I should also point out that the reason I starred all of the exit shadows is because I realized that having the character walk over them looks really freaking weird. The way they're dithered and what they're supposed to represent (leaving one map and entering another), it just really looked incredibly strange to have the PC just walking over pitch black like nobody's business. I mean, when you enter a shadow, you enter a shadow. You don't keep being fully lit. They way they're dithered makes the character look like she's completely disappearing into shadow. On the next map, she emerges on the other side.
