Country of Snow

One day a bald loan shark came to a family of a single mother and an six-year-old
daughter to collect their debt.

The bald loan shark opened the door to their house. Did not even bother to knock.
There he found only the daughter and the mother was nowhere to be found in the house.
"Where is your mother?", asked the bald loan shark.
"She left this morning and has not come back yet.", the daughter replied.

The bald loan shark rubbed his head to denote his frustration.
"I suppose I'll wait here until she returns.", said the bald loan shark as he rested himself
on a nearby chair while the daughter was playing with her turtle doll.

A minute became half-hour, half-hour became a full-hour, a full-hour became hours,
and the mother had yet to be seen. The bald loan shark grew impatient.
"Well, I suppose I'll come back tomorrow.", the bald loan shark proclaimed as he stood up.
"Good-bye, mister.", the daughter bidded him farewell as he walked for the exit.

The next day, the bald loan shark came back to the same house, in hopes to collect their dues.
But yet again, the mother was nowhere to be seen on that day and the bald loan shark
decided to wait for her.

A minute became half-hour, half-hour became a full-hour, a full-hour became hours,
and the mother had yet to come home.
"Does she always come home this late?", the bald loan shark asked a question directed
to the daughter who was playing with her turtle doll.
"Yes.", answered the daughter, a tinge of sadness visibly washed over her tiny face.

"Well, I suppose I'll come back tomorrow.", the bald loan shark proclaimed as he stood up.
"Good-bye, mister.", the daughter bidded him farewell as he walked for the exit.

The next day, the bald loan shark came back to the same house, in hopes to collect their dues.
But yet again, the mother was nowhere to be seen.

"This time I am not waiting for her anymore." said the bald loan shark to the daughter.
"This time you are coming with me." the bald loan shark commanded the daughter
and he took her hands in his and walked to leave the house.
"Where are you taking me, mister?" asked the daughter scared out of her young child mind.
"Your mother is avoiding me, so I am going to kidnap you." said the bald loan shark.

The bald loan shark took the daughter to a local aquarium where the daughter saw plenty of turtles.
A minute became half-hour, half-hour became a full-hour, a full-hour became hours, and the day came to its tail.

The bald loan shark returned to the house but the mother was still nowhere to be seen.
"Well, I suppose I'll come back tomorrow.", the bald loan shark proclaimed.
"Good-bye, mister, and thank you for today!", the daughter bidded him farewell as he walked for the exit.

The next day, the bald loan shark came back to the same house.
That day, the bald loan shark took the daughter for walk and stopped at a park
where the daughter ate ice cream and enjoyed the sun.

The bald loan shark decided to it is time to return to the house
On the way, the bald loan shark saw a woman in an alleyway from the corner of his eye.
It was the mother with another man.

"Let us make a detour, there is a lake with a pretty view down this way.", the bald loan shark said to the daughter.
"Okay!", replied the daughter with a cheerful tone.

The bald loan shark returned to the house but the mother was still nowhere to be seen.
"Well, I suppose I'll come back tomorrow.", the bald loan shark proclaimed.
"Good-bye, mister, and thank you for today!", the daughter bidded him farewell as he walked for the exit.

The next day, the bald loan shark came back to the same house.
"Hello mister, mother isn't home. Where are we going today, mister?", asked the daughter brimming with expectations.
"I am not going to kidnap you anymore.", said the bald loan shark.
The bald loan shark lowered himself to his knees so his face is on the same height as the daughter's short stature.
"Your mother is never home, she is no good for you.", the bald loan shark said to the daughter.
"I will take care of you, will you come with me?", spoke the bald loan shark in a soft tone ill-fitting his burly appearance.
The daughter, seemingly sharp for her age, understood what the bald loan shark was trying to convey.
"Mister, you are very kind to me but I don't want to leave my mother, I love her, you see...", the daughter replied.
The bald loan shark took but a moment to gather himself and the he stood up.
"Well, I suppose this is the last time we'll see of each other.", the bald loan shark proclaimed.
"Mister?", the daughter corcerned over what the bald loan shark had just said and chased after him as he walked for the exit.
But alas, the daughter's tiny steps could not keep up with the bald loan shark's strides and she soon lost him.

The next day, the bald loan shark did not come to the house.
But the mother was home with her daughter and they were happy together.
