Attack on DEMON! A very short tale of potions & pitchforks!

Heyyy how are you?
Today I'll analyze "BOSS DEMON: Boss Demon's Bad Curse", a RPG Maker VX Ace complete game made by Farfin in 2017, and the only game I see here on Rpgmaker.net, anyway this developer has several other games on itch.io, many playable on browser too, so check them out: https://farfin.itch.io/.

I know, recently I played a lot... no wait, I mean A LOT of short games, but this will probably be the shortest game I played! 5-8 minutes no more, no save options, nothing. At least it's a totally linear experience... well more or less, but let's start from the beginning!

Vehna is our alter ego, a young mage specialized in potion brewing. Should I say alchemist? Well in any case she's at academy to demonstrate her new potion, that is related to teleporting. As usual the BOSS DEMON is trying to attack the academy, but he is always repelled by the magical barrier, so there's nothing that can worry the students. Maybe.
Then something goes wrong and suddenly...

I do not know, but I believe it's Rpgmaker that makes characters huge when exploring the main map! Isn't it?

... Vehna is teleported somewhere (also wearing only a sort of gown instead of her mage robes, but she does not seem to notice her sudden change of clothing). Well not exactly where he was supposed to appear, of course.
But the biggest surprise is that the world around her has changed. Or maybe she did change somehow?
Surely the evil BOSS DEMON is involved, that'ìs sure! Well play and see what happens next!

Oh, but be aware that even if this game apparently looks like a classical jrpg (here is an inventory, Vehna has the classical characteristics of RPG Maker VX Ace heroes including hitpoints) it's instead a sort of little visual novel: all combat encounter are extremely simple (just attack, attack and attack!), there are no real decisions or choices, and there is just one ending. Well, to tell the truth there are some totally optional interactions and some other actions (like using some items in the inventory or equipping them) that will add extra dialogues and comments by Vehna and/or some npc.

Visually the game is pretty... very pretty! I love good custom pixel art, and this was really good: characters are funny and expressive, the world is colorful and rich of many little details. It's rather impressive, pity that there are just two maps and the cast consists of a handful of characters: Vehna and her friends, some extras and the BOSS DEMON, of course! Anyway it's all of high quality and well made. What else? Nothing much, I guess! Music and sounds are the usual Rtps, so it's better moving and check the final verdict!

Vehna seems to be quite happy to annoy people. Not cool, not cool at all!

Final Verdict
Ok, summing up "BOSS DEMON: Boss Demon's Bad Curse" is exactly like one of these awesome gourmet dishes that look great, taste good... but in the end you will finish it too early, leaving you wanting for more! Even if this game is complete, the ending will surely leave you wondering "then what will happens now?".
Well nothing at all! Because the developer said the story is finished and there is no sequel planned, really. Heh I am really sad to give you this information, and maybe it will leave a bad taste, especially after you will witness the ending cutscene... BUT this is a pretty good... uhm story? Experience?? Adventure???
I'd say "game" but there is not a lot to play. Anyway it's extremely well done, professionally made and the graphics is both nice and original (I can forgive the use of Rtps music and sounds).

Try it, you need just less than ten minutes to enjoy the story, anyway I suggest you to explore every corner, talk to everyone, use every item and so on in order to experience this adventure fully.
