A REQUEST FOR QUESTS!

I need some ideas for some side quests. I plan to have a LOT of quests in my game, aside from story related quests, but I need a bit of help figuring some out here. I will take the ideas I like, and I will give full credit!

Edit: Thanks to infection files, very, very good point.

The game is set in a medieval fantasy world, and is an ABS. Think a mix between Zelda, Crystalis and Sword Of Mana, and you've got the basics of my game.

the world ends in whatever my makerscore currently is

Some information on your game would help alot!
Like what is the setting, time period(future/medieval), that sorta stuff.

then maybe people will be able to suggest side quests that make sense!
Interesting quests are multi part quests, for instance one guy was robbed by this man with an eyepatch, then you ask people around, one of the people know where he may be, either you pay him for info or beat him up, then you will find his hut, there will be dead body, you will find a letter with some involvement of cult, you will ask about that cult, people will tell you where they make the rituals you go there, there you will find man with eyepatch, he will be some possesed wacko, you kill him with his henchmen, take his head, give it to officials, give stolen goods back everyone happy or you could ally with that wacko, he could teach you some stuff so that you may infiltrate the cult, destroy them or join them. Put some twists and mysteries into it, games arent about chores, but about having fun. Make quests some side stories or if you want to some chores with rewards like take boxes from one end to another, or kill x amount of wolfs.
I'm not asking for chore-style quests, instead, I would like some interesting quests that are either multi-part quests or quests that really develop the world, while being completely optional.

The perfect game (in terms of side-quests) in my opinion is Majora's Mask. My game has a similar day/night system where different people happen, as well as having days (but not only three, there are unlimited days) which allows for quests to happen only at certain times.

For example, one of the quests I have put in, which takes advantage of the time system is:
Women have been going missing at night for many months now. Although it seems there are some days where there is no danger, the town has decided that from the moment the sun falls, no women are to be out of doors. This had prevented it for some time, but now, women are still vanishing, sometimes from out of their own bedrooms. The Mayor, desperate for help, has put a reward out for anyone who can solve the case.

In areas around the city, you can search. There is a 1 in 20 chance you will find the monster (20 maps surround the city) but only at night... and ONLY during a full moon. Obviously, the beast is a were-wolf, and after defeating the monster, it turns back into his human form... and you bring him in. The mayor rewards you with a hefty stat increase as well as some gold.

That's the type of quest I am looking for. Something that has more thought to it, rather than kill x amount of wolves.
Fetch this.
Save that.
Kill X.
Escort Y.
Dudesoft
always a dudesoft, never a soft dude.

Bonehead had a pretty good one.

I also recommend being hired by a witch hunter, and you can sentence women to death across the world. Also, don't use that idea, I'm going to make a game out of it.
kentona wrote a pretty sweet quest generator a while ago if I remember that involved using 2 six-sided dice.

PAGING KENTONA
The Lazy Quest-o-matic

Having trouble coming up with that last quest needed to finish your game? Need a few diversionary sidequests and are fresh out of ideas? Then grab a normal six-sided die and start The Lazy Quest-o-matic. Make two rolls, and apply the results as below:

First Roll:
If Roll is: The action of the quest is to:
1 Liberate/Recover/Intercept
2 Destroy/Kill
3 Guard/Defend
4 Transport/Escort/Journey To
5 Create/Build/Summon
6 Gather Information About

Second Roll:
If Roll is: The object of the quest is to:
1 Item
2 NPC
3 Message/Data
4 Secret or Dangerous Location
5 Magical Equipment/Technology
6 Monster

Note for all the actions that there are contingencies separated by slashes. It would be pretty strange to Escort a Dangerous Location. You are, of course, not restricted to this list. Make your own list, or use a higher-numbered die. Or add a third die with a setting (cave/dungeon, forest, tower, temple, castle/village, swamp).

Disclaimer: This is a place to get a quest idea started. Overly randomized games tend to be disorganized and somewhat silly. Employ quests that are tied in to the problem and circumstances of your world.

You forgot searching quests.

You could just do "Gather Information About/Search for"

Edit: Actually, "Search" is basically "recover"
I have a dice right here...

Guard / Defend Magical Equipment / Technology.

ok I have an idea.

The king of X has tasked you with carrying a magical staff to a wizard on the frontlines. The staff cannot be teleported. All of the other soldiers are already fighting against the X. They need this healing staff to either win the fight or heal the men to win the battle! Only you can do it!

But it won't be easy. Underlord Y has wanted that staff, ever since the humans stole it from his father's dead hand in the battle of Drakewing. He will use his deadly, tunneling forces and their earth magic to get the staff back at the pass of narrow passage!

Travel to a village where you will meet an old man that can take you to the passage, but he can go no further... but why? Is it because he is frightend & feeble or because he works for the Underlord Y or because he is the Underlord Y in disguise? Dun dun dun!

Book it!
ooo that was fun! Thinking of quests is so much easier than making them!!! Rolling the dice.

Transport / Escort / Journey to Secret or Dangerous Location

Well... that sounds a lil stereotypical already. Technically didn't I just do that?

In a castle, you meet a servant with credible threats to the queen. The maid overheard the king's plot to kill her. The assassin will kill the queen as she sleeps and he is away at battle. The perfect plan. The king could just have the beloved queen beheaded, but his people would rebel and he'd be overthrown. Especially when the people see his young consort.

First you need the maid's help to distract the queen's guards as you slip into her room to find the assassin! After being victorious, the assassin escapes out the window. The queen wakes to find you sword in hand and screams. Guards break in, catch you and throw you in prison with the maid that distracted the guard. You're all obviously in it together to murder the queen.

Your party and the maid need to escape to save the queen before the assassin returns the next night to kill her again! Will you bribe a guard? Find a secret passageway infested with bugs? You need to help the weak and frail maid make it out of there alive.

Solid?
How about a quest where you have to go to certain areas and fight someone each area. You can call it Family Man and have Guile's Theme playing throughout the whole quest.

I might use that dice thing for creating quests for my current game. That's a really good technique!
