In all fairness, bird shrapnel isn't as deadly as wood shrapnel

Entirely hand drawn? Wowzers, I may not have any real experience with visual novels but this looks intense. :o
Congratulations on the release.

@AtiyaTheSeeker Not the backgrounds, I cheated a bit in that respect :x Though I think that might be a bit obvious that they're photo filters, haha. I was on a four week deadline for this thing and Unreal 4 is... unsupportive of visual novels to say the least. The VN system with the dialogue boxes took the longest, about one and a half weeks, whereas the images were done in three days.

@tale Thanks!

Why Unreal engine?

It was, unfortunately, a course requirement, as this was made for a game development class. Unreal's much better suited for 3D, so the course's main focus was that, but I was free to do as I liked for the final project. So I set about coding (er, "visually scripting") a VN system that ended up taking half the time I was allotted...

...Did you know Unreal 4 has no native support for dialogue boxes? ._. I ended up using about 16 or so arrays and two variables to contain the entirety of the game's dialogue. 16 mostly for organizational reasons, one for each section between each background shifts and/or choice.
