-- A Preamble --

Embers flitter across the sky like glowbugs locked in the throes of courtship. A smokey wooden scent fills the air, and the crackle of fire is all that pierces the calm silence of night. Under a brilliant autumn moon, long believed to be auspicious, the village of Leyan burns before the eyes of its conqueror. There is a peace among this death, she muses, and the thought grips black terror to her soul.

-- Story --

A Crossing in Rielle tells the story of Miyu, a destitute young woman who arrives in the Imperial Province of Rielle with little more than the clothes on her back and the fire in her heart. Survivor of an isolated people perished by the machinations of war, she struggles to survive in a foreign world as a base sellsword, trading on the skills passed down by her forbears. She seeks little more than a warm hearth and an ample plate: the ambitions of a lone vagabond long on the precipice of death. But in this far-flung corner of the Empire, she will find something much, much more valuable...

-- Characters --

Miyu

Young huntress from the village of Leyan, and one of the few survivors of its destruction. Terse and distant to all she meets, but a powerful resolve lies deep within.

Fane

Elemental manipulator with an interest in the nascent arts of dark magic. Blessed with a sharp wit and cursed by a sharper tongue.

Valrune

Once a renowned warrior, she now serves as Vicereine of Rielle at the pleasure of the High Queen. Agitated and constrained by her new post, she often steals away for weeks at a time on dangerous solo expeditions into the backcountry.

Ever so close, now...

Every screenshot is better with a treasure chest in it

Work continues on the final few areas of the game as I rapidly approach the full 1.0 release, likely (hopefully) coming sometime near the end of the month. All that remains, best as I can see it, is:

- Finish mapping a pair of end game dungeons (currently ~60-70% done) and finalize area enemies/treasures

- Add one more smaller dungeon to cap off a hunting questline

- Implement the final cutscene and ending

- One or two more passes for balancing and proofreading (still making small adjustments to gold and EXP values)

Hard to believe I'm mere weeks away from finishing my first game -- embarrassing teenage dalliances with XP notwithstanding. Very excited to see what you all think of it!

Your game seems interesting. Waiting for download!
The announced completion date has been passed without any news to let us know what's going on...
I'm getting tired of promising games never actually released...hope this won't be one of them :(

This one looked nearly done, with just some adjustements and proofreading to do...what's wrong ?
Well, uh, hello again.

I suppose it goes without saying that Things Came Up as they so often do and I had to put this on the backburner for quite some time, not willing to half-ass the work that remained to be done. Now that the waters have stilled a bit, I've finally got the time to give it the attention it deserves. I won't be putting a date on the thing until it's actually done this time, but I promise you it will see a release.
