The world of Psema is a vast and dangerous one. When an entity known as "Mother" reveals to you that Psema's worshipped gods might not be what they seem, you set out on a journey to discover the "Truth", with no real idea of what that entrails, set on a path of betrayal, murder and all too real cruelty. Beware, ignorance is a bliss.

Highlights
-A really, really big world to explore.

-4 different classes to choose from with vastly different gameplays. Your class choice will also affect a multitude of npc interactions, access to various areas and the special, class routes in its visual novel departments.
-A highly detailed world, with tons of collectibles.
-Music carefully selected based on a variety of factors to fit each situation and area of the game. Definitely keep your speakers on.
-The world is not just Lovecraft-inspired. It IS Mythos based.

-Hard, demanding battles. The game is by no means a breeze, but it won't cheat you out of a victory either.
-Gameplay inspired from a combination of Witcher (1), Dark Souls, Eye: Divine Cybermancy, Planescape Torment, and World of Warcraft, with a tiny bit of Pokemon and Dating Sims thrown in.

-Complex, deep character interactions. Debate, bribe, blackmail and flirt your way out of situations... Or just start cutting throats, though there are consequences to everything.

-A multitude of open-ended quests, with even more being added on every patch. Your decisions can have consequences even tens of hours after making them.
-The hardest of bosses are intelligent creatures. You might try offering them a better deal instead of fighting...?

Yes, I've tried it a few times now and the error still seems to be persisting. It seems to be hitting on a text box where the slave seller tells the player character something along the lines of being too young for the business. It cuts out a few words in though, and then the error box shows up!

Ok, will see to it, thanks.
This is going to sound really stupid... but how/where do you get companions? I beat Illfang, made it to level 2, but I haven't figured out how to add anyone to my party. Does that just happen later, or am I missing something very basic?

You're ok. First companion automatically joins you at the start of flour 3. the rest join soon after.

Thanks! Might as well ask my next question. *Spoiler* On floor 6, can't seem to progress the story. Also seem to have an error where a woman who is not on my team makes comments on this level (as if she joined at some point... but didn't). As an example - I beat the *spoiler, again* bride, and she identified a body nearby. But after beating the bride, I can't figure out where to go (beat the wererat too) - and the sheriff doesn't seem to acknowledge I've done anything either.

Well, once i defeated the two bosses (Undead Bride/Wererat) the 7th floor became available from the same portal that i entered the 6th. As far as the Succubus
side-quest goes, i've already reported a bug that denies progress. i don't think the Sheriff is needed for floor progress anyway. It feels like he will be needed for the side-quest depending on how you deal with it.

Sorry for the delayed release of the patch, I'm finishing a mini-book I'm writing today for Amazon Kindle, and afterwards it's full attention back to Broken Reality again. The sheriff is part of the succubus side-quest, if you go for her full route instead of one of the two quicker endings.

The wererat was the floor boss that needed to be beaten, but I agree that I need to put more indications showing that she is the major threat. I will remove Hachi's dialogue (it should have used a conditional branch to see if she's in the party, but I forgot about it apparently). She joins the party in Floor 7.

Not gonna give a specific date for the release of the next patch, but I did use the script you provided and indeed it solved the random crashes. Thanks! (hoping to have it ready by the end of the week, I have done most of the work, I just got caught up with writing)

No rush, really. I'm really intrigued by the game thus far so i do not mind waiting more since i know it will be that much better (hopefully everyone else shares these feelings). Also, Hoorah to Books (((o(*゚▽゚*)o))). You should link the Kindle page here once it is uploaded.
I have a couple errors to report:

1) When I attempt to buy "Rat's Pride" from Carousel I get the error:
Script 'Item Popup' line 109: ZeroDivisionError occurred
divided by 0

2) When I tell Leona I'm ready to start the coup I get the error:
Unable to find file:
Graphics/Characters/Boy

3)In Oracle Village, when I talk to the head demon, he acts like we've met before and he gave me a quest (that he thinks I completed). Then an error pops up: Same error as item 1, above (the line 109 error).

Also - wanted to add I really love this game too. I will happily pay for an expanded version with DLC when it's ready, it certainly seems worth it.

I'll look into them. Leona's questline is the one that needs a soft reboot, just like I did with the King's (and partially the queen's). Saying "Hey, lets start a rebellion" seems to be way too direct. I want to add some more stuff to it, especially since Floor 14's plot is also a rebellion (kinda), and it goes on a full quest chain before the big climax.
So, I started your game(played till beginning of floor 6) and I think the battle system has too much of a focus on counter attacks.

While playing as an Assasin through all those floors I did most of my damage against bosses through counter attacks and they did most of their damage to me with counter attacks.
This makes me use my turns using items rather than attacking, especially multi-hit attacks are a no go(if you get unlucky you die) and magic the go for using skills(of which only one of my characters can actually use atm)

I don´t know if that´s intentional or there´s some bug involved.

Another thing, gold was a no issue for me after reaching floor 3, you should consider reducing the drop rate of some items(weapons from humanoid enemies)
I could buy anything I wanted without grinding when I reached floor 5, you get some great stuff there.

That said, the game is still a lot of fun.
I love choosing your class and that the world reacts too your chosen class is great!
Thanks for making this game :)

Ty for the praise. I found the counterattack thing annoying myself, and though I have an idea of where it came from, it makes no sense to me either (supposedly for every 100 points of atk, you get 1% counterattack chance, but somehow the system fucked up). In the latest update, I made it so that all negative status effects (poison, bleeding etc) reduce counterattack chance by 10% each, so that boss fights can have a bit more depth.

The system comes from a script I've used, in order to make some other stats more relevant. For example in the original version of the game, luck only affected your chance of getting status effects. Thanks to this same script, it also provides a small dodge chance and increases your critical and criticla evasion stats.

The reason enemies in floor 3 drop too many weapons is because after beating their bosses they disappear, so the player has to rely solely on relatively rare random encounters.

Well, with every patch I balance the game a bit more, so I'll do my best to improve them.

I just fixed the problem. Apparently the script I was using can't register well triple decimal digits, so I changed the formulas. Now 10 attack give 1% counterattack chance, aka at the average of 150something that most characters would have towards mid to end-game, they will have 15% counterattack chance, + whatever their gear gives them. On that note, I gave the bosses extra counterattack chances specifically for them, to make the player use status effects and a bit more strategic thinking (average boss has about 40% counterattack chance now).

(Edit: Multi-limped bosses, or otherwise tentacly monsters have a much increased counterattack chance, it goes thematically.)
I have a problem. Every time I walk to the slave seller during the dialogue the game crashes I've tried reinstalling the game 3 times still didn't work. The error message is Script 'Khas Awesome Light Effects' Line936: NoMethodError occurred.
undefined method `bitmap`for nil:NilClass also I can't equip any weapons or armor I'm level two if that is the reason let me know.

Ok, I just found the problem, though I'm not sure why it appeared in the first place. The slave trader will be fine now. As for equipping gear, each class can use different types of gear. When you go to shops, you will see the letters either grey or or bright white, with + numbers under them showing what kind of stats they will give you. That will show you which gear you can use.

Basically it's heavy armor for berserkers, light armor for assassins, general armor for sword artists and magia clothes for blood magi.
Should I reinstall the game I already know how to transfer saves. also my class is magia so what gear and weapons can I use?

I haven't released the patch yet. Once I do, I will let people know.
I'm waiting for the patch as well ^-^ The game crashed when the slave trader spoke as well- "Script 'Khas Awesome Light Effects' Line936: NoMethodError occurred. Undefined method 'bitmap' for nil:NilClass"
