This game is made using 0.77.2 of Lecode’s Tactical Battle plugins. The plugins are currently in beta and there are some bugs. If you find any, please report them. Known issues are slowdown during certain enemy attacks and a navigational ‘y’ error when using the mouse to place characters. To avoid this, please refrain from using the mouse during battle. The Home Page button on the title screen may not work for some people, for some reason it doesn't like the rmn link to this page.

If you select Auto-battle in the options, you can turn it off by pressing Tab.

Made for, well finished for, the RPG Maker 28th Birthday Event. Also made for Kloe’s birthday, but its a month...plus...late. Happy birthday you two! (It’s not as long as I wanted due to learning new systems and multiple bouts of illness. Blergh.)

Description: The Kloe Version is the demo version of the Metal Frontier Projekt and stars Kloe as the main character. Many things are placeholder or not as refined as a final product.

Metal Frontier is a tactical rpg with a focus on open world and character customization as well as obtaining party members. A special type of party member, vehicles, play a big part of combat and are not used to get from point A to point B faster. Characters can equip vehicles items, usually a key, before entering a battle to use them, utilizing the vehicles equipped weapons, skills, etc instead of their personal equipment. In addition vehicles gain a percentage of the stats of the driver and certain skills. Not all characters can drive vehicles in combat and some characters have skills that make them innately better at it. Also vehicles cannot be used in every combat zone. Driving a 60 ton tank up a decaying metal stairwell is not conducive to a prosperous career.

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity clings to what little it has left. Out in the Wastes there are many dangerous things, horrific science experiments, rogue killer AI, humans who see others as a free meal, and wildlife that has a bone to pick. This dangerous land has given rise to organizations dedicated to preserving the peace and getting paid for it.

Hunting special bandits, monsters, and other ne'er-do-wells is also a focus of the game. These bad guys are called Criminals and have a tidy bounty placed upon them at the local Hunter Corp. Branch Office. The Office also accepts bounty parts acquired off normal enemies as well and will give the player a small reward. You can usually find a Hunter Office at any sizeable settlement for your convenience.

Enemies are visible on the screen. If you are crafty you can run past them or wait for them to move away from where you want to go.

In the Kloe version there are three party members and two vehicles to find. You also get reputation points for taking out criminals. Can you find all the characters and get a high score?

Characters-
Kloe- Our protagonist. She is very pink. Wants to become a Hunter and do something big, something good, something that people will remember her for. Also because Hunter’s get cool tanks and can roll around the village in style.

The Mechanic- Repairing machines is his game. He’d be happy if he had his own manufactorium and an endless supply of metal. Alas, he isn’t richer than the four kings of Talajala and is going to a trashy land to learn a trade.

The Lonely Swordsman- There are many groups who dispense justice in the Wastes. Some wear a badge, others a hat, but some carry it on their shoulders. With so many guns available, it’d be suicide to rely only on melee weapons, but cybernetics and determination can change that.

The Strange White Woman- A strange woman who wanders from town to town. She wears strange clothing and makes odd clicking and scratching noises. It seems she is fond of dogs.

Vehicles-

The Rust Bucket.

The Djipni.

Credits-

There is way too many to list here, or remember, but I shall list some. Yanfly, Hime, Waynee95, Lecode, Kevin MacLeod Avery, Amy, Kloe, RMN peeps, Kazzador, Soundbible.com, GrandmaDeb, and many others.

Next Update

Heya guys, so far I have only a couple fixable bugs reported. And one I remembered after the upload, heh. They'll be fixed in the next update, along with more content, goal is to get one of Legrange's districts or another dungeon done. Release date is slated for sometime in late April unless there is a gamebreaking bug that needs fixing, etc.

Thank you all for taking the time to play my game.

Bugs noted and fixed-
Bandits Lack Scalps, someone has already scalped all the bandits!
Certain Status Effects don't persist after battle.
A girl was found to dispense food without a license, she has been arrested.
Slight graphical issue, grammar error, and slight passability issue- Thanks Ozzy.

Bugs noted that cannot be fixed yet-
Doodads, non-linear placed graphics, do not show up in battle maps. No eta on when this functionality will be added to the battle plugin.

Working on/Finished:
Above bugs checked.
Added an intro event to the sewers to give the player a hint at what to do. Particularly in sewer battles.
Added manual in Kloe's room that lets you rename vehicles, turn on/off vehicle driver naming, and updates changed items/variables/switches for safe file compatibility.
Save file compatibility between patches.

Aww that's so sweet, thank you Deldel!!
Gotta admit it looks awesome but oh god the bugs in combat system. Retarded ai that will move away from you as long as one enemy is blocking the way in aka bridge no matter how far away that enemy us. Trying the auto mode lost me 2 hours of game. You will never guess: in auto mode character does only one action per turn with random weapon on random enemy so few wounded rats wiped me out. It would not be so bad if there was a way to turn off auto during combat!!! Battles take way too long time though they look great. Decent graphics and very cool texts have been noted. If you fix those bugs I am sure the game will be very enjoyable.
@zenia Thanks for the feedback man. Yeah, I think the ai movement is currently bound to some pathfinding mv default thing, not sure though. Can't really fix it though, have to wait for Lecode to do an ai pathfinding rebuild.

I hadn't really used auto during testing except once to see if it broke things, huh. Yeah, I might disable it in an update because that's not good. I think there is a way to turn off auto combat, but not sure. It might be cancel and then wait for next battle turn. --If you press Tab it turns on/off autobattle.

If you lose a battle it shouldn't give you a game over. If you wait long enough something happens.
Where do you get the faces for Kloe and the others from?

Where do you get the faces for Kloe and the others from?

I got Kloe's sprites and face sheet from Kloe herself. Some others are VXA or MV RTP, others come from Avery, Amy, Pandamaru, and a few others I think. Oh and a couple are from steam dlc.

You'd think MZ would use a dictionary for switches/variables by now?
