WHAT VIDEOGAMES ARE YOU PLAYING RIGHT NOW?
Posts
Added the Supernatural expansion to my Sims 3 game. Pretty goofy; I have to think of some way to make non-lame occult characters.
Also, playing Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel with my dad.

i mean my first occult was a gay fairy. the joy of the sims is that nobody knows how uncreative you are
I don't know WHY I haven't actually played Earthbound yet, what's wrong with me
Well, time to fix that!

Just accidentally screwed up oldest family in Sims 3 trying to fix a glitch. Put them back on lot only to find all their relationships & family tree data didn't exist anymore, must have deleted the original family or something. I don't know. Killed these imposters in a fiery blaze (that took FOREVER to eventuate).
I feel so defeated. XD

Okay, changed my opinion on Digital Devil Saga's dungeon-design, somewhat. At the very least, most of the environments are pretty eye-catching - even the ridiculously mazelike final dungeon (which I'm currently in), and a couple of puzzles are actually kinda intuitive.
Speaking of puzzles, some of the boss battles in this game have been really cool. My favourite so far is (Diety Isis spoilers):
Totally stealing the idea for my next project. :D
Unfortunately, there are still quite a few issues with gameplay overall. For example, while Save Points are a lot more commonplace than in Nocturne, I still find myself running around for 15 minutes at a time only to find a boss swoop down on me from outta nowhere and tear me to shreds. >_<

A boss that uses magic attacks based on what the player uses - i.e. if a character uses a fire-based spell, the boss responds with Agidyne, a 3rd-level fire attack. Also, every turn (IIRC) it someones a copy with which it can perform combo attacks, so if you're not careful you can have up to three enemies triple-teaming your ass.
The trick to winning is utilising your Elemental Void/Repel/Drain skills, as you'd know what to expect if you paid attention to your own attacks.
Naturally, the boss battle's incredibly easy once you figure out what's going on, but it's a very neat change to the random skill-picking that's common in many jRPGs.

Well it's on PSN, so technically I'm ready whenever. ;p Whether I will want to be ready or not is another question...at the moment I'm thinking I'll play something else after I finish this. I've still got X/X-2 HD Remaster in my backlog...
No actually. I've basically sped through the game with very little attention to side quests. I guess I could give it a shot if it I don't have to Void Death every turn or something (Nocturne Bub: never forget)
@Craze meh I'm happy with the Sims 3. I'll wait for all the expansion packs & patches et cetera for 4 to come out before I sink any money into it.
The side quests give you some really neat items in DDS2 (but i didn't have the patience to finish dds2 so make of that what you will!)
I've been playing a bit of Wasteland 2. I completed Highpool, and have pretty much just arrived at the Ag Center. I must say, the gameplay feels a lot like Fallout Tactics, though the references to the original Wasteland definitely put a smile on my face.
In an effort to complete the Mother trilogy, I'm playing Earthbound Zero/Mother 1.
It's an interesting game. The 80's JRPG game design kind of wears down on me a little, but so far I'm kind of enjoying it.
I'm currently in the Snowman area, dragging the corpse of Lloyd along with me and catching colds from inconsiderate NPC bastards.

I really liked HM for DS, but it wasn't exactly polished. How's the translation/localization? Can you be gay?
An update for this question! While you can't be gay, per se, after the second story arc (it's longer than it sounds) you can change your appearance to look like anyone else in the game, including the other lead character. You can also change your name at any time via an NPC. What does this mean?
It's very possible to play as a female up to the end of the second arc. Then change your appearance to that of the male main character and change your name (if you didn't already use a male name). Then you can pretend you were male all along and still go after all the eligible bachelors because the game has triggered you as a female, even if you look male~
Add in that you can choose various names for your lovers to give you, and that most people in the game refer to your boy/girlfriend as lover instead of using gender pronouns... it's very possible to, after the second arc, play gay if you so wish~ ^.^
It is a pity that it's not straight out applicable from the beginning but it was nice of them to allow it at all, and to keep the pronouns non-gendered~ :DDD
It's a jRPG/farming simulation. With how slow society is to catch up with homosexuality and the embracement there-of, especially in Japan, it's a miracle they even included the option. Someone on the team was doing the sneaky and if it just so happened that this meant you could 'technically' date another guy while looking like a guy, well...
That said, doing some checking about it - if you are talked about by other NPCs they will use the default pronoun. You also can't go in the opposite genders' bath. Still, that they included the option at all is nice. Now if only they'd allow for it legitimately...

author=Ratty524If you're not too concerned with getting the original, authentic experience, Starmen.net made a patch that doubles EXP/Money from battles to cut down on the grinding.

I've never played the game myself, so I don't know how much easier this really makes things.
I've had gaming ADD lately and have just been playing lots of stuff at random.
Metal Gear Rising is crazy awesome! I just wish there was a WiiU version or support for PlayStation Move.
Cotton 2: Magical Night Dreams is an oddball Japan-only shooter. Your regular shot, even at max strength, is not terribly useful, so the bulk of the game actually revolves around using your various magic spells that you can pull off with fighting-game-style special motions. Killing an enemy with a magic spell seals them in a bubble, which you can then pick up and throw at other enemies to seal them in bubbles. Or you can just directly pick up an enemy (and some projectiles) and chuck them around, too.
Its pretty fun, actually, its just that pulling off the motions for the spells is really awkward. There's an option to put the spells on the Saturn controller's extra buttons instead, but you can't have that AND auto-fire, so when you want to actually just shoot things you have to mash like a maniac.
Also recently finished Ilo Milo + DLC. Its a pretty solid puzzle game with a ridiculously adorable aesthetic, so I can easily recommend it to anyone here.
