I know you can have weapons that give a negative to some stats, but is there a way to make having a weapon or piece of armor that lowers the Max HP or MP or gives a negative status to the wearer? I've been fiddling with common events to get a weapon to lower the user's Max MP and it either completely drains MMP to zero or doesn't affect it at all. The closest thing I can find searching around is a thread Darken answered about Debuff skills last year.

This will remove 25% HP, as an example of how to do such a thing.
The switches keep it from continuously draining/adding to your HP after the first instance.

The top removes a set percent of Max HP and the bottom returns it after the weapon/armour is unequipped.
