GAMES WITH FRONT/SIDE ANIMATED BATTLERS

Greetings.
Have to say, I've been out of the loop for half a decade and I haven't had any luck finding games that pick my fancy. Guess I'm one of those guys that belong to the XP era.

As the title suggests, what I'm looking for are completed rpg games with animated battlers.
Doesn't matter if it's front or side view, as long as the characters have animations and the difference in design between player and enemy battler is not too great, such as having chibi pixelated for one side and realistic hand painted for the other... no thanks, it's off putting.

Would anyone be willing to suggest a few titles?

Thanks in advance.
Hi flavorful7x! I also share the same preference as you! xD I really love side view animated battlers in RPG games, so I can site a few that might capture your interests (games that both the party and enemy share fitting art styles).

Completed games(Games that I know of or played or created):

Luxaren Allure (Side view with fitting artstyles for enemies and party): https://rpgmaker.net/games/5854/

Legends of Illarion 1 and 2 (though 2 is more front-view animated with painted enemy battlers, I still think the art styles are very complimentary):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/1150/
https://rpgmaker.net/games/5527/

Crimson Shift (It's a commercial RPG maker game with side-view characters and enemies):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/9175/

Lakria Legends (Side-view chars with static enemy battlers that also seem to compliment well to the overall artstyle):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/5562/

Ara Fell (Who hasn't heard of this game yet?):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/12/

Nocturne: Rebirth (Side-view awesomeness):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/7809/

Cosplay Crisis (An FF fangame with tons of cool looking FF character sprites):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/1741/

BlueSkies 2 (Shamelessly plugging my own XP game ^_^):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/8864/

Demos/In development (Games to look forward to that has side-view goodness):

Theia - The Crimson Eclipse (Cool looking side-view sprites and overall aesthetic):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/8562/

Lie of Caelum (Sci-fi side-view awesomeness with cool action sequences):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/9813/

Legends of Astravia (Classic JRPG with nice and fitting battle sprites):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/10245/

Asylum: Secret of Caledria (Lovely custom tiles and assets from Time-fantasy):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/10406/

Eternal Twilight (I know it's MV with chibi battlers, but the dev made the enemies become chibi too. Also, the cool action sequences and battle mechanics make this worth the try):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/8326/

Shadow Star (Amazing visuals and animated battler sprites):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/9652/

HEARTBEAT (A commercial game to look forward to. It is front-view but is lively animated and has such an adorable art-style):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/9907/

Revenant Gods (Very cool animated battler sprites with really cool JRPG aesthetics):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/8798/

Chronology of the Last Era (It has such an FF6 vibe to it that I really love):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/555/

Hero's Realm: Heroic Edition (Lovely graphics and intriguing game overall):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/9906/

Eidolescence (A quirky FF fan game prototype with cool looking sprites):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/7492/

Rave Heart (Shameless plugging my own Sci-fi VXace game! ^_^):
https://rpgmaker.net/games/10335/

And that's about most of what I know so far. ;) I really enjoy side-view animated battlers in RM games. Of course, I still love front-view battles in their own ways. xD :) Hope you enjoy the list! :D

Holy hell, so many titles. Guess my Perception stat is 1 and I just suck at looking around...

The ones that stood out to me the most are Ara Fell, Revenant Gods, Theia, Blue Skies and Crimson Shift.
I bet these will keep me occupied for quite a while, and hopefully sate my thirst for RPGs, so thanks a lot for that Starmage.
Oh and also, impressive work on Blue Skies.

I know dragonheartman dabbled into animated battlers in TusK3 via this thread. Not sure if that went anywhere, though.

The game that came to mind in regards to this thread was Suikoden - A New Destiny. While it's true that it chiefly uses rips from Suikoden 2 (probably the PSP remake?), and it's still very much a demo, but, it might interest you regardless?

I can absolutely vouch for Luxaren Allure, if that's a thing.
Flavorful7x - You're very welcome! ;) And thank you so much! I'm very glad you also find BlueSkies 2 interesting! ^_^ Hope you enjoy those games!! :D I've been a fan of side-view battles ever since, which is why I have these games memorized. xDD

Marrend - Wow, never knew a Suikoden fangame existed! :O Awesome find, Marrend! :)

Apparently, Exit Fate and Legion Saga are tributes to that series as is this ditty. Legion Saga was an early TsuK game, seems to rely heavily on RTP, and seems to use the default battle engine. I doubt it has much interest to the OP? I know very little of Exit Fate, save that it exists (or used to exist?).
OMG! Funny that you mention Exit Fate, Marrend! Cause I loved that game xDD been playing that on my phone for hours before xDD :) I can really see the Suikoden inspiration from it. :) I've also seen Legion Saga around but never really got to play it (Since I've read it is supposed to have a really cool Time Fantasy remake which I am indeed anticipating xD).

With that said, Exit Fate is truly indeed a good option for Flavorful7x! :) Though I am quite sure the sprites weren't animated, still, it was side-view featuring some neatly made pixels and is worth the try. :)
