I MADE IDEA GENERATORS

I wish I could make a random game generator... but since I can't, in the meantime I'll have to settle for this. >>
- Party generator
- Quest generator
- Regions generator
- Game generator
- Weapons & tiers generator
- Equipments & tiers generator
- Foes generator

Here it is >> http://rpgmaker.net/users/ShortStar/locker/questgen7.swf

There are other generators out there, but I tried to design this one specific for RPG Maker games. If anyone knows how to hack RPG Maker... one day I can make this generate basic games.

Let me know what you think! Thanks.
I'm sure its not perfect.

um...I'm just gonna quote this from someone I forgot, and it's not a real quote because it's not exact, but here it is, "How about I use a button that creates the game for me", you know, that's a little lazy and un-fun, and it's not even your own work! At least give the makers a little work on their own game!

Edit:Oh! I should start looking at the links before I talk about them! But what about the game generator idea?

My question is : how does the maker fit that in his(her) own personal story ?
I like your idea generator, it's rather interesting, and worth looking at. Even I don't mind having help coming up with the ideas at times.
like 99% of things are "practice".

Otherwise pretty cool.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

You are to escort a nasty mutant to a empty desert south-west of the decaying shrine. Along the way you will need to negotiate with a crazy woman to fulfill the mission. Inside the empty desert you will find a dark version of itself.

Tony Deonarine is the name of the nasty mutant. This mutant is proficient with flachalancy and can usually be found at a bar dancing with the ladies.

This is hilarious and fantastic. This is, honestly, how I feel like some RPG Maker games (and commercial games) come up with their plot ideas. And I expected the whole program to be universally terrible, but in truth, parts of it are surprisingly decent, especially for a first attempt. In fact, I kinda think clicking this and following it for the monsters would be a massive improvement to a lot of RPG Maker games (and commercial games!).

I'm not sure what's going on with the equipment; do you have some sort of crafting system in mind? Why do 95% of the items have Practice in the name? Are these supposed to be real special effects, or just flavor text for generic items? RPG Maker doesn't include the ability for equipment to burn up or rust, by default. I kinda think just listing effects like +5 str, fire resistance, heavy equipment would be more useful.

I would make the weapons and armor only create one tier of equipment. The monster creater makes one dungeon worth of equipment and the plot generator makes one dungeon worth of plot; I think that is the perfect amount to generate at a time and if you're serious about this being useful, I'd make the weapons and armor match.

I guess the plot generator could work if you had a game with dozens of small optional quests; I certainly wouldn't use it for anything meaningful, as it only creates enough plot for 1-2 dungeons, and that plot feels like it has a low importance level (it always either consists of doing an errand for someone else, or gives no motive).

I can't really imagine a sensible use for the region generator, as that's something that I imagine almost anyone being able to come up with on their own in the amount of time it takes to click the button, and you typically only need one per game.

Monsters are actually really good. You can always add more archetypes, of course, but I can't find a fault with them as they are.
Game generator idea? I made one of those last year like steampunk fantasy set in modern day or goth mideval killing world or historical black and white game where machines have taken over.

And yes clicking a button and generating your game would be dull... but its fun for me to make it. And chances are a RPG generator that actually makes the game would be more basic than human imagination.

As for how the generator can fit his or her personal story... its pretty generic and would fit any game.
You are to visit an attractive commoner in a decrepit settlement south-west of the haunted tower. Along the way you will need to rescue an injured girl to get the information you will need to complete the mission. Inside the decrepit settlement you will find a few switch puzzles.

Betsey Mawyer is the name of the attractive commoner. This commoner is proficient with a club and can usually be found in the company of a consort.

Well, there is no better motivator to do something incredibly stupid than someone hot.
This area is crawling with six types of enemies. Each of which has a femminine characteristic.

Shit. I hope none of them are any JRPG heroes...
About practice... its a tiered system. That's tier 1. There's 50 tiers. I probably should put less tiers or make it so you pick how many tiers. When you advance the tiers you'll see a change.

Perhaps I should generate why you're doing it too? If you're commanded by a king or if you only want to do it because she's hot? Or will you get gold out of it?

And thanks Lockez for calling it surprisingly decent :-) I think I've spent maybe 12 hours on it in all. 4 hours on the monsters thing this morning. 3 hours on the equipment and weapons.

Actually Locks let me give your statement a more thurough read and I'll probably add to it.
Femminine characteristics maybe that's not the best word but those in the femminine are >> mistress, maiden, lark, cat, cheshire and others that I can't remember right now.

Oh and its a quest generator not a plot. Plot is something totally different and would require more time.

Plus that's not actual dialog. If I could hack RPG Maker code I'd make dialog. Or I could always make copy and paste dialog, but I'm no magnificent writer.

Version 3 is up that only does 1 tier of weapons and 1 tier of armor. Makes kind of a grab bag of random stuff.

Tiers up through like 45 are practice, though. That's why I said it was almost all practice items.

can't make a bad game if you don't finish any games

This cracks me up; a lot. I could see whipping up a quick game that does something like this to generate content. Oh wait; Craze already did. Either way, this is nice and I could see even competent RMers using it to get inspired; after all, nothing generated here has to be used as anything more than a starting point.

This is pretty fantastic!

You are to visit an arrogant princess in a charming desert south of the dangerous fortress. Along the way you will need to sleep in a dangerous sleeping bag to get the potency you will need to complete the mission. Inside the charming desert you will find a few switch puzzles.

Jennine Racko is the name of the arrogant princess. This princess is proficient with guns and can usually be found in isolation due to paranoya.
You are to escort a powerful count to a vibrant graveyard south-east of the decrepit tunnel. Along the way you will need to sleep in a palacial hut to get the magic you will need to complete the mission. Inside the vibrant graveyard you will find two traps that involve poison.

Branon Kwit is the name of the powerful count. This count is proficient with telepathy and can usually be found in bed chambers.

Hundreds of neat ideas that you can accomodate to your own story, interesting! I have a old temple were 4 minigames-initiations will permit you to access somewheres, and i don't have any ideas for the 2 last initiation-minigames : there they are, THANKS, SHORTSTAR ! (remains the technical ability to realize those minigames, but that's another story.)

Someone really needs to make a game out of these

You are to defeat a playful demon in a grand shrine west of the fiery lighthouse. Along the way you will need to collect five crystals to complete the mission. Inside the grand shrine you will find two locked doors.

Hugger is the name of the playful demon. This demon is proficient with martial arts and can usually be found in a bath of swamp water.

Cool Shortstar! Is it limited, and does it run out of ideas? :(
