First Bug Found in Full Version of Hobbledehoy!

Hey guys!
We wanted to let folks know of a little bug that was found in the full version of Hobbledehoy. Now this is the only bug we were informed about, which isn't so bad. We are hoping that this is the only bug and that the rest of the game will be running smoothly from now on.

Thanks to our WONDERFUL YouTube friend, MikeyBlighe, there is a part in about the third chapter of the game where if you do some events in a certain order, the game won't continue on. We have fixed this bug, and updated the game file! Here is the changelog for v 1.1.0 Hobbledehoy:

  • Fixed the bug that is in Chapter 3

  • Added a 'READ ME' to the game folder

If you run into this bug yourself, download the new game file, and move your save files over and it should be fixed. If that doesn't help, make sure to contact us through the comments, or contact us at jen.sis.productions@gmail.com.

We are sorry for the inconvenience, but hey...it happens. We're just glad we were told about it. That's all we have for ya'll today, and this is Jen&Sis, riding off in our favorite rocket ship!

Wow! It has been AWHILE since the last update. We are so sorry for not updating a lot more, but life has been a Big Ignorant Time Consuming Heathen lately. BUT we didn't let that stop us from trying to get our little game jam prodigy out to the world! Now, we're not going to lie, the full version of Hobbledehoy was suppose to be released MONTHS ago, but we're kind of glad we took our time, because man, this game...we're really proud of it.

We are really putting our heart and soul into the full release and it will definitely show! But anyway, on to the update!

Here is how far along we are coming along with Hobbledehoy:

Sprites: 100%

Misc: 95%

Now, you guys are probably like...girls, this isn't much of a change, and yes, you're right. BUT with all the stuff we are putting in this game, those changes are actually pretty big. We are literally working on the LAST event, and after that's done the game will be up and running!

Lastly, we are excited to say that we have uploaded a new video to our YouTube channel. Click here to check it out! Please watch it if you have time (it does pertain to Hobbledehoy)! We would REALLY appreciate it!

Well, that's all we have for you today. Hobbledehoy is almost there, so hold on to your shoulders, chest, pants, and shoes, because this game will hit your emotions button ALOT!

We know it's been AWHILE since we said anything about Hobbledehoy, but it's for a good (well sort of) reason. Life was really been hitting us hard (illness, death in the family, and more), but we are back and at-em and we have some things to update ya'll about our little game jam prodigy.

Here is how far along we are coming along with Hobbledehoy;

Story: 100%
Sprites: 85%
Mapping: 75%
Misc: 25%

So as you can see, the full version of Hobbledehoy is coming along, but there is definitely some details that need to be snuffed out. Please pray for us that nothing crazy deters us from having to put this game on another hold, because man, there is so much we want to accomplish this year with future releases.

But we are really excited about the full release because we changed and added ALOT of things to this game (since we had such a short deadline with the game jam). We hope you stay patient with us for a little while longer, but trust and believe, it is worth the wait.

Well, it seems like no matter how much you troubleshoot a game, there is always something that comes up! Credit goes out to nivrad00 for finding the bug, but there is a bug in the drawers when you're looking for the extra paper. But no worries, because it's been fixed and the game has been re-uploaded.

To not lose your progress, do these steps to continue with the saves you already have:

1. Download the new "Hobbledehoy Demo"
2. Have both game folders side by side for easy transfer
3. On both game folders, open the "www" folder
4. Copy the "save" folder from your old game folder and paste it into the
"www" folder of the updated game folder
5. Open the game and continue to play!!!

We're sorry for the inconvenience, but like always, if we hear of a problem, we quickly get it fixed. We hope this helps, and we hope that you continue to enjoy "Hobbledehoy"!

………………………………………..???

Huh, what’s the problem? Why are you staring at us like that? Oh, is it because of our new look? Well, we had to look the part for a new game “Hobbledehoy”. Now I know this game came out of nowhere, but we really wanted to participate in this awesome game jam called, “I Can’t Draw But Want To Make A Game”.

This game jam was so much fun to participate in because we could really just have fun and not worry about things being perfect. It also let us revert back to acting like children, and to be honest, it was a BIG stress-reliever. When you’re an adult, and have to act a particular way all the time, it’s get a bit draining, but when we worked on “Hobbledehoy” we threw all our worries out the door and just had fun with it!

As you can see, we only managed to make a demo of “Hobbledehoy” because we had a very short window until the game jam deadline. So, from the time we started the game and submitted it to the game jam, we managed to work on the demo for like…3 weeks. Now we will say, it was really HARD to get everything to where it is now, and we do plan on making a full version of “Hobbledehoy”. We just wanted to test our limits, and this game jam was the perfect way to do it.

So we hope you enjoy “Hobbledehoy” and please let us know in the comments what we can do to make it better for the full release. Thank you for being awesome and this is Jen&Sis…signing off!
