Version 1.2.1 is up!

  • It has been reported the game was plagued with an absurd amount of lag due to the design of an event system. Arguably, it was more evident on newer Windows versions. This new patch aims to correct the issue by completely re-eventing said system. I'm sorry for those who tried the game and experienced this problem. Should the issue persist, please, feel free to let me know!

Special thanks to pianotm for bringing this to my attention!

  • A game breaking bug related to one of the enemies in a dungeon not respawning if the player was defeated has also been fixed.

Thanks a lot to Cap_H for reporting it!

Playing the updated version on an older laptop (1gb ram) right now and it starts lagging every time I lose health or stamina.

I'm really sorry for that. Neither the old nor the new version lagged on my laptop (it's like 6 years old or more, although beffier than 1gb ram). Just yesterday I found out about the oldest version having issues on Windows 10. Which was funny because both laptops are identical, literally, just different OS. Last time I tested after redoning everything and updating it was working just fine, so I'm again clueless, as I'm guessing you can run other (official) Rm2k3 games without problems, right?

I tried your other game on that laptop and it lags too. I think it just might have difficulties to run parallel processes or pictures in general. Or maybe it's the compiler you use, which messes it up. It runs vx games smoothly otherwise.
But I read piano's review and my issue is identical. The lag goes up, when your health goes down.
But I think I learned the game enough to avoid most of it.
I encountered another bug, tho. The boss in the dungeon with butchers defeated me the first time i encountered it and now I can't interact with it or encounter it (I got the mirror meanwhile as well). The event is possibly broken.

And one gameplay question. When do I lose sands? Is it a particular number of uses or is there another condition as well?

From what I could gather, the official versions of both programs lag way more than the unofficial ones. I remember my previous laptop ran RPG Maker VX/Ace and XP all without issues but lagged the hell out on Rm2k/Rm2k3 Steam versions. On my testings, performance was the same with and without the compiler. T_T

From what I know from those who played "Heroic Tale", they didn't seem to have problems either with the game, I believe, so again, I have no clue.

I'm sorry I can't be of any help.

Now, the other bug you mention that's completely my fault!! I'm fixing and uploading right now.

All enemies "sands" have 5 uses, besides those from two particular enemies, which are unlimited (one of them being the boss from the bug, actually).

I'm truly sorry for not identifying that bug earlier.

EDIT: Update 1.2.1 is up. Thanks a lot Cap_H!!

No worries, I'll just move my save to the new version.

Five uses, then. No wonder I'm out of Butchers all the time.

As there's no grinding per se, resource/demon managing took priority and 5 seemed not too low or too high considering the drop rates. It is also not stated, but the same sand used to summon a demon can be used to heal that particular demon, hence the stric limit. You will notice, regardless, that it gets noticeable more manageable after getting certain demons. That If I don't completely ruin the experience with more bugs. T__T Thanks, really, for your patience.
