“The Valley of Ashe has seen an increase in the number of monsters lately. Valen, a ranger from the town of Ashe, hunts and gathers for the town’s survival. Although he is known as “The Lone Wolf”, his fiery sister Sylvyth insists on helping him gather food for the coming winter. The Village of Ashe may be on the brink of starvation, but Valen swears to the Faeries to only take what they need to survive. Both he and the Faeries understand that the balance must be kept…

After finding out that the invading horde is led by a certain Lord Tyrak and the recent monster attacks are an effort to starve out the town of Ashe, Valen and Sylvyth volunteer to leave the valley and seek out allies as well as gather any other information they can find about Lord Tyrak and why he wishes to invade the Valley of Ashe.

Upon their return, Valen and Sylvyth find the King of Ashe has passed away, and a new king has been installed. The new king does not believe in the balance Valen seeks and tensions mount. After tragedy strikes, how will Valen set the wrong deeds right? Will he learn to lead, instead of always being “The Lone Wolf”? Will Lord Tyrak triumph over the people of the Valley?

We invite you to take this journey and help Valen become the hero he is destined to be. With 6-8 hours of DEMO gameplay, multiple characters and realms to visit, we watch our Lone Wolf become a hero, leader, and lord of his own kingdom to help take back the Valley of Ashe and restore balance to the kingdom. Progressive re-building of your own kingdom, rich environments and storyline, with concept/conflicts that are not just a recycled story you are used to! Each class has unique skills and abilities to differentiate combat style and tactics. True Active-Time Battle with the ability to combine skills, similar to classic favorite - Chrono Trigger. Difficulty increases as your skills become more diverse, first allowing you more options to defeat enemies, then requiring you to be creative in how you handle your skills in order to succeed!”

Game is currently in Beta, looking for additional feedback so I can keep polishing it.

it is crashing.

Any details? Maybe I can help?

OS?
System Specs?
Error Messages?

I only have 1 other report of crashing, due to system specs with over 125 downloads.
Thanks, that sounds promising, even when considering that I'm usually very picky about game mechanics. I will likely give your game a try when it has been completed.

Honestly, this is the first time I've seen ATB implemented in an RPG Maker MV game. Does your game's ATB feature a wait function, and if so, which kind of (automatic, press key/button or only while browsing sub-menus)? I'm afraid "true ATB" means no wait function at all, but then I had to pass on playing this game, since I only play true turn-based JRPGs.

Also, how exactly is the "rebuilding of your own kingdom" supposed to work? There are so many ways to go about that, ranging from simple story progression (kingdom is rebuilt automatically as the plot advances) or provision of money (buying buildings) to full-fledged strategy elements (with emphasis on freedom of choice).

So, it does have True ATB, so no waiting during submenus, etc. I am working on an implementation of a full Wait to go with it, so each menu it hits it pauses. That works right now, but if you cycle characters by pressing the cancel button, nobody's turn bumps forward at all, which is where I would like it to be. I also want to work out a semi-active, where bars will progress until you hit a submenu. Implementation has been a little harder than expected :)

The rebuilding of your kingdom happens a little later in the game. The first part of the demo is really introductory where the plot line lays itself out. After that, there are a few different sets of resources you will need to rebuild - workers to rebuild, funding, army to defend it, etc. As you complete sections, the castle is in a different state of rebuilding, so it progressively builds as you gain more resources and complete the questlines. There may be some scenes that have some tower defense style defenses that you can choose rewards and customize a bit later on. I've got the tower defense section working, but the quest lines and maps are not written that far yet, for this demo.

So 1st section is fairly linear, until the entire plot opens up, then it's a little more open and branching.
