STAR FALL: A FORUM GAME (IN PLAY)

Posts

I stagger for a second at the unexpected event. Questions and assumptions rushes my mind but I simply doesn't have enough information to even know how blanks I'm trying to fill.

"Well... Sort of" - I answer uneasy while scratching my head - "but it's extremely rare to end up with one."

I was definitely thinking about advising against a one-person-crusade, and to gather allies (Katya?) to help us along. Oh, well.

I can't really think of anything more to say right now.

"Alright Helium, you're telling me I'm in no position to give you advice? You're willing to blow your cover, the instant you get a chance to hurt them? That right there is foolish and stupid. A war isn't won by randomly attacking the enemy when the oportunity shows, it's won through careful planning and precise strikes. Don't let revenge cloud your judgement, I've nothing against helping you, but if you insist on taling choices based on revenge, then you might as well go to CentauriCorp and let yourself be killed, because that is where this path is elading you so far. I once knew someone, who was exactly like you, that person died a pointless death, that didn't bring change to anything.

That aside, I do think we should stop talking and finish our job with Katya. I don't know about the others but you have my support Helium, I detest injustice and corruption with all my being, but please, do try to think things through before you attack CentauriCorp, because once you attack them, ypu have to be ready for their counter attack.

By the way, is any of you still chipped?"

I just stand, listening. The whole thing is confusing, like a very confusing plot on a tv show. Something about corruption and lots of arguing.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

"Chipped?" I ask, and start inspecting my fingernails to make sure they're okay. "No."

I'm more than confused about Ozardel's question.

*Edit: "I agree about finishing our job with Katya, but... chipped? What are you even talking about?"

"I'm feeling chipper and happy, not chipped though..."
Chipped? I think puzzled and can't help but glance at Agnelia afterwards.
Nah it probably don't have anything to do with it, I try to toss the thought aside.

"Either way, I agree on finishing the job with... Katya - I delay saying the name as if I had to remember it - and limit the actions about RiCorp to only watching our backs for now, I get a bad feeling that we will cross paths with those folks sooner rather than later either way.

Seeing the reactions of my teammates puts my mind at ease considerably. A grin appears on my face as I respond:

"Heh. So that's what you're worried about, Ozardel? You really got my point wrong, dude. Exposing myself or getting myself killed are the biggest favours I can do CentauriCorp, so that's not gonna happen. No worries. I've never been the type to go in guns blazing. Sneaking in behind the scenes and breaking the important things where no one sees the damage until it's too late, now that's the way you do it.

Glad to hear I got your support, though. Thanks, buddy. But, eh, what d'ya mean by 'chipped,' anyway?"

Ozardel is the only one I mentioned being chipped to, because his flavor was the only one it was relevant to at the time. "Chipped" means having a computer chip implant that carries your relevant information (ID, ownership titles, banking information). It's optional, and easier than carrying a bunch of plastic cards around.

It's not specifically important to the game, but if you're worried about it, people like Rylah, Agnelia, and Helium likely won't be chipped while Lintis, Chloe, and Lynx likely will be, if they so choose. Chips do not act as tracking devices (except that it will be logged at each location you use them, but that goes same for physical IDs and credits), that it's known, though it's rumored that some tech savvy con artists have found a way of using them as such.

"Well, if ya have any chip implant to facilitate interactions that require your ID. It'll be easier to keep a low profile if we use fake ID's rather than a chip that tells someone who you really are."
`Oooh that chip` I recall myself out of the worst-case scenarios.

"Sounds like a nice cover up, but will hardly stick for long unless we can get our ships registered under the same cover up name."

//Lynx probably would have one, he's too "yup, whatever" to carry a bundle of plastic stuff without losing/forgetting one somewhere in the way. Or in his own locker.

Well, it seems like some of you are ready to move on, so here's our list.

The Scuttled Hull (Local Tavern)
Space Cadet Outfitters (For all of your starship/fighter needs)
The Pirate's Guild (Because Rylah is in your party)
Palius Traders Unlimited (Where Lintis can sell his iron and everyone can buy more cargo: There's an event coming up--I recommend you keep the Gauntlet hold empty until then)
The Miner's Forum (If you're curious, you'll have to see.)

All: The comm on the wall makes an obnoxious noise and flashes. It has to be for you because the call is searching for ship IDs. It wouldn't have pinged here if it wasn't calling you. Lintis, Ozzy, Agnelia, Chloe, Helium, and Rylah pull out their ship access keys. Each of them is flashing, indicating incoming communication. One of you answers it. "I'm Captain Bascar. I'm the merchant captain Katya has you escorting to Aldus Prime. When you're ready, contact me at the space dock."

"Nah, I'd have to be crazy to walk around with an implanted name tag like that. Don't wanna make it too easy to track me down, right?

Anyway, some of ya might wanna get your ships repaired after that space fight we had. I'm ready to go when you are."

P.S.:

The Scuttled Hull (Local Tavern) (Because Rylah is in your party)

Fixed that for you.
"Got mine waaay back at the new-earth army after losing my ID during an ejection, the case were a little problematic and I never liked carrying the darn cards to boot." - shrugged - "Either way, I'm ready when you guys are."

I feel like it might be beneficial in some cases for a merc like me to not be chipped. If the likelihood is as high as piano says, though, I probably am.

Anyway, I want to go to The Scuttled Hull and look into rumors regarding what cargo we can make a profit on from here to Aldus Prime. Then, once I think I have a good lead, conduct business at Palius Traders Unlimited.

Speaking of repairs, what ships need them, and how much would they cost?

Who would put an ID card under their skin? Sounds painful. I guess it would be harder to steal. I pull out my collection of stolen IDs and pick one. "Leeloo Dallas. Multi-pass."

I'll just follow Lintis around for now.
