A cute little game that didn't pass unnoticed

Hello! Welcome back!
After so many big and epic adventures, I like playing short little games such as Sideways or The Vindicators. This game, like the Vindicators is another Swap in the Middle with Two rpgmaker game, but it shares also other similarities, like two funny main characters and the use of charsets, facesets and other resources with the same style as they come from the same source. One I like a lot, but let's begin:

"The Kidnapping..." etc etc (wonderful title, but from now I'll say just "the kidnapping"... or, even better, nothing at all!) is a sort of adventure game with few puzzles. It's a rather short but nice lighthearted game set in a stereotypical fairy tale world.

Yes, I said adventure since we will control a princess (and one that is frequently kidnapped), not the typical badass hero! For this reason the gameplay consist in exploring different locations, find useful items and solve simple puzzles. A thing that impressed me is that it's really well done and harmonious: usually in swap or chain games I can feel the chance of author. There I can imagine the spot where it happened, but using logic, because the whole game is coherent and doesn't have sudden changes of theme or style. Nice, this was not easy!

For what concerns the combat system... ok, no I'm joking!

Speaking about graphics, this is a stylish game! I liked the pink and blue hue that changes depending on the character you are using, for the rest the chipsets, charsets and facesets all came from a set of resources I liked a lot since they are quite cute and nicely fit with the fairy tale parody atmosphere of this game.
Mapping is good, even if nothing out of the ordinary: we have the usual dungeons, cells and manors, by the way the execution is professional and stylish. I did not find any kind if bug or issue.

Dialogues are well written, I just found a spelling error ("emtpy") and nothing else, this is also what makes the game entertaining besides the funny situations you will encounter. This makes the game memorable and in the end my only wish was that it was longer as there were some ideas for a sequel durin the ending...

But yes, that's ok as we have a short adventure game that's still fun to play and shows that Rmk200X can still be used not only for classical Jrpg, but also to design interesting puzzles (even if the idea of puzzle that requires character swapping was already used in other games I reviewed earlier, like the Cerebral Symphony and Chain of Retribution) and tell funny stories.

The Verdict
I played this game and I had fun. My only problem is that I wanted more, but hey, I know that this kind of games can become boring if they are too long. I don't think there's replayability anyway this game will let you have fun for a while. And despite the small purpouse and size of the game I see that it was clearly done with attention to the details, to the dialogues, and that's something that has to be rewarded, also being a "swap in the middle" game. So yes, it's good for you and worth your time!
