More of an idea than anything else.

Developer: Muffle

Story: You're in a room with three people observing you. You don't know who they are. You don't know who you are. You don't even remember how to speak. The woman, Linda encourages you to look around the room and try to remember.

Writing: The game was incredibly short with almost no gameplay to speak of. There's an interesting idea here, but it seems to only be a premise. Incredibly short, you learn about your life through brief textual flashbacks, and once your memory is jogged the game is over. This idea needs to be explored and delved into. It's a bit disappointing because the idea offers a rather provocative story but the payoff is relatively tame. I don't want to spoil the ending for those who feel differently about it than I do, so I will simply say that this game really looks like the introduction to the story. I'd be hardpressed to even call this a first chapter. To the developer, I would say explore an idea like this. Consider everything a story like this has to offer. Read books and watch movies about the consequences of what happens when people mess with their own minds.

Gameplay: Again, very little to speak of. You simply observe everything in the room, and then the game is done. Talk to everyone if you like, but they ultimately have little impact on what happens. This actually feels more like an experiment in design technique. Again, I have to reiterate that this game only feels like part of an idea. I'd be really interested in seeing this explored.

Graphics: Straight RTP, use just fine. Those uncanny valley face generator sets are ever present, but the developer can hardly be blamed for that since the graphics probably took a back seat to the game's real purpose. This was clearly an experiment in the use of switches and variables. One thing, you really need to be careful with window skin colors. I couldn't see the cursor on the title screen, and I could barely see it on the choice menus.

Sound: RTP. Nothing to really discuss.

Conclusion: Again, this is a premise, and it's an interesting one. There's potential for a great story, but first, you'll need to explore the premise. It would be absolutely worth exploring this and seeing where it goes.

I'm actually surprised I got a rating of three. This was basically a premise of another game I have coming and was definitely an experiment more than anything else. I feel it was done sloppily though I think I did get the main point across of what was going on. The game that will be the sequel (and actually the completion of the game) will be much longer and detailed, so I hope you can look forward to it. Sorry about the text problem, after the third day I kind of just didn't care about making this game that great, I'm sure you can tell. The only reason I made this game was for a game jam xD And I was hoping it might help get the actual game I had planned for this idea some popularity.
