After joining rpgmaker.net, we already assume you are interested in RPGs...anything else about yourself that you'd like to share? Also, start with RMVX. It's pretty easy to learn and use the base program. And then once you've mastered that, there are scripts to extend it.

I want to advocate sphere of course (for a start it is legally free) but, it isn't easy to start I'd be lying if I said it was (have a look at my recent tutorials if you want to see the sort of level of work it requires.

@Rhuan: Just be careful I tried "advocating" Sphere on GW and it made a certain work in progress really mad. Hahaha.

I ended up getting RPG Maker VX. It's not too hard I only spent a few hours on it and I already made a map with it! Next I will try to learn to make events. I think I will be able to make my first game soon!
