PROBLEMS WITH SITE LOADING PROPERLY
Posts
I honestly have a hard time trying to see these perceived differences in browsers that aren't IE. I never had a problem with.... whatever it is you're having in Chrome.
well, in my user interface design class, we were instructed avoid changing the behaviour of commands based on the state of the software. (generally, a better option is often to disable the command and enable a different one for the different behaviour, or alternatively give an indication that the state has changed).
author=kentonaauthor=geodudemost assuredly, but mistakes can be made, and an inadvertant one-too-many-clicks can happen. and sometimes I want to clear my browser history (so instead of 'closing all tabs - going to Options > clear history' I have to 'close all tabs but one, open new tab, close that last tab - go to options > clear history' or 'close all tabs - restart chrome - go to options > clear history')
surely at some point you might've thought not to close all the tabs, since you don't need to at any point
or just options > clear history

anywho, if it is that hard to imagine that someone might take exception to Chrome making assumptions for them, I guess I better start using Chrome! +1 chrome user
I cannot fight this there is no other choice
*downloads chrome*
EDIT:
I really am downloading it right now. I thought I had it installed on this machine, but it turns out I didn't! I am making a simple webpage for work and I need to see how the CSS renders the page.
Also, I think Chrome is a great browser and I am glad that more and more people are using it.
EDIT2:
I *had* downloaded it months ago, but I didn't install it!

oh yeah...NOW I remember why I don't have it installed! I get this error when I run the installer:
EDIT:
okay, I did manage to install it, but I get that error message whenever I start Chrome.
EDIT2:
Ah. I have Symantec Endpoint Protection installed and running.
EDIT3:
oh right, I have --no-sandbox turned on at home and that's why Chrome runs.
EDIT4:
well this is annoying. I can't browse with Chrome unless I edit the registry and reboot, or turn off sandboxing by using a command line option.

Is it just the fact that the site doesn't work right for me or is it that I just can't find the place to insert blogs, downloads, etc.?
An answer about where to look would be helpful.

If you are using Internet Explorer version 6 (an old, shitty, and obselete web browser), it would explain why you can't view the site properly. Go into "help > about" and it will tell you the version (6 or 7).
That somehow stemmed into "download this browser/ that browser."
Mozilla Firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
-Most widely used 3rd party browser, all around good choice
Opera: http://www.opera.com/
-I have nothing against it, but I've never really used it
Google Chrome: http://www.google.com/chrome
-Mostly techies and hipsters use this. It's actually a featureless nightmare if you are just switching browsers for the first time, and requires addons if you want it to do the same things firefox does.

Definitely install firefox anyway because it's a great browser, and use that from now on.
Have you done a spyware scan recently? You might have something weird installed that's messing with some site's style sheets.

I'm with kentona on hating how chrome exits when you close all your tabs. Minimalist UI is done wrong when it requires more work from the user.

Firefox is king

I really see no reason why to use any other browser, or really care about using something else for that matter.
A browser is a browser.
