This if the official demo for LYA, coming June 2019.

This demo contains the whole of the Prologue and just under 1/3 of Chapter 1.

You'll get a feel of what the finished game will be, a tension built horror (with the occasional jumpscare) mixed in with puzzles of varying difficulties.

The world, most of the main characters and the initial conflicts are introduced, as well as the basic game mechanics.

I have spent many hours fine tuning this portion of the game but if there is anything that sticks out to you or that impedes/distrupts your experience, please do not hesitate to make a note of it down below, it'll be much appreciated.

Bear in mind, this is still a work in progress, so certain pieces of dialogue, certain characters, events etc. may be changed, updated or removed once the final version is released.

Finally, I'd just like to say, I hope you enjoy your playthrough and I hope it compels you to anticipate LYA's release day.

Enjoy!

CONTROLS
Besides the arrow buttons to move about and ESC to access the Main Items menu, Music Room (A collection of unlocked tracks) and settings, there is only one other set of buttons to remember.

These are A and X, to access the In Game Items menu. Certain items in the game can only be interacted with by accessing this menu (For example, if you have water and there's an empty bowl, press A or X then confirm water, while standing in front of the bowl to fill it up. You may have to double click.)

+You're already dashing from the beginning of the demo. If you want to walk normally, go in the Settings and change Auto Dash to Walk.

I REUPLOADED THE DEMO (FIRST MAP YOU COULD WALK ON THE BLACK TILES. THAT WAS MY BAD. ALL FIXED NOW)
Version 1.02 (Added a short into. Some spelling corrections. Audio fixes. Slight light adjustement)

Alright, so this was interesting. Overall I enjoyed it. I definitely felt terror. (I mean in all honesty im not that hard to scare haha) The terror element was pretty good, weird noises and not being able to see anything is surely going to get me terrified which is one of the things that was done well here. I felt kinda lost playing in the beginning, i really didnt know much about anyone or anything rather i felt kinda thrown into it. So that was something that was a tiny bit off putting to me. Later in the demo when things go south for Lya, that had me intrigued. I was lost there to, but this time i was really interested in finding out what exactly the hell is going on. So that was pretty great. The last thing i'd mention is the lighting. I like the lights going out, it adds more to the game. However, i felt it was too dark. I couldnt see much. Even with the flashlight I felt like i couldnt see things. Im not saying get rid of the darkness, but lighten it up a tad bit higher so i can still see walls, doors, silhouettes, ect.. I like the darkness it adds to the terror element, but not pitch black. Overall im excited (and terrified) to play the full version of the game.
Firstly, I'd just like to thank you very much for taking the time out to play this demo, that is very much appreciated. I'm also very glad that you enjoyed this demo and that it has got you looking forward to the full version!

Secondly, I want to thank you for your words and suggestions. I will definitely take your suggestions into consideration. I'll look into working on the intro so maybe other new players don't feel so lost and the lightning (indeed, finding the right balance of darkness/light has been something I've been constantly wrestling with during development).

Thanks once again for your time and words!
