OLD/LOST RPGMAKER GAMES - SEGNIN'S RARE/OBSCURE RM GAMES REQUEST TOPIC

Posts

I'm gonna try and add this to thread when I have more free time along some other things.
This is a trailer for the 2007 demo of barkley shut up and gaiden. We're looking for the 2007 demo.
I came to gamingw in 2007-ish, but it was a bit later so I was only aware of the full game being available. We're looking for one made in game maker around this time, not the rm2000/2003 demo.
Nevermind, we found it. person was actually looking for the rm2k game in full.

Is this not the full version? (Oh nvm, I see the Demo in the title now)
https://web.archive.org/web/20070212084818/http://chef.avalanchestudios.net/Barkley%20Shut%20Up%20and%20Jam%20Gaiden.rar

I have this:
Barkley, Shut Up and Jam Gaiden - Don Miguel Edition (Tales of Games) (RM2K3) (2008)

Edit Yeah this is different, it has 147 maps, while the demo has 18, so I think I have the full version.

UPDATE:I FINALLY got my old computer working and managed to get my copy of Sonic RPG Beta transferred to my laptop! It's now finally available for download again! I also got to explore my computer around a little bit, and got some pretty interesting memories back.

I've actually had the game since around July 2011. The full name of the game is (for some reason) "Sonic Role-Playing Game", and it was developed using RPG Maker 2000 in 2007/2008 as a beta by MAXIMA Productions (yay! I guessed the name right!). It's still referred to "Sonic RPG Beta" in some cases. Download link is in the bottom of the post.

Oh, and I also have download links to two more obscure games. The first one is another Indonesian game called "GameStation Saga - Fighter Machine". The other one is a Spanish/English bilingual game called "Battle Against FlygonBreloom", made by Alba Garcia Clérigues.

Alright, download links HERE:

Sonic Role-Playing Game Beta (Indonesian) (MEGA)
GameStation Saga - Fighter Machine (Indonesian) (MediaFire)
Battle Against FlygonBreloom (English/Spanish) (SkyDrive, not a direct link)

If LordBlueRouge wants to copy those to his MediaFire account, then go ahead. Very glad to be part of the community working to restore old RPG Maker games :)

Hello!
I'm creating this account just to say a THANK YOU for finding my game! I'm Ran, a sole developer from "MAXIMA Productions". I made this Sonic RPG Beta game way back in 2007.

Just like you I was losing hope of finding this little game that was lost along with my old Pentium III PC, and hosted only on my personal site and Ziddu file hosting (duh!). Honestly I'm developing this game only for myself and my friends so I didn't publish it on any RPG Maker developer community, it's just a miracle that someone else on the other side of the world have a copy and actually playing it haha!

And it's admirable that you also posted GameStation Saga, that game was my massive inspiration for Sonic RPG. You probably noticed that I "shamelessly stole" some elements from GS Saga to my game, from the music, UI, to the menu system. I didn't really know better back then :P

From a creator, you guys have made my day. I seriously appreciate all the archiving efforts you have done here. Thank you for preserving a piece of niche, obscure history :)
I still think someone should set up a "timeline" of games that came out through the years on this list. I think that actually might help people like me, find possible older games that were done throughout the years, especially with GamingWorld now lost and archived. :( Dark times to come, Dark Elf. Dark times. And if nobody will do it, then I will! HOHOHO!! Because for a short time, I was looking for older games, and I used to have one called Rising Sun (not the one in the list but another one) that was kinda interesting. I think the main characters name was Raschard, and his brother in the game was evil and is trying to take over the world they are in lol religion reference. It's even on the archive of GamingWorld but NO MOAR LINK. I AM SAD. What do ze people think though?
This is probably more easily answered in the RM japanese community but does anyone have info on "Network RPG Maker 2000"?

https://web.archive.org/web/20001025221616/http://techwin.ne.jp/view.cgi?file=game/nedango/index.html

I managed to recover the translated version of the program but I maybe vaguely remember it when learning about the more alternate ASCII makers and such but this seems like an mmo maker of sorts? You were able to upload games to the site but also to a custom FTP, I'm wondering if the network part of it just refers to that feature. But then there's "soloplay" which leads me to believe theres some way of playing with other players. Very weird and not a lot of info on it, kinda plays like Diabo though.

Just bringing this up for the sake of posterity because there's not much documentation. There's a really old broken tutorial here on importing stuff into the program randomly but... it would be nice if there was an actual explanation as to what the program even is.

edit: ye old press release goes into it more https://pc.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/article/20000605/ascii.htm citing everquest leads credence to the whole mmo thing but really this just seems like a pre-BYOND engine thing to me.

This is so cool that someone was able to find your long lost game! Sometimes the world can be an amazing place.

If you haven't checked out the RPG Maker Games List utility (https://rpgmaker.net/engines/other/utilities/216/) I highly recommend it. It does its absolute best to guess the date of the game based upon various files stored within, and I think does a pretty good job of it, too. At the very least, it is a lot easier than doing it manually.

Pretty much it is an isometric RPG Maker 2000 with up to 8 players.

This Link Suggests:
author=Website
Network RPG Maker 2000 (ネットワークRPGメーカー2000) is a multi-player variant supporting up to 8 players per game. The game map is displayed in isometric format.

The multi-player server was run by TECHWin.
Uh, well... calling it a "multi-player variant" of RPG2000 is just a little blob of misinformation that I've already seen spread through badly written texts without reliable sources on Wikipedia in the past.

RPG Maker 2000 (RPGツクール2000) and DWANGO's Network RPG Maker 2000 (ネットワークRPGメーカー2000, Nedango for short, with server-infrastructure provided by the people of TECH Win, a computer magazine that was running in house of the same distributor under ASCII/eb!/KDKW that also owns the Famitsu) are not related, Nedango is not a TKool-product.

It shares the name with RPGメーカー series (97, Plus and 98) created by Digital Wave that were previously published as installments of the way lower priced DISK&BOOK / CD-ROM&BOOK series by ASCII LOGiN, always containing a program or game bundled with a big pages-heavy magazine-manual-hybrid.

Setting a chronology wouldn't be a bad idea, it would help discover if there is any gaps in between releases of various authors.

Now given it would be a bit of a task to set it up, but it would be of great value.
So, looking through the Missing/BrokenLinks List, I thought I might be able to help out here. XD

https://mega.nz/folder/ViRQVQQT#T_hpTJdSaih5rp1aI1bKIA

Note:
RM2K = RPG Maker Tsukuru 2000 (so, not the newer legal one)
RM2K3 = RPG Maker Tsukuru 2003 (again, not the newer legal one)
SIMRPG = Sim RPG Maker 95
The rest are obvious (I would hope)

Also, I altered the spelling for a few games to avoid arousing the attention of t3h CupPeeTr0II$

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's what you'll find in this archive -- Currently 143 games.
A Gate Into Eternity
I'll see your 3 versions and raise you one more. You'll have to compare your copies with mine to see which one you're missing.
Abstract Paroxysm v2
You already have it; it's this one, which btw is also still a demo:
Abstract Paroxysm (Author)(RM2k)(2004).rar
Akasha Seal
You only asked for the first, but I uploaded all 4 as they do go together.
EDIT--AnnieGal already upped these here: https://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/22883/?post=923311#post923311
Axis Saga
Uploaded the v3 game and the DBS demo (Is that supposed to be CBS?)
Bedtime Story
Upped both the 1st & 2nd, called Climax.
Figured if someone wants either, they're gonna want both.
Cloud Age Symphony
All I have is a trailer, so I guess this must be it.
Darklight
It's complete title, according to both the title screen and RPG_RT.ini, is Project Darklight.
Dooms
I figured you're looking for the original RM2K version. I also have the RM2K3 one too if you need that one.
Dragon Ball Z - Light of Fury
I have what I think are 2 versions. Or maybe 2 different games.
One has 24 maps, the other only 19 maps. So, grab both.
Eden
Yeah...I'm not sure which game that is. Because there are no RM games that are named just Eden (AFAIK)
Since you already have Forever Eden & Knights of Eden, and the Eden Legacy series is on RMN, that narrows it down to 3 choices. Either it's Eden Ring, Eden's Saga or Beyond Eden - Chronicles of Nod. So, here's all 3.
Final Fantasy - The Untold Story
It's on RMArchiv: https://rmarchiv.de/games/1198
Final Fantasy VII: Ancestral Vengeance
My copy has the same number of maps as yours (29 maps each) but your copy from that Vietnamese forum has maps that are years more recent than mine. Which indicates that *someone* made bugfixes/improvements/changes to your copy whereas mine is most likely "original". Also mine is missing the RTP. I don't believe this demo was ever longer than this though.
FINALE FINALE
There's no such game. NewBlack was kidding when he requested all those Final Finales (one through sixteen lol).
In any case, I uploaded the actual game demo (Final Finale XVII) along with it's parody remake (Final Finale xD)
Note: I don't know if these are the most recent versions, as I've been out of the scene for nearly a decade. Yes, it's been awhile.
Hero Story 2 - Swords
You already have this in Aldu's Archive, but my copy has 2 maps that are more recent, so I upped mine for comparison.
iLL nATURED
i kNOW yOU sAY yOU aLREADY hAVE tHIS, bUT i dON'T sEE iT uP yET sO hERE iT iS. eNJOY.
( sorry, couldn't resist ^_^; )
James Bind
I have it titled as "The Adventures of James Bind", probably because that's how it's titled. ;p
Kinetic Cipher
You already have this in your archive. Thanks, btw, as I was missing a few versions.
Kirby Adventure
Have 2 games: one Adventure, the other Adventures (plural). Upped both.
Mortal Kombat Vendetta
I believe this is a Fighter Maker game, also named it Mort_Kom_Vend to avoid being flagged.
Don't know if Mega looks for certain words in the filename or not, but MediaFire does.
Obama RPG
I know you found a copy, but mine is twice as large. With 3 times the maps (88 compared to 27)
Origin
I have 2 games by that name, and now so do you.
Rescue Reidman IV
Recently updated by golbez on RMN; still a demo but it's 400+ MB now
https://rpgmaker.net/games/3541/
Savior Knight: Mage's Quest
I have 2 with that name, one Fantasy, the other Legends. Both now available.
Shadows of Evil - Wings of Time (v 4.0)
I know you said you'd found it, but here it is and as an added bonus the official walkthrough is included.
As this is the sequel to Shadows of Evil - Dreamcaller (v2.0) I've also uploaded that as well. (Hopefully Otabo doesn't mind <__< )
Take Down (both)
Not only did Dudesoft recently repost 4 of his Takedown games here, but he forgot to make them the main download: https://rpgmaker.net/games/2704/downloads/12595/
Guess who that (currently just) one download for his collection happens to be? ^o^
He did remember to make his Remix the main download though: https://rpgmaker.net/games/537/downloads/
But for some reason, he won't upload any of them to RMN itself. *shrug*
Wild Card
Seems the only difference between the LITE version and the not LITE version is an extra sfx file & movie file, maybe something else. Meh.
Wraith
Has always been here on RMN: https://rpgmaker.net/games/379/downloads/
Since 2011 no less, lol (unless you're looking for a different game? But I don't recall any other RM game with that name other than it's sequel...)
Wraith - The Second Chapter ~Sainth~
Speak of the devil, because here's that sequel: https://rpgmaker.net/games/463/downloads/
I suppose this is actually my fault for my habit of (usually) labeling my games with their full title.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The following games are already in Aldu's RpgMaker Archive, posted on the first page:

Battle Arena II v1.5 - Search inside Battle Arena V1.5 and you'll find an archive titled Battle Arena II.lzh
All the game files are identical with the files in my copy (CRCs match) so it's definitely Battle Arena II v1.5

Coaster Craft Gold - Also in his archive, and get this: some of his maps are more recent than the ones in my copy (by 3 days) and the CRC does NOT match. So is his copy a slightly newer/bug fixed improvement?

Hero Story - Dragons - In his archive and also upped by DeaneTheMachine who included some m4a conversions of the midi music here:

https://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/4667/?post=907279#post907279
Their copies are identical to mine.

WorldSong Remix - My copy is identical with the one in the archive.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some titles need to be corrected on your list.
Incorrect = Correct
Adeimus = Adiemus (I before E)
Don Mezir = Don of Mezir
Improbably Message = Improbable Message
Rose Chronicles = The Rose Chronicles
The Notes of the Second Mellynd War = Notes on the Second Mellynd War.
Wild Card = Wildcard
You also have Final Fantasy - Hunter's Joy in your archive, but as Hunter's Joy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The ones still missing:

Andredane Demo
Dragon Ball Z Saiyan Legend
Eleven
Crossed Realmz 1, 2 & 3
Legend of Durai
Lunatic Gaming Chaingame
Mikko
Ravenwood Horror
RPG Creator 1995
Shana of the Ghosts

Feel free to add what I've (re)shared to the RMArchiv as well as the one you've got here.
And I've got a lot more, I'll be uploading little by little. (And it'll have to be as my DSL is still slow; also still on DSL *sigh*)

And I'm truly touched that you named the new/current thread in my honor (and I suppose memory lol)
Thank you for that, and I'm sorry it took so long for me to return. Life did get in the way--as well as death & health--in what was supposed to be a short break from the RM scene. And thank you for your continued effort to preserve these games--and help out the few who still actually want them.

Yeah, the younger generations just aren't into our nostalgia it seems.
Well, I'm back and although I stopped collecting nearly a decade ago, I'm ready to start again. And I've got plenty more old lost & rare gems to share

(Well they might not all be gems) ^.^;;

I appreciate the kind words and the continued hardwork here krum110487.♥

I'm gonna post this latest request as it's the most I can do at the moment:
MikeH#2264 on discord last night was looking for these demos, from this game page for THE DBZ ABS STARTER KIT DEMO:

https://rpgmaker.net/games/4101/
gamepage was last updated around 2019? But the demos were hosted using rapidshare through rmn's download links.

I appreciate the continued work here. I noticed some new names from the missing games listed are popping up as well which is great.

DBZ ABS Starter Kit:
https://mega.nz/file/5yIFURKA#9yRCcB5lun9EbiGUVayKnalrRhvuIUxtXyh_N_25zNE

I'm not sure which version, might be v.3...or maybe v.2? *shrug*
author=piphany
Hi! I'm just wondering if anybody around here has any knowledge on The Line Narrows, Lys86's sequel to A Blurred Line? I know that it was incorporated into the latter's v2.1, however I've been really struggling to find a copy of the original game bar a mention in SegNin's collection and a long-dead and unarchived download link on a different website. I'm sure that quite a few people out there must have it, since it's the sequel to such a popular RM2K game!!

Paging @Kaesekumpel in particular, since I know that you had (and archived—thank you so much!) the original A Blurred Line pre-v2.1, which even SegNin was unable to find, so if anybody has the sequel, then you might be the best person to know.

Ah, and a separate little archival question that I forgot to ask: another tricky point with Lysander's works is that it's really difficult to pin down release dates for any of them. This Giant Bomb page gives some months (but not days) for A Blurred Line and The Line Narrows, and even has a potential date for the v2.1 compilation, but beyond that, I can't find a release date for a single one of any of his other works, since all archived download links only give the same much later date for each game, on which they were uploaded to that site. Has anybody any pointers on where such things could be found?

While I don't have the original demo for A Blurred Line, I did stumble across The Line Narrows like a decade back. And yes, there's no doubt it's legit as the most recent maps are dated March of 2001--actually one's dated April 1, but it's no April Fools I assure you <(^^)>
Here's one of the rarest games in my collection, The Line Narrows:
https://mega.nz/file/ZzZBRAKJ#ff1Y69oqpwourHaA-YAhP7FHYFWutCbhR7ZztEh0mZY
Regarding Relic, I have the Chapters 1 through 3 demo, which I believe was the final one. It's 255 MB, unencrypted, so you can see it has 337 maps. Do you guys want it?

No Blue Marble though, sorry, wasn't around for that one.
Don't have Listen either.
edit-Listen is here: https://www.rmarchiv.de/games/1452
credit to Gari for sharing this.
So, looking through the Missing/BrokenLinks List, I thought I might be able to help out here. XD

I am floored, this is a highlight of 2022 for me XD. ♥
EDIT: sorry, kind of reeling here, lol. I can't believe you're back man. holy shit!
Yeah, I downloaded everything in the megaupload link you provided. I'll also make the changes you recommended to the missing list over the few days.

Glad to have ya back man. ♥
holy shit.

This really sparked my interest. It's hard to find info on this at all. I can't seem to find a proper download-- the old ascii site's download button is snapped. I keep poking around on wayback machine and the internet archive and everything, can't seem to find it. I really wanna get my hands on the thing, though. If soloplay is an option, that opens up a lot of possibilities.
Went through krum110487's entire long list of missing RMN games, where a lot of them were hosted on Dropbox for some silly reason.
And here are the fruits of my labor.

** warning: starts off somewhat strong but then kind of fizzles, so temper your expectations. I did quit gam collecting back in, oh was it 2014 now?

RWBY - The Missing Dust - Episode 1 https://rpgmaker.net/games/6376/
Unfinished fangame, again link is up but DropBox denies. I'm noticing this is the case repeatedly with this particular developer.
Could it be they set all their downloads to "Private" or something like that?
Contacting one (this time just one) "Let's Play" person on Youtube.

Aesparia - The Fallen https://rpgmaker.net/games/6625/
Contacting 2 people on Youtube who've done "Let's Plays" for this game to see if they still have it.

A Man Called Dungeon (Cash Saves the Day Edition) https://rpgmaker.net/games/7153/
The link is still up. The dev just screwed up how they posted it.
They did it like this:
http://download1612.mediafire.com/icy1kd8814wg/ncb62z5h2pj6bpk/A+Man+Called+Dungeon.zip

When it should be like this (AND YES, YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT FROM HERE)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/ncb62z5h2pj6bpk/

Notice how the correct structure is http://www.mediafire.com/file/
Then you add ncb62z5h2pj6bpk/ which is also in the broken link, right before the filename.
And someone who can, please the fix the main download link.

Black Sheep https://rpgmaker.net/games/7278/
Dropbox. Yup. And how is that THIS game has 4 people on Youtube who did Let's Plays? Is it really that good?
Contacting all 4, fingers crossed on this one.

Red Syndrome https://rpgmaker.net/games/8032/
LordBlueRouge already posted a working link in the comments for this game:

Final Fantasy VIII- The Sorceress War https://rpgmaker.net/games/8303/
Contacting someone who *should* have it, waiting for his response.
UPDATE: My best lead did respond, very nice guy, but unfortunately the hard drive where he had this game died and he no longer has it. I still have one more longshot. But it doesn't look promising.

Beacon Zero https://rpgmaker.net/games/8340/
From the dev's Facebook:
Beacon Zero Official

"I've been noticing this page getting viewed more often recently so I'd like to update you on the situation. If it's in the script, this game will get made, but right now I have no computer or place to work, so that's a bummer. The demo works and maybe one day I'll convert it to mobile so today's society can enjoy it."

Dottore https://rpgmaker.net/games/8383/
Apparently a really short, and now cancelled demo. Also, DropBox. And searching for Lets Plays only brings up vids of the anime character of the same name.

Generations of Epheria - The Shadow Huntress https://rpgmaker.net/games/8493/
There is a download for an older version, and the dev said they're hoping to finish it by the end of this year.
So maybe it's best to wait and see here.

Lady of the Winds https://rpgmaker.net/games/8712/
They might've taken it down because of the bugs.

Project Nyx https://rpgmaker.net/games/8844/
There's a game on Steam with the same name but it's not the same game. Needless to say, forget about Lets Plays.
Apparently a short demo rife with typos (which may be why it was deleted by the dev)

RPG GO! : The Legend https://rpgmaker.net/games/8858/
Abandoned demo, most likely. Ah, well...c'est la vie.

WAIT! Found a working link...while looking for something else?? Howdafuk?!

A Cry in the Walls https://rpgmaker.net/games/9094/
<< I'm running out of steam here, all this mostly futile searching >>
Honestly, for quite a few of these, seems like they were cancelled by the devs who then not surprisingly deleted the files.

Acak - Random https://rpgmaker.net/games/9450/
And this dev got a virus on his comp, and the game got infected and he can't remove it.
Is anyone else shocked to learn that computer viruses were stil a thing in 2017?

.Dot World https://rpgmaker.net/games/9494
Same dev who got the virus/trojan/worm/spyware/keylogger/botnet/rootkit/rootcanal or whatever on his comp.

A Cliche Birthday https://rpgmaker.net/games/9617/
Ugh, the virus guy again. From now on wrap it before you tap it, bruh.

A Lost Dreamer https://rpgmaker.net/games/9622/
♫ Beautiful Dreamer, wake unto me, ♫
♫ Starlight and dewdrops are waiti- *ahem* ...starting to crack up here. methinks
So, French demo posted to English speaking RM game site, because apparently there aren't any French speaking ones.

Actually NO!
Because you'll find it on itch.io and it's free (and in English...and French too if you parlez vous Francais) <---literally all the French I still remember from 7th grade other than bon jour, merci beacoup, como esta usted...
OK, enough clowning, here's the link: https://no0ony.itch.io/a-lost-dreamer

Something Something Ninja RPG
https://rpgmaker.net/games/9760/
Dev fixed the link, and more than likely fixed most of the issues that were reported in the comments.
Hey, it's a complete game anyway, so at least it has that going for it... Anyway, go play! (and yes, it's a Naruto fangame)

Technically, these games were never hosted or posted to RMN, so they shouldn't have been included with this list.
However, since they were requested...

Holy shit this is Christmas.

Aren't you a bit early for that, friend? >:C I will appreciate it anyway but you're putting me on a bit of a bind.
Hello God SegNin, I would like to ask for a Christmas box if you don't mind. The list is here: https://www.rpg-maker.fr/jeux-cimetiere.html.

I've already looked for all those games in 2019, and asked for the french community if they had them. I also mailed the developers I could (not a lot are answering).
If you didn't archive french games back in the day, there are two games you might have nonetheless:
Tales of the Seven Jewels by Linoa06 (english)
Sudoku by BetaBug (german)

credit to Gari for sharing this.
I don't remember that, but hey, with the little manipulation, it's totally possible. Or it was just easy to find.
