https://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/industry-news/libraries/article/91862-in-a-swift-decision-judge-eviscerates-internet-archive-s-scanning-and-lending-program.htmlIs this something to be worried about down the line? I wouldn't want to lose anything because the internet archive is gutted further.

IA is pretty invaluable but we haven't been relying on it too much for archival. I'll be pissed if the whole thing is taken down due to court costs and by proxy the waybackmachine. I know there's a lot of RPG Maker game dumps on there so it is worth having multiple baskets but this does set an awful precedent.

I remember LBR got a torrent for the game archive. I don't know if its updated but I think p2p is our best bet for unregulated hosting.

It's good to know it's not too bad! Maybe I will grab some things from the wayback... My first thought was about the scripts in older engines that might disappear (specifically vx ace) although I know a lot are saved by Nessy

RM2K - Wild Arms - Artifact Quest.rar please! I still have my save but those games are toast.....Anyone?

The Fight Continues
Here at the Internet Archive, we’re deeply grateful for our community—the partners, patrons, and donors who help us thrive. Your support has proven especially valuable during a lawsuit brought by four major publishers that has aimed to put a stop to our library lending.

A lower court decision released on Friday ruled in favor of the publishers. This is a blow to all libraries and the communities we serve—but the fight is far from over.

We will appeal this judgment, continuing to defend the rights of libraries to serve their patrons, and the rights of readers to access books. We will also continue our work as a library. This case does not challenge many of the services we provide with digitized books, including interlibrary loan, access for the print-disabled, and ongoing donation and preservation of books.

Libraries are a pillar of democracy. They have an age-old role in providing access to knowledge for marginalized communities and preserving knowledge for future generations. As we push forward with our vital work, we hope that you’ll continue to stand with us.

We are powered by donations from individuals like you. If you find our services useful, please consider contributing to help us in our mission to build the web we deserve.

Today 20:20. I worry that they want to take down the site and take the old RPG Maker games with them. CDs. Old magazines like Login Soft. RPG Maker Rom for PC88. By coincidence, I was downloading software that had already been developed by the same people who made RPG Maker.

...Yeah, that gut feeling you have, when you realize that thing might not be around forever? - Probably grab those scripts asap, cause that's usually when they disappear. I'm just speaking from experience here.

Like, I'm going to be honest with ya, I came from an artschool, in that artschool, we may have had different teachers, but the classes were the same, the material was the same, the books we studied from were the same. There may have been slight changes over the years to the curriculum and how to apply those techniques to a more modern job market, but because the school was built in the 60s, there was always this genuine sense of security, that as long there was a need and a desire to learn, there would always be a place, where we could learn and grow and study these techniques from - we don't have that here for rpgmaker, at least, not in English yet - we're doing that work right now, but creating a place like that is very very different and much more susceptible to change, when it's on the internet.

I foolishly thought, back in 2007 that these things were the same, that as long as it was on the internet, it would be around forever, that's clearly not been the case here - When I was really getting into rpgmaker and jumping between RRR, GamingW, Gamingrgrounzero and rpgmaker.net, I never imagined there would ever be a time where those sites would no longer exist; So if you feel like you should grab them, definitely grab them, even just for your own sake.

EDIT: ...What I'm trying to say here is, don't rely too much on other people to back these things up for you. if it's something specific, that you're looking for and it's something you're genuinely interested in, take some agency in it, back these things up while you still have the opportunity, so that it's not just one person, trying to preserve, remember and contribute, but so that everyone can continue to preserve and contribute.

Because, once you have a personal investment in these tools that your using and something changes 5 or 10 years down the road, you're probably going to be the one passing this information onto someone whose looking for it too.

I'm looking for a couple games:

Scelus' Path
Some kind of weird LGBT neopagan Final Fantasy knockoff. Apart from a TV Tropes page, there's basically nothing on the internet about it.

The Empire of Arkantos
An infamously terrible troll game (trailer is NSFW). Apparently not even the creator has a copy anymore.

I am going through all of the posts on this thread to confirm we have everything posted.
Does anyone have a copy of this game? The link doesn't work for me.

This question is not strictly on-topic, but have any of you discovered any obscure hidden gems because of this thread?
I have a HUGE google sheets full of links I have.

I will update the first tab, but here is my missing games collection.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rAorryhTLhIQyzZI7FN_lUzbmgtntaxU8pPJDBUD0QY/edit?usp=sharing

I will update the sheet to include everything I have. I just need to parse through the files and convert it to a CSV for the first tab. I have gone through A LOT of wayback links. But you are welcome to use my work for link searching.

Probably, but the older I've gotten the more I've realized I probably should have archived some of this stuff since I doubt I'll ever find a working download link for the Dragon Ball Z world someone made for "Well of Souls" by synthetic-reality ever again.

In fact, there were at least three that I'm aware of at this point in time, but considering Well of Souls dates back to 1998 if I'm not mistaken. Trying to find a functional download for a fan project from over two decades ago with a generic name like "DRAGONBALL_GT" or "Dragonball Z Universe" would be an absolute nightmare.

In fact, my hour+ of searching didn't turn up anything useful besides a dead link to a long forgotten website made on freewebs that no longer exists.

Update: Well, I managed to find a link to a discord for Well of Souls that had links to some of the old worlds other people had created. Sadly these lists aren't anywhere close to complete, but they did include some of the stuff I was looking for. Though the files from one of the archives doesn't work properly for some odd reason and the other archive made the process of unpacking them a bit annoying since you need to unpack the zip file then open it to copy the file inside of that to the proper location to launch the world correctly.

Side Note: And the few worlds I have tried are pretty bad with the developers really like to create massive maps with very little to do. And some of them don't even have a clear destination to visit if you get killed either.

I noticed that ILL natured 1 (this is the page) is unavailable, while the sequel is instead present here.

Does anyone have the first one? I have still to check on my old PC, sadly I'll be able to do that next week...

Yeah, this is one of those things that slipped by me unfortunately. Years ago when I first rehauled the thread someone mentioned they found 1 and 2, I checked it out and it turns out they only had a copy of 2? and upon inspecting the gamepage on RMN, I thought it already had a download my bad

So we're still missing ill Natured 1 unless SegNin still has it from years ago.

EDIT: I want to add krum's google sheet of links to the thread too, I'm just not sure how to phrase it.

EDIT2: Yea my bad, segnin reposted it in the return post, i'll grab a link.
Ill nATURED 1

I have these downloaded, but I think the reason why it didn't show up is because I used mega.nz download-all-at-once zip file, feature, so it was there. But the name didn't show up in the search cause it was in a zip file - my bad.

Oh cool! I probably already grabbed them but on the other PC that I can check next week anyway I wasn't really sure! Nice!

Hi all!
I need help in some strange question. I seek for one game, that i can't remember name.
May be someone of us know.

There are exist one game, as I remember RPG Maker game, within all NPC characters related to talk about crabs or sea or fish...something like this.
This game was quest, or horror quest, or absurd parody quest...Something like that.

So anyone know name of this game? It's released (minimum) +- 3 year ago, may be more.

author=ProjectRevolutionTPP
Since my post on "The Eternals" apparently didn't get any hits so far, I think I'll go ahead and ask about the other one I'm trying to find.

There's another RPG Maker game im trying to find and this time I'm actually not sure if it was 2k or 2k3 (because it was gimmicky and didn't use any RPG battles). It was a zombie themed game with a top down perspective and used mostly MS Paint or pixel drawn assets very crudely. You were some dude with a chainsaw I think who ran into zombies with "collision" checking in order to kill them, and I think the writing was the worst I had ever seen. The MIDIs used were mostly those cheap MIDI covers of famous rock songs at the time like Green Day and Three Doors Down and all that stuff. Does this ring a bell to anyone?

Registered for a late bump on this x-years-old post but I can corroborate this game's existence if nothing else, it was actually 2 rm2k3 games generically called "Zombie Slayer" and "Zombie Slayer 2" (if memory doesn't fail me... it's only been 18 or so years) I vividly remember at one point you need to venture out in a desert/wasteland highway to scavenge an ammo shipment for a military outpost running dry, and the end of the second game where you face off against the two zombie queens/leaders and their horde in a football stadium while kernkraft400 plays. No idea which site they were originally available from but if not for this other post referencing it, it might as well have been a fever dream.

Also, it looks like someone re-uploaded a mirror on Mediafire for Slime Bent on Revenge (& co) back in Feb 2020 for the RPG maker wiki page for it, of all things. Makes you wonder what else is still floating out there.

Some of you may remember Laughy's Tetris. It's still available on iishenron's site. Well, I was looking at his old website, and apparently he also released a custom battle system at one point. Does anyone have it?

...I want to let this be known early, so we can probably start transitioning to a solution: I kind of want to retire from this.

When I rehauled the thread back in 2017 it was mostly to fix an issue I saw coming down the pipe line. I also had less responsibilities and more free time back then. But now I have more responsibilities and less free time; but also Segnin is back, which is kind of cool - I'd like to comeback to this at some point, but I'm not sure when.

The major issue right now is just the day to day stuff, keeping track of requests and adding them to the requests page, (which can be found here: https://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/22883/?post=814176#post814176 ).

It'd be cool if krum110487, Gari or Segnin, could apply to a staff position and just edit the thread,
or even Marrend, who can already edit threads.

All you have to do is 1)copy and paste the link of the post:

2)Add a description to it.

(NEW)2023 quest, horror, absurd parody where NPCs talk about crabs sea and fish from possibly 2020 or earlier

and then 3) add it to the request post here:

There's more stuff, but this is probably the most important duty I've been neglecting because,
this thread solely functions on how many eyes are on it,
and if there's no one keeping track of what's missing or what's requested, those eyes can't fulfill them.

So yeah, there's more stuff to do, but this is probably the easiest fix at the moment
and the most important one to get out of the way.

EDIT: long story short, I'm not turning my back on this or leaving this behind, I can still host this, it's 7 bucks a month - but there seems to be enough people here now, doing a much better job than I ever could with this, that it might be time to switch gears and adjust a few things - that's all this is really.

I don't necessarily mind saving the request post, and keeping track of what all people are looking for. I don't assume to have, or know about, any game people might mention here, so, like, it's the least I can do towards this effort.
I'm still looking for a copy of the following games:

Wednesday's Knights
A Krampus Christmas (Game Chill 2013)

And I'm curious if SegNin still has a viable download for "The Adventures of Two Guys" by Spazzgamer27.

I know he used to since he posted a link to megaupload in the comment section for the game, but this link no longer functions.

And I was also wondering if anyone has a copy of Klonoa FanRPG by Huepow00 (now known as TheDJEAR). Apparently he had announced he was going to release an update for this old forgotten game about a year ago, but after making that announcement went quite on this project. And for the curious I did leave a comment on his announcement video on his newest channel. So hopefully I can get a valid link from the developer if no one else has it.

Right. Updated the request listing!

*Edit: I felt inclined to remove the "NEW" notation from all of the entities on that post, as the items therein are likely to already sorted by how long ago the referring post was made. I might eventually remove the bold as well, but, maybe another time.
