As it turns out, in This Is Not My Final Form, weapons and party members are one and the same. Early on, you learn the skill "Instill Life", which lets you transform a weapon into a loyal minion that will fight at your side.



As they accumulate experience in battle, these minions will level up and learn new skills.



You can revert them to their original weapon form at any time, and they will retain the levels and skills they earned, meaning the weapon will not only be more powerful, but also allow the protagonist to use whichever new skills it has acquired when they equip it.

Weapon-related skills consume WP (Weapon Points) instead of regular Skill Points. They are what is most commonly known as TP in RPG Maker MV games, i.e., points which slowly build up over the course of the battle.
