SYNOPSIS:
Cut off from the outside world, murders are being committed one after another inside a mansion deep in the woods. Can Detective Sogo Inaba apprehend the culprit and find a way out before there's no one left to save?

This game is the first chapter of the The Mystery Files of Detective Inaba trilogy. The Mystery Files of Detective Inaba No. 1 Version 2.01e is a major update for the original game (The Mystery Files of Detective Inaba No. 1 Version 1.06e) which contains updated elements introduced in the later games, such as a map option with fast travel, the ability to run, and a case summarization to read with objectives. It also includes uniformed character portraits, more streamlined gameplay, and some new and tweaked dialogues.

This game is made by Suika Bar using Wolf RPG Editor and it was released on September 28th, 2015. The American fan translation group, Memories of Fear, translated this game and released it on July 31st, 2019.

The Mystery Files of Detective Inaba No. 1 has been updated to Version 2.01e!

Suika Bar has recently updated The Mystery Files of Detective Inaba No. 1 from Version 1.06e to Version 2.01e. Therefore we have also updated the English version to reflect the latest changes. You can .

This update, Version 2.01e, fixes some issues players had with the older release, which was Version 1.06e. Players are now able to skip the chase sequences, it is now possible to run, a map option is included with the ability to fast travel, and there is an option to read a summarization of the case as well as see the current objective.

Other changes that were added are: New redrawn character portraits; some adjustments made to the dialogue; tweaks to the puzzles and rooms; and a health bar in the final deduction amongst others. We hope that you enjoy the latest update for this murder mystery horror game.

pretty good game i probably spent more time on it than i should, but it was worth it. i wonder if there will be other mystery files for detective Inaba

Yup, there are actually two more Inaba games out in Japanese currently. While I can't give an estimate for the English versions, we do plan to translate the 2nd and 3rd game eventually!

Yay finished the game! i love the concept of a detective RPG Horror. this was fun to play! cant wait for the next parts to the series. The puzzles i feel are a bit hard to solve sometimes though, and most of the players cant solve it without using a guide. there oughta be more clues next time to help you figure the puzzles better or something ^^

I loved this game!! It was great! The puzzles were difficult (at least for me) but I could solve them after thinking about it for a while. And also I liked the fact you could explore a bit and you could also pretty much think and solve the case!!

I played to get the secret ending, but I got the ending 1. I checked the walkthrough to get it so I don't know if I did something wrong

Allow me to clarify:

The secret ending will still give you ending 1 in the end. But the major difference is that you will see a scene of Kaede (ghost girl) reuniting with her mother? If you have seen that, then you have seen the secret ending!

And congratulations on beating the game, I'm glad that you liked it!
