from New Brunswick? I'm a Newfoundlander! We don't have many people from the maritimes on the site.
@accha: Thank you. I always thought I sucked at palette choices- not necessarily for the colours themselves, but for how everything went with each other. It's good to know that I'm not as bad as I think in that regard.
@InfectionFiles: I started taking school for game design earlier this month, yeah. The college (Toronto Film School/RCC) is fucking fantastic too. The professors are all brilliant in my eyes, so I'm actually happy that it's worth my money. The same can't be said about our classmates, but what can you do? I have a good gam mak community here anyways, fuck them.
@pianotm: And I've always enjoyed your vast knowledge of "fringe" topics. Your various discussions on the subject that crop up now and then have been somewhat of an inspiration to me.

Like SnowOwl, I'd love to play a completed game with your graphics. That, or you can team up with a developer that could use your talent in art, and they can handle the development side of it. I know you were hiring yourself out to anyone and everyone only a little while ago, but maybe you'd be better if you specifically PM'd a prolific developer to match the rate at which you put out this beautiful art? (Which seems to have a pretty quick turnaround!)
I would recommend myself, but that would be quite egotistical. That said, I think any developer would benefit from your help. Great artists are so lucky to be them. Well, that and they put in a crapton of work to become better than everyone else.
Keep doing you. I'm just mad coz you're doing you better than I'm doing me.

Woooorrrrddd! My mom's a Newfie XD I'm surprised, that's 2 Maritimers I've met here so far :D Only other time I met one on an RPG Maker forum was in RRR it turned out one of the other members worked at a tavern that was practically in my apartment's back yard LOL. And thank you kindly! I struggled with colors and earlier this year went on a month long color theory bender, glad to know it's paying off XD Biggest thing I learned was to not be shy with colors, gotta be bold. Which you certainly do, I don't think you give yourself enough credit, your palettes are super rich! If you feel like you struggle with the warms, keep in mind that the struggle pays off cause they look A-1.
@CashmereCat: If you actually have work then PM me the details of the project and stuff. I'm always down to collaborate if its something interesting.
It was a long day a school, but I managed to make the base components of another tileset for Project Fabulous. Still a long way to go.

The patterns are gorgeous and charming! I really like the diagonal line detailing in particular. There's something very modern and fresh about them.
I'm really glad you like the patterns, because ever since I started smoking pot I have been unnaturally obsessed with applying patterns to everything. God help me if I learn to pixel plaid.

Think of basket weaving. Over and under and over and under...now just do it in multicolor! :D
