Dang, I'd probably just do a poem for free, really -- I own the only games on this list that interest me already. ^^;

Gimme a while, and I'll pull something out of my mind...
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

You can always regift the game to someone else. I think. Probably? I don't really know for sure how steam gifts work.

Probably so, Locke. ^^; Anyway, concocted this poem for the contest, derived somewhat from one of my favorite random lines that pops up under this site's logo.

Many have tried, yet many have failed
A learning curve some feel they can't prevail
One project attempted again and again
Doubts clash in ways one cannot defend

Sometimes they're golden, while others rotten
Some games remembered, others forgotten
The journey of making asks a question that's tough:
"Can you polish your diamond in the rough?"

An upward struggle, but maybe you'll learn
Something of game dev as your idea burns
So much in your heart and in your mind
That you'll finish that project for those of your kind

At the end of your journey of your pixel hero
You might not get quite the reception you desire
But do not believe your skills to be zero
For all skills improve when one acts on will's fire

And maybe someday, you'll become a star
And tales of your game on the web will spread far
But succeed or fail, let your ideas be heard
For it's really you -- you're the RPG Maker!
kentona is great

I can't write poems because I can't make stuff rhyme
Yet I try anyways, because I want a free game
Although it is late, quite past my bedtime
There's a specific game I want to acclaim

Give me Undertale, please

That's it, no more poem

the world ends in whatever my makerscore currently is

Poems are stupid and they make no sense
I wish I could write better
Badly sadly I can't
So here's my poem to you

I downloaded a game, but out of obligation.
It used mostly RTP. How can I be sure it had a foundation?

The title screen shows up, and so does the song 'Town 5'.
Games that never bother to change this makes me believe they lack contrive.

After ten minutes of cutscenes, which was filled with spelling mistakes.
All I learned that the bad guy was an ass, and the hero was a total flake.

Playing as Ralph, I went ahead to grind.
But the very first encounter was an enemy to mankind.

I had no skills and neither did the slime.
The battle was a clash of stats, yet it was not nearly balanced to it's prime.

I was killed in one hit, screw this game.
Leave a one-star review I shall, and will stick to projects with positive acclaim.

All I could think of when writing this:
“Has it ever occurred to you,' he said, 'that the whole history of English poetry has been de-termined by the fact that the English language lacks rhymes?”
― George Orwell, 1984

edit: Slowly fixing spelling mistakes, up late.

~Roses are red
~Violets are blue
~Those first two lines always makes me poo
~Ankylo fixes the bugs
~While Liberty hurts the thugs
~Kentona always begs for money
~But that's okay its actually quite funny.
~But in all seriousness you should donate
~Or else this site will be quite late.
~I can't rhyme worth shit
~So its time for me to quite
~But before I go, Kentona is totally awesome and I want a free game dammit~

Yeah I'm defiantly not winning anything. Worth a shot though. Cheers to another 10 years!!
I see him through my window clearing,
I sit here by the fire, fearing,
A game so bold, it affects my steering,
my car's on fire, and Kentona's peering,
"Why do you hang on my driver-side door? Are you unafraid of gore?"
"I want you to write this in your lore", quoth Kentona, watch him soar.

Edit:

Here's a longer version:

I see him through my window clearing,
I sit here by the fire, fearing,
A plight so bold, it affects my steering,
my car's on fire, and Kentona's peering,
"Why do you hang on my driver-side door? Are you unafraid of gore?"
"I'll kill you to settle our score.", quoth Kentona, with a roar.
"I do not know who you are,
You'll never get inside my car,
I'll drive into a wet abyss,
You'll choke and never get through this."

"I'll still keep persevering,
I have a degree in engineering,
do you really think I can't break through this?
Do you believe I won't destroy your bliss?"

"Kentona, why do you hate me so?"
"You ruined my life ten years ago."
"What did I do that deserves this plight?"
"You put a virus on my site.
Fixing it wasted a whole night.
My wife said I deserve to die,
She said I heard our daughter cry,
'A thief is in our house', she said,
but I kept my worthless head,
toward my screen, yelling with fervor,
about the virus on my server.
The thief opened our safe that day,
Our life savings went away.
Now do you see why I hate you so?
You'll face the punishment I bestow."

I suddenly remembered what I did,
ten years ago, when I was a kid,
I put a virus on rpgmaker.net,
my childhood self chose to be a threat.
To this man, I owe a debt,
which he fully deserves to get.
I stopped my car and opened my driver-side door,
I said, "I admit what I must answer for."
"I appreciate your admission, now it's time for gore",
quoth Kentona, nevermore.
You are now older

Wiser now, we hope you are

Let us have more games
Alright. Entries are going to be closed when I get to work tomorrow morning, after which I will select a winner.

We used to be dancing,
Savouring unwaveringly the creation of worlds.
We used to long for escape,
Now we bring clarity.
Grown forums bring with them more mature sensibilities,
The thick undergrowth of moss and dirt seeping up through threads to provide
sanctity I've always known,
But hidden.
Grounds being gamepages,
Artists being liars and deleting their work,
Like grain in fields unpicked
Ready to be sliced and diced for pleasure.

Since SNES JRPGs of old, our minds dreamed.
So why did our love run so cold?
Hurt runs deep, from inward passing
Interrelations scattering, dogfights emerging
To an outsider seeming a peaceful profession
But inward, harbouring loss.

If it were by pure chance or luck a site called RMN could breach
That trend, garnering attention through innovation or pursuit,
I'd be believed.
Not one, but two happy campers I entered as,
The first inspiring lack of attention,
The second inspiring adoration.

One more cheer for Aremen! Not fallen
But in Liberty a new administration upheld
To hold fast the tradition of the last,
Gratefully I received
As if telling one soul I'd intimately loved them
Every kind one would embrace me.

I feel loved now, even if only for a second,
In a mother-like bosom holding dear only gamepages and downloads,
Or something more? Hearts steadily progressing
In attempts to portray art to the world
As if it were necessary
As if it were needed.
Because it is.
10 years passed, we waited for a game
that would one day
show us how to make a game

What came forth from the shadows
were Mafia games
and curious little things, called screenshot topics
With each day that pass,
poor development portal remained untouched.

And I ran out of ideas.
This is for liberty:

An admin named liberty,
raises her head to the skies,
trembling with anger, she asks one question
why oh why, can't anyone write a blog?

just so you guys know, I don't know the first thing about poetry. keep that in mind.
