Alouette, a small Bird, must leave his shell and venture into a strange world to retrieve the song stolen from his precious music box. He'll meet questionable allies like the mischievous Milo, the energetic Espoir, and the herculean housewife Autruche. He'll have to face reality bending foes like the ROSE WITCH and the darkness growing in his own young heart.

This started out as a simple RPG MAKER horror game and evolved into something more personal. There are themes of depression, loneliness, hopelessness, and Jungian psychology as well as random trivia from ballet to baseball. It is mostly a playable story with easy puzzle elements and creative "battles". There's a Phoenix Write-esk trial at one point. It will not be a phenomenal achievement of game innovation or anything, but it will be the greatest work I've ever put together myself.

As of now this is a rather lengthy FREE DEMO, I intend to make it a commercial game when I finish it.

I am still working on my game ►Gentille Alouette◄. Little by little, it's transforming into a decent game. I don't have a lot of time or energy to do so, personal things, general depression, and work hours.
I had lost my login info and just completely forgot about this site!

It looks very cool! Subscribed :3

author=There will be some horror elements reminiscent of jhorror rpg maker games such as OFF and .FLOW.

Just to clarify, OFF was actually made by a Belgian team.

It's kinda alright for a demo.
Although I must say that the story seems to be told a little too fast to the spectator to catch up. Who are all these characters? Why should I bother knowing them? Most characters appear and leave so fast that I can't quite get what they're up to.
I dig the atmosphere, despite the fact that I didn't get the story too well for actually care about why the world is the way it is. Not much is explained besides some texts in the introduction and some dialogs here and there.
What surprised me was that little trial minigame. I liked that part and have never seen that in other games around here.

Oh, and please, don't give the player the illusion of choice unnecessarily. Instead of

>Go out?
No...
No...

Try explaining with text, like:

"Alouette doesn't want to go out, but he knows he must do it if he wants to fix the music box."

Overall, I can't say I like it that much, but with enough polish, it could turn out very good.

I understand, thank you very much. I've seen the illusion of choice done in other games and really liked it, like the character your playing as feels so strongly that they 'break' the game, I may leave that in but then again I'm not sure. By the characters do you mean the Jacques sisters or the people at the trial? I'll admit the Jacques seem really out of place, they were supposed to be scattered throughout the game like team rocket but their scenes just didn't... seem good, so I cut a lot of them out, overtime each character gets alittle more personality built onto them. Thank you SO much for playing and taking time to comment!
