Submission accepted - Youtube video - Short rant??

So, first of all, I'm am really surprised that my game got accepted so quickly? Like, I submitted it yesterday? Wow!
I'm really happy tho, good job admins (I am really new here, they are the ones who look through all the submissions and stuff, right?) and thank you!

Anyways, I made a small uninformative and super cringey youtube video about the game, more or less announcing it and celebrating that my submission got accepted. Soooo... I hope I'm not gonna regret this later - but here:




I am really excited and motivated to (keep) working on the game!
And I'll try to post updates when something interesting happens. Or when I make a big change. Or when I make a small change. Or something.

Okay, so small rant coming up. I hope this won't disqualify this blog post as a progress report.

I'm kinda unsure about how to make friends on this site?? I don't mean people who comment something like "oh ur game looks cool lol" and don't wanna have anything to do with me, but people who are nice and genuinely wanna talk to me. (Oh fuck, reading this, I realize that I sound like an edgy emo teen looking for someone who "really gets me and the darkness of my soul". Kill me.)

I mean sure, I want people to notice my game, but this is a community - and as far as I can tell, looking at the forums, (translation: I obsessively stalked this site long before I even thought about making my own game) it seems like pretty much everyone on this site is awesome.

I'm really (imagine a french accent here) socially retardè - and I can be awkward as all hell. But I'm willing to try.

So... yeah.
This rant was even cringe-ier than my youtube video.
Sorry about that. I'm done.

Your game got accepted so fast because I just happened to check the queue yesterday. It was a matter of really good timing!

One way to make friends here is to engage with people. Got to some of the art-based threads (screenshot thread, art wip thread) and/or the Welp area of the forum and just post. Get to know people. Give feedback on game pages. Check out the discord and chat there with others.

Putting yourself out there will get at least a few results after all. ^.^)b

Also, you can embed videos by using the youtube tags. You just have to have the proper link type in order for them to work. Your youtube link should be laid out like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEMutTOPX2c

Yeah, I kinda expected that I had to wait a few days, so it was a really nice surprise! Also, thanks for working so hard! I can only imagine that it can be really stressfull to look through so many games. Do you do this all alone?

Yeah, about that, I noticed the quad-post in your introduction thread. Next time, put it all in one post! A good rule of thumb to follow is that if it's been less than 24 hours since the post in question, use the edit button. More than that, you may post again.

Every time we offer to help, she beats us back with a stick.

Also, if you need an icebreaker in getting to know people, we happen to have an event going on right now that could help you get a foot in the door. Talk to the people there, comment on interesting updates/screenshots they post, and give their games a try once they're submitted. Events on RMN are a great way to network, so go wild!

Yeah, you got it right. If you need to add a reply, just edit it in instead of posting again if it's within 24 hours.

Only mods can delete posts, but most of the time we just delete multiposts due to site glitches. The usual process for fixing multiposts is the person will consolidate all their posts into one megapost, and I or another mod will delete the blank posts if we catch them.
