Some of you kids are expensive! Especially you Ness. Jesus. O_o

(I could do with a Cintiq myself, personally)

But Cintiq, is every artists dream!

Yeah yeah. Tell me about it. =)

Rei: Unless you are a serious artist, I wouldn't bother. Just get an Intuos.
@DD: it looks like about $2,800 right now (that's shipping included) Canadian.

However, I don't plan to buy it until the summer, so it should become quite a bit cheaper. Man, I can't wait.

To be honest.. Nothing. I mean I have money I earn of my own so whenever I want something I will usually check if theirs nothing I need the money for first then wait and get it later, unless it was something I'd been expecting/really wanted like Gears of War 2 when it was released.

But ahh yeah I have nothing that I would really have any need for in my life that I couldn't get some other time.
EDIT: Okay so my first reply was extremely hostile.

Anyway, I think that this sort of thing is disgusting. Christmas as a consumer product is really gross. It is wonderful to think of gifts for people and to buy someone some small thing they would never get for themselves (I am going to purchase a cheap toaster oven for my roommate because I am moving out and he uses the toaster oven every day), but . . . lists of electronics and video games and expensive things like this really bother me a lot.

ENEMY OF MY FOREFATHERS

As I get older, I notice that the number of presents with my name on them become smaller and smaller. There are a handleful of things I could use but are too pricy for my family, so I end up just telling them to get me food.

Christmas sure used to rock when I was a kid. :|
... I already got everything anyone could possibly get me. Really not going over the top with Christmas this year. My parents are giving me £30 and that's about it.

However, I have bought shit loads of stuff lately from an unexpected bursary and some overtime at work, including:

- 360 Games
- Tomb Raider: Underworld (Collector's Edition)
- Sonic Unleashed
- Saint's Row 2
- Spider-Man: Web of Shadows
- Rock Band 2
- Guitar Hero: World Tour
- Gears of War 2
- Naruto: Broken Bond
- Last Remnant
- Fallout 3 (Collector's Edition)
- Left 4 Dead
- Art supplies
- Paid rent, bills and tuition
- Limited edition 15th anniversary Sonic statue
- PlayArts Sora figure
- Manga
- Bleach volumes 20 to 25
- Naruto volumes 15 to 33
- Neon Genesis Evangelion volumes 8 to 11
- GeForce 9500GT graphics card
DVDs
- Hancock
- Lethal Weapon boxset
- Lee Evans Live at O2
- Lain 1 to 4
- Naruto Season 4 Part 2
- The Dark Knight
- Wayne's World 1 & 2

Then there's presents I bought for other people

Dad
- Only Fools and Horses series 1 to 7 boxset

Mum
- Rose wine

Grandparents
- Lee Evans Live at O2
- Bottle of Bell's whiskey

Girlfriend
- PlayArts Roxas figure
- Fullsize Kingdom Keyblade (she's a giant KH fan, what can I say?)
- Skulls (DVD she used to love, lent to a friend and never saw again)

I can't say what I got my housemate as he has a tendancy to lurk on and occasionally post on these forums.

... I went a little nuts on that spending spree, huh?

I basically wanted just a laptop and we couldn't afford it so I asked for an Xbox 360, couldn't afford that. SO I made a list of all these things and to pick from that list.

Christmas never rocked in my life. O_o Lucky you.

Aaaanyways, I'd probably like...
-A bought version of VX (It's too fun for me >_>)
-Definitely a new internet connection...mine is WAY too old (about 7 years to be specific)

Forgot to say...There's no chance I'll be getting any of those any time(perhaps never), due to bad grades and some personal reasons I don't feel like discussing at the moment.
I much prefer gifting to receiving. I pride myself on being a fairly excellent gifter. I can generally find people stuff that fits them. This year, though, I'm so spent from school that I haven't had any time to hit the mall for my friends. Also, my parents and I have the nasty tendency to be completely inscrutable and thus very difficult to get presents for.

As a kid, I never really knew what I wanted, or at least, the things that I wanted were not things that anyone could buy for me (like undiscovered ancient magical tomes... yeah, I was a weird kid.) My parents were both well-meaning and willing to give the world to me. They got me game systems, dolls, action figures, and of course (they are engineers) interactive science trivia books and chemistry sets. But really, the things I enjoyed were the ones they made themselves, like my rocking horse (the exception is the dollhouse they built for me which I rarely used... I'm not a dollhouse person). I didn't play with toys though, nor videogames all that much. I preferred the stuff in my own head to things anyone else could manufacture or buy. Hubris at a young age, I know, but I've always had this hang-up about doing things myself.

This year is really the first year I actually want things. Nothing is too extravagant... I always feel weird when people spend a lot on me.
I used to remember when people would say spending time with the family was the best christmas gift they could have. :P
People said that? Man I'm young.

My brother and I have an agreement: Christmas commercialism is regayded, so we don't buy anything for each other.
A bathroom with a door and a sink that isn't the tub. The floor would be icing on the cake.
A midi-controller keyboard and a quality microphone. :~
Dudesoft
always a dudesoft, never a soft dude.

I'm looking forward to spending time with the family I've been neglecting this year.
