The world of Psema is a vast and dangerous one. When an entity known as "Mother" reveals to you that Psema's worshipped gods might not be what they seem, you set out on a journey to discover the "Truth", with no real idea of what that entrails, set on a path of betrayal, murder and all too real cruelty. Beware, ignorance is a bliss.

Highlights

  • A cyclopean, detailed world to explore.

  • 4 different classes to choose from with vastly different gameplays. Your class choice will also affect a multitude of npc interactions, access to various areas and the special, class girl routes in its visual novel departments.

  • Houses to buy, crafting techniques to master, relationships to build, enemies to make!

  • Music carefully selected based on a variety of factors to fit each situation and area of the game. Definitely keep your speakers on.

T
  • he world is not just Lovecraft-inspired. It is Mythos based.

  • Brutal battles, with dwindling resources!

  • Gameplay inspired from a combination of Witcher (1), Dark Souls, Eye: Divine Cybermancy, Planescape Torment, and World of Warcraft, with a tiny bit of Pokemon and Dating Sims thrown in.

  • Complex, deep character interactions. Debate, bribe, blackmail and flirt your way out of situations... All is possible, and someone always wants to stick a knife in you for the choices you have made!

  • A multitude of open-ended quests, with even more being added on every patch. Your decisions can have consequences even tens of hours after making them.

  • Dark, forboding atmsosphere...

  • ...And cute girls to romance!

Yeah the game gradually does slow down in game speed for me the longer its running.
I thought it was just my computer. Other than that... Hurray more lines crossed off!

In truth I have added even more staff, that's why it's taking so long. Remember how everyone complained about the items being a mess in your inventory? It's been fixed and it's super slick now!~

I would add images but the internet here is so awful that I downloaded a 10 GB patch for We Happy Few in 3 f@cking days, so...
1) The stack text isn't really a problem anyway and a simple save, close and reopen solves it. Hardly game-breaking.
2) I only downloaded the latest version, so didn't transfer an old savefile as far as I know...
3) Could easily be my own computer, using an old, slow laptop atm.

Have remembered another bug I encountered. Technically breaks the game but self-fixable. When I tried to control the beserker zombie on the beach level (I think floor 9? maybe 10), using the voodoo mask, the game crashed due to an image file being missing. I crudely fixed it by copying, pasting and renaming another image file. Unfortunately, I could not tell you which file is missing beyond the fact I think it's in the characters folder, since that's the only one I've modified.

With regard to invisible encounters, I actually noticed it pretty heavily on the first level, in the dungeon where you encounter the first boss. Could barely go a few steps without an encounter. And on this floor, the distinction between visible and invisible was almost meaningless, since I had something like a 10% escape rate (maybe class-dependent; I was a mage so perhaps low agility). Most of the other floors were significantly better (except 6, as you mentioned), though I would still have liked some putchasable item that lowers the invisible encounter number, even at the cost of other stats, since I'd have wanted to do some more exploring without overleveling/constant encounters.

Also, minor point, but the text for the assassin girl on the first floor if you have the wrong class seems to suggest that it's possible to free her in a different way. Kept revisiting it with different characters/items until I read here that it's not possible. Maybe it could be a bit more explicit?
One thing that surprised me on the Assassin class.
My char's hp was like half everyone else or below at the same level haha.
Talking base hp without equips, had to pray for no stray single or double enemy counter attacks and chug those prep potions.
The good news: The only things left to make for the new update are the hot springs inn (not even sure if I will include it after all) and to finish the Arena Observatory (I have already completed the quest chains leading to your entry to it).

The bad news: The Arena Observatory is its own series of interwining quests, new characters etc. Right now I am making extensions to the pub/inn of Bergheim to fit some of the locations for the new quests, which include multiple endings and morally grey choices.

(PS: One of the quests-stories that affects the Arena Observatory has an awesome storyline, where you have to decide what's the truth or not... And I still haven't decided what's the truth either :P )
Excited for the new update!

One thing I forgot to mention before: some of the items that provide permanent skill boosts (I forget the names) can be purchased without limit from some stores...seems like that could be a balance issue, potentially?

Yeah, I remove them wherever I find them. In the next update, there should be none left (PS: I am not selling them intentionally. In their item slots, there used to be other items, like potions, etc)
By the way Lord Rutsah, will there be any reworks on bows or crossbows?

Despite how I've had some classes able to wield them...
The dual swords on Hana, Weapon+Shield Swordsman or Dagger/Sword on Assassin
Appears to be significantly better sadly unless I miss something special about it.

Also to be frank, I have not found a use for the skill stat damage skills.
ie. Quick Strike.
While usually the party has higher speed than everyone for normal strikes.
Besides those freaky fast merfolk and rogue zombies.
So what can we expect from the new update I see you mentioned new characters, will this have any effect on the story?

Hana has special moves when she has bows equipped, which deal significant amounts of damage, though it is true that in the later levels I have not added enough bow/crossbows to make them as viable an option, I will have to fix that.

Hana's class will have a lot of changes. With the new update she is a mixture of assassin and magus, able to wear light gear as well as magia clothes. I have also thought of removing bows entirely from the game, like I did with katanas (in the new update, all katana weapons have either been converted to swords or claymores), and instead give the bow positions to hammers and claws, but I haven't made up my mind yet (I will allow sword artists to also wield hammers if that happens).

Also important announcement: The update will be released on the 27th, aka the day I return home, where I will have proper internet access.

Is the update still releasing today?

Tomorrow new version. Around noon.
Will the update still be releasing today?
Anyone know if the developer is OK, he hasn't posted on anything in a while I'm worried that something happened. Anyone know what happened?
New version released! And it only took 3 months!~
