[RMVXACE] LOOKING TO FORM A TEAM
Posts
Please delete this if this is not allowed. I read the rules and thought it was okay to.
Anyways,
Hello I am a newbie at making games and am looking to make a team for future games. My studio name is Kirakirawings. Right now I am working on one game called Angel Plus that I started last year and is a visual novel that will be released sometime this year and I am the artist for the characters, with 3 people working on it. But after this game I want to move to rpg games being different genres and want a serious game loving team to join, so here's what I need:
programmer/scripter/coder for rpgmakervxace
tileset artist
writer
mapper
puzzle designer
The games will be free or paid depending on the game so you'll be working both for free or be paid. For paid the earnings will be either split if possible or you get a percentage of the profits. The next game I am probably going to make is a horror rpg like ib, mad father, Nightmare of the snow, corpse party, Blank Dream, re;member, Utopia, etc. and some others will be fan games so you'll need to be comfortable with making fangames in order to join.
If you'd like to join please comment with what you'd like to do and post your examples.

If you don't have any published projects that demonstrate that you can bring a game to fruition on your own if need be then you won't get much responses here.

I don't have many progress pics of the game I am already working on yet because it's still in development. But yes I have a game I'm already doing. Here's more info. for others to see.

It is an otome game that will be released for around $5 and will be 35k words, with extra words being added as an update after the game has a few downloads. The writer's next deadline is Mar. 5th
I'd strongly advise you not attempt to go commercial with your first game(s), and It'd also probably be wise you to go solo on your first project. Start out with something small. Trying to sell your first game and trying to make a large project as your first game are two rookie mistakes that everyone makes. Please, please, don't follow that cycle.
Make a short 15-20 minute game that stays within the limits of your own personal skills, release it, listen to the feedback, even if it's mostly negative, which it probably will be. You will gain infinite knowledge from doing this.

Hi
Are you specifically looking for sb who works with the ace?
I have moved from ace to Game Maker engine, but will keep using my tilesets which I made for the ace, and I'm making a game currently.
Pls pm me if you are interested^^

I'm a currently an unpublished writer working on a novella and would probably not be much help. But i'd be more then happy to lend a hand if I can as I have been looking to try my hand at game making.
McBacon Jam is coming up in two weeks or so. Participate in it. Make some friends. Network.
Otherwise, yeah, you'll have to show some of your own work before others will take an interest.

May I ask why is that required?
Not required. It is just a good way to meet people. Get your name out there. Show off your skills so that people are willing to invest their time into you.
@LunaiLegends
Let's make a deal, shall we? I can use VX Ace, no problem. However, I need an artist. So, I'll help you with your games, and you help me with mine. How about it?

But what can you help me with? And what artwork did you need help with? Please note that I can only do anime style art and some cartoon styles.
Well, if you're looking at making a horror game, there's a very high chance that I'll be interested. I'm not a bad writer, especially when it comes to horror... I live and breathe the shit. All I read are horror novels, all I watched are horror movies, almost all I listen to is black metal and horrorcore, and I've survived real life horror.
As far as scripting goes, I know Ruby, but not RGSS, though it probably wouldn't be that difficult to pick up on.
I'm currently working on a Sim RPG Maker 95 game that took me down to at least the 5th or 6th layer of Hell while trying to get pallettes working properly, which includes my first experiences with real spriting and tile art, though by no means am I adept in those areas.

You need to level up more before you can finish an impressive game. Grind experience points by making tiny shitty games
unity
Have you ever completed a game before?
This post basically answers that question.

Yup I am making a horror game so you can help. I thought vx ace used ruby. o.o But if it won't be difficult then help for that would be nice too. Do you have examples of tilesets? I need tilesets like in these games:

I need all the help I can get. So far I have a writer, music composer, an eventer, a mapper, and a tileset artist but I may need another tileset artist. I am taking care of the facesets, gui, and sprites.
VX Ace uses a flavour of Ruby called RGSS (Ruby Game Scripting System) which for all intents and purposes is pretty much Ruby with extra methods and classes baked in.
I guess for now I am trying to make a game myself 'cause it seems no one will help me yet for some areas. (And I tried many sites already asking for help too..) I do hope using assets is okay though. Anyways, I got some time at least until my first game is done.
