Hey, look! It's those guys to the left of the gamepage! Boy, are they screwed!

While you climb your way out of Hell, evil is also afoot in the world of the living. A cabal of dark magicians known as the Order of the Sunken Star is on the verge of completing a horrifying ritual they have been preparing for centuries. In opossition to them stands the Hoshigami clan, a family of exorcists and demon hunters dedicated to fight supernatural threats. The mystic mirror Yata no Kagami has shown them a glimpse of a terrible future, an approaching calamity that could destroy the world as we know it; and they have reason to believe it is somehow connected to the Sunken Star's plans.

Three young exorcists will find themselves embroiled in this conflict between light and darkness...

Mamoru is the heir to the Hoshigami clan, and the chosen wielder of the holy sword, the Kusanagi no Tsurugi, which according to the mirror's prophecy is the only weapon capable of vanquishing the encroaching evil. His tireless optimism and peerless bravery make him a beacon of light in these dark times.

Direct descendant of Abe no Seimei, Hideto is a genius exorcist, and a master of the Seimei school of onmyoudou. In combat he wields the legendary enchanted spear "Ogre Slayer". He initially refuses to acknowledge Mamoru as the prophesied hero, but eventually comes to respect him as a worthy leader.

Mamoru's childhood friend and fellow exorcist. Kotori's family have been retainers of the Hoshigami clan for generations. She has strong feelings towards Mamoru, but she can't bring herself to tell him...

Given that our main character knows a healing spell (seen when you showed us the instill life) and that there are only three heroes (none which look like your standart healer)... I have the feeling that dear agdistis was the fourth party member... given that they suffered a great... injustice I have the feeling that Mamoru or the others or just the Hoshigami clan or all of them have a few skeletons in their closet. Skeletons that crawl their way out of hell.

Why do I come to this conclusion?
Mamoru looks like the typical hero, sword in hand, optimism etc but there must always be a reason why they are like that... in most cases it's a dead friend or parents and the like.... given that his clan is alive most likely it makes me think what gave him the motivation is the death of "adgistis" or however they were known before.
Naturally there is also the chance Mamoru is just playing he has a bit of an arrogant look and that he is just doing that for another goal of his which is unknown... to many unknown variables.

Anyways looks yet again quite nice.

Also is ogre slayer sealed? Looks like it.... maybe he unseals it in the fight when he gets serious? Well who knows just a randomn thought.
I saw this update on Tumblr first and I lost it laughing when you pointed out where the heroes could be seen on the title screen. XD I like how in Mamoru's design that he's basically dressed as an average modern high-schooler for the most part with the jeans, sneakers, and letterman jacket...but then on his right arm he's got the medieval-esque metal armor over his sleeve. Cool beans♡

I like this theory and I'm curious if that's going to be the case in the final game. (I won't be disappointed or anything like that if it's not, it's just fun to think about.)
Those are some interesting theories! However, I wouldn't speculate much on the particular relevance of that healing spell, since the protagonist's skills vary depending on which forms they have equipped. None of the starting forms include that specific spell, its acquired later in the game.

As for the ogre slayer spear, unsealing it to release its true power is a cool idea, I'll probably include something of the sort.

Hm makes most of my vaildation for my theory go up in a cloud of hot air as the spell isn't available always but I guess that's to be expected when you make assumptions on a game like this :D Especially without any story knowledge =P

For the record I still believe that Agdistis is at least somehow acquaintanced or related to Mamoru. It is the perfect excuse for Mamoru to go crazy.... seeing his friend turned demon climb out of hell? I mean come on that would be cool. Especially if he believes or is responsible for it... Naturally he could always be a cocky a**hole and taunt our Protagonist as useless and all that making us go all out even more, but I will not think about that anymore without more proof than some look that he could be up to no good. (He could totally have done it to take over the world... I would. Er scretch that I am way to lazzy to do such a thing.)

Yeah well about the ogre spear.... I was already thinking about how the hero's could make my life difficult for me and the looks of the spear kinda made me assume you intended to make it look like it's sealed.

If you are interested about the theories about special abilities I had for the characters are as follows:
Mamoru:
Typical sword fighter with a second wind ability. He recovers fully once struck down the first time and the second time (I mean after his second wind) he starts throwing around his real power. Sword Dance my ass to oblivion and all that. Counter physical attacks, regeneration or power boost once an ally is struck down, etc.
Hideto:
Unleashes a powerful attack with his spear or unleashes him for a completly new skillset to which you better not bring any Ogre forms. Also gets the ability to weaken incoming magic once his spear is unsealed.
Kotori:
Goes all summoner once she hits a certain amount of HP and can resummon/resurrect her summons. (The pentagrams on her papers made me think that)Or simply bring different summons (could be done easily) she uses at a certain amount of HP or TP gathered. Those summons are enemies you fight in hell and the like.
I also tagged her for the healer at first before I had my idea. (What party does not have a healer? My second idea was Momuro would heal, but that seems unlikely from his looks.)

And on top of all of that shittons of potions. Hero's gotta have potions. Potions for hero's is life. A fight against unpotioned hero's is just wrong. Potions to increase strength, magic, speed, etc for healing and for recovering MP.... all the good stuff.

I wanna be frustrated by all the potions the enemies throw around. That's how a boss should feel against hero's.... that's probably just me though and wouldn't go over well.
