BB CODE ISN'T WORKING

Posts

Hi guys!

I submitted a game today and was messing around with it all day because I couldn't get the bb code to work. I can't make paragraphs, can't make texts in italic, bold, can't embed images and so on.

Obviously, I can do it here on a forum, but not on my game page.

But if instead of the bb code I use XML - everything works.

Just wanted to bring it to your attention.

Thank you

Upd1: just now the XML stopped working and BB code works again. Weird.
Sorry for confusion.

Upd2: BB code doesn't work again, I'm stoked. Please help, as I can't get my page to work properly :)
Some code for BBC doesn't work since it's not set up to allow it but the basics should work just fine. Gotta use the ol' bracket-based code though.
for example:

[b][/b]
[i][/i]
[u][/u]
[s][/s]
etc

CSS works in the CSS section of your game page (right at the bottom of the 'Manage game page' section).

Don't forget to hard refresh for changes to show up~

I did a check. Justification tags don't work, iirc. Seems you're using them. Try just having left align instead.
Thanks for responding.

I'm trying to use pretty basic code, like in your example - does not work. It doesn't even make a paragraph when I hit "enter" in the editor. And I tried on different computers, too.

The first paragraph is edited with html, second - bbc that doesn't work. After a while it may get reversed.
Ok, I did find what's messing with the code - for some reason bbc stops working when I try to embed the Youtube video.
I guess I can live with that :)
The youtube link needs to be a youtube.com link, youtu.be won't work. Example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75nMJZa46tM

works but if you put the youtube tags around the 'share' url of:
https://youtu.be/75nMJZa46tM

the bbc parser has a stroke and die or something horrible and everything blows up.

Gotcha!
Thank you!
It's like a grab-bag of fun with every post! What will go wrong this time? Who knows?! :DDD
FUN!

(Okay, it's not quite that bad, just certain things set it off... like quotes/videos/etc inside hide tags. It does NOT like that.)
As long as you guys are having fun :p

Anyways, thanks for help.
Sorry for highjacking the thread but I can't create new threads. I always get the comment "No robots allowed" even if I tick the "I am not a robot" box.

(I remember someone else had that issue, I think it was Kory? I'm not sure)

Also the Spoilers BBcode has been nothing but trouble, especially with Quotes haha >.>

Correct.
I tried logging off and logging in but it still doesn't work.
Have you tried different browsers? I believe that was what anky recommended to Kory.
