WHAT VIDEOGAMES ARE YOU PLAYING RIGHT NOW?

Posts

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Etrian Odyssey Untold. All that I need for now. Although I really wanna buy and play Drakengard 3 ASAP, since I loved Nier so much. Will try to wait until I finish EO at least.

And MH4U can't come soon enough (no more underwater combat - HELL YES!, Tigrex will be back... OH SHI-!). Early 2015? It's not even mid-2014 goddamit... At least we are getting it.

By the way Atlus, where the hell is SMT4 for Europe? Are you waiting until I play through Persona 3 Portable, Soul Hackers AND Devil Survivor OC first? That is a lot of SMT games, sure(actually, that is quite a lot of quality gaming right there, but I WILL get through them eventually, especially P3P), but some release date would be nice.

And now I started playing Kingdom Hearts II.
At the moment is just as good as the first one!

I didn't even finished Dragon Quest VIII...

I think Nintendo are publishing, and are currently localizing it into various languages. I feel for you--I'm in London but I bought a US 3DS when the game was announced in Japan, anticipating a long delay. It's totally worth waiting for though, easily one of the 3DS's best games and one of the best SMT games too.

Exciting, but ultimately pointless.

I picked Gran Turismo 6 up again. I forgot how much fun the game can be, and they ironed out A LOT of problems that existed when the game first came out such as unpredictable load times, momentary game freezes (the game would halt for a fraction of second sometimes, like when crossing the finish line), and overall responsiveness of the game seems better. Really recommend this game to anyone who skipped Gran Turismo 5.

Don't remember off the top of my head, but I just started exploring B5F, which is the first place where my party wiped. Playing story mode on the hardest difficulty. It was going smoothly, I defeated a shiny FOE (for huge XP) but then I got greedy, wanted to unlock a shortcut so I kept going, even though my medic and alchemist didn't have any TP left. A random encounter came up with 2 war bisons, and I just didn't have enough damage without the alchemist spells to kill them before they offed the medic and protector. After that, I failed to run away twice, and the rest is history. Game over. Ouch. Lesson learned.

Also going to give Path of Exile another try after hearing my friend talk about it again, but since even the slightest lag/rubber-banding kinda ruins any action RPGs for me (looking at you, PC Diablo 3), I am not sure how that is going to go.

EDIT: Nope, with the lag/rubber-banding, Path of Exile is just not fun for me, I need a smooth experience in my ARPGs. Even the slightest delay when hitting enemies/enemies hit you just ruins the game for me. Pity, the skill/loot system is super cool, hope they would release an offline version, but that won't happen.

But it got me playing Titan Quest again, which is good!
@SmileWithStyle
Wow, you learned your lesson the hard way... ; D but, I see.
I'm playing on medium difficulty level I think, and I still find it really dangerous in the labyrinth.. I have to retreat often, just to be safe...

Got my hands on Darksiders today. I'm not sure I could follow the opening of that game. Like, what the hell is going on, here? The game throws a few faces/names I'm familiar with (Thanks for playing Darksiders 2 first!), so I could be a lot worse off than I could be if I did it the other way around.

Super Paper Mario.

I gag every time I look at Francis but shit is just too funny.

"Hey gaiz, I've been playing this game, Super Paper Mario -- its so high technicaaal! I can't wait to tell all my friends on RMN.nerr about it!"

Anyways, I've started playing Popful Mail (Sega CD ver) on the ol' emulator. First of all, pro-tip -- you need to have "perfect sync" on, or the game won't run. At least in Fusion, anyways.
I'm about 30 minutes in now, and its a pretty alright platformer/hack n slash kind of game. Its a bit on the tough side, since the localizers upped the enemy damage and reduced your mercy frames. Pair this with the existing combo of intertial platforming physics, full-sized hitboxes, and a fairly short sword reach, and you'll probably find yourself jumping into enemies a bit, and losing lots of health for it.
Some of the bosses are a bit on the cheap side, too. Namely, the golem boss has an attack where he just slides across the floor at the exact same speed that you can run. Worse than that is that if he hits you, you're on his back side, and he won't hesitate to just keep backing up until you get to the wall, at which point its forced damage. Thing is, he won't roll forwards past the stairs you use to enter the room, so you can just camp there as he walks and slides back and forth without any risk of damage. Kinda lame.

The main character really is Lina Inverse, though. The only difference is that she's an elf and she allocated all her stat points from magic into leg length and bust size.

Any reason for the PSX version and not the Wii remake?

I guess I like playing things in chronological order, also I like Klonoa's original design over the one he has now. :P
Funny thing is, however, that I never saw the Wii version sold ANYWHERE in stores during the time of its release. I might pick it up online, though.

Anyway, I started playing Skyrim after receiving it on my birthday. I'm having trouble getting the game to run smoothly, since it always seems to lag a bit even when I set the graphics quality to low. I also have yet to figure out how the combat works. x_x
Star Ocean 1 for the SNES ( on an emulator, obviously, since I'm playing the English translation ).

But I recently picked up Spec Ops: the Line. I got it because everyone has been saying it's different from other military shooters in all the right places.

... They were right. Dear god, they were right...

Trust me, by the end, it'll become one of the grimmest games you'll ever play.

And that's why I love it.

Sir Redd of Novus: He who made Prayer of the Faithless that one time, and that was pretty dang rad! :D

Since that post, I have since beaten it twice over. It is now my favorite shooter I have ever played for exactly that reason.

I think it's been about a week since I started Might and Magic X - Legacy? Anyway, it seems a bit laggy, despite the fact that I've set the graphic settings to be pretty minimal. Otherwise, it's a similar experience to the games in the 3-5 era. Which, frankly, I'm quite happy with. I may not care too much for Ilse of Terra, but the World of Xeen games are my favorite games in the series, if not for all time.

I almost want to get Heroes of Might and Magic VI for more of this game-world's backstory. Almost.

Could I BE any more Chandler Bing from Friends (TM)?

Taking a break from a lot of jRPGS and playing Final Fantasy Dissidia...which is still pretty jRPG-ish.

Story mode is fairly easy but I suck at getting DP. Also the level 17/18 characters are mental, but a lot of fun to play against (esp. Terra versus Ultimecia - total battle of wits there. I approve of the AI)

I just bought Castlevania Mirror of Fate, Assassin's Creed 3 and 4, Far Cry 3 and the Blood Dragon thing.
Also, my GF just showed me she has all 3 Mass Effect games. I am going to be playing a lot...

Finally got my hands on Forbidden Siren. Spooky game!
which one? I've considered the one on PSN like thousand times, but always the 5 euro pricetag seems too much. (No idea why, cuz i love horror games)

Anyways, i just got back from Japan and got few games real cheap. Dynasty Warriors 7 + xtreme legends, Metal Gear Rising, Bushido Blade 2 and LSD - Dream Simulator.

DW7 is okay, but as far as hack n slash games go, MGR is way more interesting and one of the funnest games i've played on PS3-era. DW7 will get playtime once i get someone to sit down with me. Bushido Blade wasn't quite as cool as i remembered but the concept is still one of a kind. I heard lots of praise when it comes to LSD, but honestly i regret getting it a little. It has it's moments.... But.... It's not very good game. I'll sink in few more days, maybe i get to see some really bizarre shit to convince me otherwise.

Oh and a friend of mine borrowed Persona 4 to me and so far it has gotten the most hours from all these games.

Edit, so i gave LSD another try, totally worth it. I was in this place that looked like someones intestine system. I saw a baby with a red appron there. Baby also noticed me when i got closer, got scared and ran away. I was chasing it, but the darn thing ran through a wall. I was a little bummed but then i heard some weird noices nearby. I checked the room next to me and found like 10 more babies jumping around!
