What happens when angels fall from the skies?

Taking place in a land where dragons have fought before and may fight again, Angels, Magic and Dragons (AMAD) brings you into the world of peaceful town Mikizu. Just when the town is thriving peacefully, what new havoc does a blue-haired stranger seek to wreck? What magic does the blue jem have?

This is the demo version of AMAD. The game is currently in-development. Please give your support by trying out the game and telling us what you liked and disliked!

A smaller game file without rtp compressed together is available under downloads!

In Search of Immortality: Ellis sprites as Prince Raphael
Much thanks to In Search of Immortality for being an inspiration. Two weeks?! I tried but failed, and this much was after tossing it aside for a year or two and then coming back to sort it out. I'm glad that I managed to make it to a demo release, it has been a lot of work for a newbie developer like me. I hope these ISOI gods forgive this non-artist for using their character sprites Ellis. I love Ellis' sprites so so soo very much. <3 Thank you for your awesomeness.

Gave this a whirl maybe a couple days ago. I didn't think this would be so short, but, there it is in the description that the game doesn't go beyond the first quest!

I can't exactly say I am a fan of all the open space in this game, despite how fast I could get around. I'm inclined to point out how awkward it was to be able to walk over water. I suppose that could be explained through the possibility that Gabriel is flying first strike, vigilance, trample, haste, protection from black and from red. Still, it looks/feels awkward.

That aside, from what there is, it seems a cute enough game. I approve of the Sword Techs! The decision to make the "Spell" command not bring up it's own list of sub-commands was an interesting one. I don't recall any use for MP in this game, though, considering the game's current state, that's probably okay.

I'm happy you expected more. Well Quest 1 was broken up into parts, and I hope the story was mildly interesting for you.

I see, so the maps are a little too spaced out. I suppose I should make it slower to get around if I cut off some empty spaces and shrunk some maps. Which maps in particular or as an example?

Do you mean the fountains in Mikizu Town, Marrend? No, it's a tileset issue, was trying to make it have a metallic outline to look like a fountain but it was passable. I have a rough idea of how to change the tileset to unpassable to fix it in the next release! Also the original idea was for Gabriel to board a Gabriel sprite and fly around the world map instead of that blue flame light. Which was weirder xDDD

Do you mean the "Magic" command? I modified Spell to their individual weapons. For e.g. Uriel has Arrow. to give it a little "uniqueness" in character. Further down the line I'm thinking of equipments that change the character massively, like switching attack and magic attack stats so it'll make (some) sense to choose when to use magic and when to use attack.

Most of the skills have been created already, up to quite high levels, you could try leveling at the bonus area behind the Inn at Mikizu. Raphael and Uriel have MP attacks, but I might need to balance if their MP used is waaay lesser than the MP they have and to make it noticeable.

I'm really happy you posted ;-; and I hope you'll look forward to the next release! ^w^)

The specific example that I currently recall is the starting town. Dairgaaz, there is waaaaay too much empty space there. I would heartily recommend trimming down on the area's size. Concerning character speed, I actually wasn't bothered by it. If you are considering slowing it down, maybe also consider the use of an auto-dash mechanic, where the dash-speed is the current speed.

...this comment, yes. Sorry I wasn't more specific. I wasn't terribly bothered by the "airship" in this game, if you were wondering. However, it's good to know that you have a solution in mind for the fountains!
