2020 was a rough year for many people, but despite the darker times our world has been dealing with, creativity will continue to shine. Many great games came from the site and continue to bring smiles to peoples' faces, connect people with each other, teach and help people experience new worlds and ideas!

I hope this next year will also be one full of people playing and drumming up interest in each others' games - and that we can continue to discuss and support each other, both old and new, despite everything that has been going on lately!

That aside, Congratulations everyone who won!

Weird and Unfortunate Things are Winning was the big taker this year, but Beetle Ninja, Therapist and Exile's Journey also made their presence known. Here's hoping that this year's Misaos will be better than ever before!
Congratulations to all the winners, I love how the voteout turned in general for the past year, it seemed somewhat active :D here's to a new year making and playing games and enjoying ourselves! <3

Amen to that.

Though I'm still mad W&U didn't get nommed for Punniest.
How the fuck did I win an award? I was miles behind last I checked.

Congrats to all the winrars!

...Jokes aside, Going from a largely unknown game uploaded in feburary2020,
to getting 8 nominations, in December to winning 4 misaos is no small feat. Congrats 16-bitking!

This was a really good year. There are some things we can still do to improve,
but in terms of wins? I want every year to be like this one.

We got 10 really good games out of this year.

Congrats to Marrend and RpgmakerAddict and congrats to all the winners.

Thank everyone for voting! And a huge thanks to Marrend, RpgmakerAddict and LordBlueRouge for working so hard to keep the Misaos awesome!!! Marrend, that breakdown of all the categories and games is incredible and is so nice to see!!!!

A huge thanks to everyone who voted for Weird and Unfortunate, I didn't expect to win multiple categories, much less game of the year! Thank you for such an incredible honor! I want to thank Sooz, Maki, Roden, JosephSeraph and everyone else who helped, and a huge shoutout to all the testers who helped make the game the best it could be!

I am so hyped for 2021's Misaos! Let's get even more great games out there, so many of them deserve so much more attention than they get!!!

Congrats everyone! I'm glad to see this composition of winners and the kentona award was collected by different game than GOTY! I think the selection of winners represents 2020 great too!!! I'm glad Shooty and Catfish got something and I'm waiting for the full release of Suma Union, because that game's hype. The rest of games deserves they spotlight as well. They look great and from what I heard they play great too.
Also, super congrats to unity, I was afraid WaUTaH wouldn't win.
Congrats!!!! Funny how I voted some games for some specific categories and they ended winning others! Loool... anyway jokes aside there were a lot of great entries this year. I've still to play some of the winners here, but I plan to do that soon...

I'm happy to have been involved in 2020's Misao season, and to have made it extra-special/awesome! LordBlueRouge and I were talking about how my post with the category breakdown for nominated games could be more in line with what the official results should look like going forward. I'm personally not sure about the call-out to games that were merely mentioned, but, at the very least, have some running notes on notable event-games.

*Edit: If I must be completely honest, I think my excitement for the Misaos didn't really surface until last year. When there seemed to be the vaguest of possibilities that Baclyae Revolution might actually have been nominated, or even win, The "How the Hell Did They Do That?" Award something.

Congrats to everyone!

I'm really glad to see Exile's Journey and Beetle Ninja snag some awards! :D
Thank you everybody for voting for Beetle Ninja and allowing it to secure 4 wins this year, and congratulations to the other winners!
I'm very glad to see Beetle Ninja doing so well, and I hope that I can make more games like it in the future.
Therapist, Exile's Journey, and Shooty and the Catfish were all spectacular games as well: Therapist was exceptionally different concerning it's internal systems and had strong writing to boot, Exile's Journey gave me a very strong "tigsource" feel as though it were made decades ago and was just recently unearthed (in the best way possible), and Shooty and the Catfish was extremely charming and brought back lots memories of the old Newgrounds flash days.
Even though Weird and Unfortunate Things are Happening wasn't really my cup of tea in many ways, I can understand there's a strong appeal and large audience for games like it, particularly on RMN, and I can respect the grind of working on such a game for 4+ years: it requires some serious dedication and self-discipline to see such a long-term project through to it's conclusion.
Here's to hoping I can manage GOTY sometime!

Hey guys, I think there is a mistake ?
According to the results, "THERAPIST: Mind Manager" won the "Best Non English Game". ^^

Congratulations to everyone !

The thing that would make the most amount of sense for THERAPIST: Mind Manager to not be able to win "Best Non-English Game", despite the number of votes for it, is that wasn't released in a language other than English. If I had any clue that was even a thing, I would have absolutely included that in the announcement along with Exile's Journey being a non-contender for "Most Promising Demo".

Hopefully, having the Misaos curated, and using an external site for voting, will curtail such oddities/mishaps for this upcoming Misao season!
