There's a tradition of new year's resolutions. Every year we start full of hopes to accomplish many things...and maybe we manage to do some of them. What are some of yours do you have a list of goals for 2020?

Last year, I failed all of gammak related goals.
On the other side I managed to focus on most of my personal goals. I moved out, found myself a better job, dated more than in 2018.
I failed 2/3 traveling goals only visiting Brno.
When it comes to RMN related goals, the last two interviews should be out soon and I managed to keep a gaming diary.

So, my list for this year is shorter. Bolded are important goals and optional goals are in italics.

1. Finish my master degree
2. Travel to Ukraine and Estonia or Scotland
3. Get less dependent on computer
4. Seriously date someone
5. Organize an RMN meetup

Also, there's this thing I'm doing right now, which isn't really a goal. I don't have my computer at my place, so I can stay productive and I would like to keep it that way for few months. It should help me to better organize my time and to focus on my thesis. For this reason there's a severe lack of gammak and community oriented goals, but I plan to play at least two big RM games and do some three more interviews to spotlight certain devs later in year.

Goaling it 2019
This is a good thread. As a rule I don't go in for New Year's resolutions, just cause I make (and fail) resolutions on the daily and on a weekly and monthly basis. Also usually those resolutions are all the same resolution which isn't a particularly good one: starving artist HARDER until you are miraculously making a living wage from what you do. I mean, putting aside whether or not it's terrible advice, "do what you're already doing only harder and with less realistic expectations" is a crap resolution.

1. Take better care of my dog. My issues, which he's trained to support me with, often result in his being neglected which sucks for him. I need to rack up more days when I'm so depressed I feel like I can't move but take care of him as well as he deserves, anyway.
2. Achieve some measure of financial stability but that doesn't really count as a goal so much as a survival requirement.
3. Ditto with taking better care of my physical and mental health and being more diligent about maintaining doctor's appts and such.
4. Be more mindful of interpersonal relationships and drug use.
5. Go on a date with an actual person? serious, silly, or otherwise.
6. Keep my damn mouth shut instead, if I find myself about to let loose on some kind of anticapitalist, antiauthoritarian, pro-socialist rant, online. Opinions don't make people friends.

1. Make games hosted on itch.io be income somehow.
2. Tackle the terror that is Steam also in the name of making money from MM.
3. Play more RPG Maker games. There are a ton of good games on this site. I should be able to cut out several of the many hours a week I spend playing old (or at least non-new) commercial games
4. Review some of those games!
5. Generally try to show more of an interest in people's work besides my own, while also somehow transubstantiating my own work into money.

Oh, and I don't know if any of our users are Ukrainian or Estonian (no offense if you are) but Scotland I'd think is a much better travel destination.
In all fairness, bird shrapnel isn't as deadly as wood shrapnel
I concur with StormCrow, this *is* a good thread. As I've found making clear goals for myself useful, I'll share this list with everyone in no particular order.

1) Complete my latest RPG Maker project, hopefully getting a demo out by March at the absolute latest. If there's anywhere that my beloved fantasy cast can exist, it just might be in a JRPG.

2) FUCKING TRANSITION INTO PHYSICAL WOMANHOOD. I've put it off and doubted myself about my identity and said I wasn't transgender too many times. I am female, despite the sincere lack of effort I've put in out of being a coward. Time to put my money where my mouth is. I've got my first appointment with a clinic in February 8th of this year, and my transportation is set. Now I need to woman up and do it. On that note, I want to commit myself to voice training a lot more, as I still use it online.

3) Learn to cope with my emotions. I'm still a victim of how strong and debilitating they can be, and I want to balance feeling them while not being enslaved to them. On that note I might have ADHD, and I intend to verify that with a doctor and obtain treatment. Kinda hoping that HRT will help get my hormones regulated as well.

4) Finish a few games I've been needing to. In this case, Final Fantasy Tactics and Dragon Quest 3 are at the top of my list; I've played both since my teens but never finished either. The third place game to beat is Final Fantasy 7, especially as I'd gotten to the first phase of Sephiroth but never farther.

5) Finish my literary works and self-publish them for cheap. Even if I'm beholden to Raziya and her other fantasy folk, Dana the Apocalypse Fox has a *lot* of potential that I don't intend to hold back. She's one of the more intricate and flawed protagonists I've made in a long time, and I'm told my writing has potential as well. Unlike Raziya and gang, Dana's setting and especially adventures aren't as heavily defined as Razzy's, allowing me creative freedom to write gonzo literature to my heart's content.
I love this thread, I'm one of those guys that don't make new year's resolutions, let alone write them down. But maybe doing it could help to get more motivated? Se here I go:

- Become a better person: I'm not gonna lie, I've been a bitter and jaded person for most of my life, driving people away with my... opinions. It's only recently that I've tried to better myself and I think I've made some good progress in these last years, but I know I can do more. I do this for my friends that I want to keep for many years more and for me because if I follow that path I'll slowly destroy myself.

- Become more independent: This goes for both economic independence and being strong enough to face problems by myself, this goal will probably come with the other ones tho, but it also needs some effort of my part, mostly with dealing with insecurities and emotional stuff.

- Have a relationship: This one is complicated and I wasn't sure if I should add it, but welp, here it is. I'm not sure if I should keep it as a "passive goal" or make efforts towards it though. I don't know if I would need to fulfill the other two first to be a lot more stable, or if I should be more direct and try to meet more people (Though I prefer when it comes more naturally...)

- Finish more games: This should be obvious, I just need to dedicate more time to gam mak. I'm aiming to have an absolute minimum of three games this year no matter how big or small they are.

- Make a good game: You can count this as a subgoal of the last one, but yeah, I hope that at least one of my games gets somewhat popular, just enough to get a little spot on front page (Even one day in the buzzing games section would be awesome).

- Make some money of my games: Another complicated one, but yeah, just like any other indie dev I'm hoping to make some money of my games. Of course, I can't expect to become rich soon, any small amount would feel like a great accomplishment, even just 20$.

- Participate more: This counts both as participating in more events and in the Discord server. What can I say? I just want to be a more active member of the community. Also, get more people to know my games outside of here, like on twitter, itch.io, etc.
My top priority for 2020: Having sex with at least one attractive, young, cute female RPG Maker JRPG developer (thus excluding Australian MILFs, for example). Unfortunately, most of them - if they exist at all - never achieve a complete version's release, because they're encumbered with relationships with men, which is also the main reason why they aren't susceptible to my advances. Well, if this doesn't work out, I'll aim for world domination as usual.
User was warned for this post
Dude. This is so far from appropriate for anywhere, especially a game dev forum. That makes me uncomfortable and I'm not even the target of your aims. Jesus.

They exist, they aren't encumbered with men. They just pick up the creepo vibes. Dial the creepy desperation down about ten notches.

Goals for 2020: Finish & release Lockheart Indigo, recover from 2019, be more involved on rmn, being a good friend/"mom" ...and also squats. Lots of squats.

...world domination sounds neat, but im saving that for 2030.
Not "what the fuck", you all don't give a fuck about freedom of speech; you don't even bother to consider if a post is meant as satire or not. That's my true goal in 2020 and beyond: I won't let anyone deny or compromise my freedom of speech rights, especially not snowflakes or hypocrites. You must be a fascist for warning people because of harmless posts like mine. Now swing your mighty ban hammer if you like - that's all broken people like you can do when being confronted with someone unbreakable like me. Actually, to make it easier for you: I was banned here before (you may remember the name Euphoniac), and I definitely won't register another account on this broken site ever again.
it's so "satire" that you're flipping out that people are cringing and feeling uneasy about your post lmao
I didn't say my post was satire, I said you don't even bother to consider if a post is meant as satire or not (which is something you should and must do if you're in charge of an internet site like the user with the misleading nick, "Liberty"). While I won't deny being a "creepy man" for having and articulating sexual desires, you MeToo pretenders and "Trumpists" are the real problem. Like Sturgeon's Law says: 90% of everything is crap, and that applies to people here and everywhere else, too.
"nothing can beat the power of gay"?
Haha that’s a pretty strong response to Libby who by all means gave a pretty reasonable and not even that aggressive warning

Also why are you complaining about people not considering whether your post was satire or not if you’re gonna say it wasn’t meant to be satire one post later
"nothing can beat the power of gay"?
Oh also my new years resolution is to finish a game and get good grades, aiming low this time since i couldnt meet any of my resolutions last year.

Max Thonks, well goal is tricky this year. First off, get rid of this damned flu so I can get *something* out for seasons event. And then, finish up 0.17 patch for perren game (then not work on it till revive event again) and work on scripting stuff for OldPat. Also get more exercise and get stronk this year. *challenges Harmy to squats...taps out after 20* It's been a bad winter of sick, but we gotta pull through!
This is why we can't have nice things

people are allowed to react to weird creep behavior. it sounds like you have issues to work out instead of ascribing buzzwords to people that don't want to put up with you. We've all done embarrassing shit but when other members react it's kind of a signal to stop doing the thing that's best kept to yourself, read the fucking room on what's acceptable and what's not. It's just a social self awareness thing and not a made up constitution thing btw.

Otherwise enjoy the mickey mouse hat and martyring yourself over the weirdest post of 2020 so far, I guess...
Guardian Gorgon of the Description Thread
It can be difficult to read something as satire, or joke, when there's no real indication that it is such. Like, I feel it could have gone done better as a joke if there was a certain tone can could be attached to it? Plain text doesn't really have a "tone" to it, though, so, we end up here, with the assumption that the statement is serious.

*Edit: The freedom of speech does not mean freedom of the consequences of that speech. Though, I think you've at least vaguely aware of that. Otherwise, you might not be so open to being banned. Like, you say something outlandish, perhaps for the specific purpose of getting people riled. What other response can there be but to be banned?

Though, I suppose all this is a moot point if you also admit to multi-accounting. Which has it's own consequence, as you are fully aware.
My resolution is to complete one serious game this year, stabilize my financial situation and stand up for myself more.
I want it to be the best
Like no one ever was
Not being a slacker is my real test
To gammak is my cause

I will travel across the net
Searching far and wide
Asking questions to understand
The power that's inside

Drekirökr! Gotta gammak this fall
It's you and me
I know it's my destiny
Drekirökr! Oh, I'm such a fiend
that I'm working I must pretend

Drekirökr! Gotta make it all
I got some glue
Our courage will pull us through
Gammak this, and gammak that
Gotta make it all, gotta make it all
Drekirökr! (?)

Whatever. I can't rhyme.
