PROJECT LL - LOGO

I just wanted to post up some art of a project I'm working on right now. It hasn't been announced and it's probably stupid to post this up but oh well. Not everyone likes the title either. It's The Last Legend.

So here is the logo design:

And here it is as a title image. I think title images should usually be dark. But if you guys like the brighter one, I'll probably just use it.

I kind of want to put a drawing of the main characters in there. Very much like a Final Fantasy logo, but I'm just not sure. After staring at the logo, it looks like a space themed RPG. Damn, it's supposed to be fantasy themed. Hm, maybe I'll figure something out.

But really, I want your opinion.
I think the black background takes away from the cool smokey image.
My first thought: Lose the lens flare.

Yeah, I made the black one first actually. So maybe I'll just use a brighter background. The black definitely looks spacey to me. Thanks for posting your thoughts. So do you happen to like the look? Or is it too generic?

Really? The lens flare is nice I thought. Maybe I should tone it down a bit? If I lose that lens flare then the rainbow will be gone hard to see.
Not only does it hurt the readability, it looks very desperate and newbish. I have never see the default photoshop lens flare ever used well. I'm not sure what you can do to "replace it" but you really should rely more on text form and placement than pretty glowy effects everywhere.

edit: here are some good examples btw

These titles do not rely on flash but just a very readable presence.
The lens flare would be cool in an animation overlay but for static logo it looks clustered with a white light over it.
haha i like the lens flare
shiny
I actually like the lens flare. I mean yeah, it would look better without it, but its not awful looking like all other lens flares.

But good job on the title man, it looks pretty damn professional! By the way, I like the white version more. Just to let you know.

Yeah, I see what you are saying here. But I want this game to be flashy. Just because it's a game made in RPG Maker XP, that doesn't mean it can't be all flashy like big console games. I understand what you are coming from. I'm going to mess with it some more to try and make it easier to quickly read. Readability is as important as the overall appeal.

Yeah, I want to animate it. But...I'm not so great at that. I'm trying to work on it a little bit more to make it not look so clustered.

I want the logo to look similar to Final Fantasy but that's just bare without something extra. I'm not very good at drawing so I can't put character art behind it.

I played with the logo a little. Tell me what you think.
