This game is the sequel of Sweet Middleground:
https://rpgmaker.net/games/11013/

A birthday is near, and Vincent wants to make something. He pushes Antigone to make a birthday cake together. Unable to escape it, she decides to get back at him, with a complicated cake and complicated errands along with it.

Like the first game, it's a simili-VN with puzzles; but this one has some semblance of character animations (see gifs), and less puzzle guidance.
Unlike the first game, this one is heavily comedy-oriented.

Estimated playtime : less than half an hour.

OHHH!!! I'm glad you did a gamepage for this one! >u<
I've played Sweet Middlegrounds 1, and I really liked it! I especially liked the character design. Your style is good! Antigone looks sooooo cute and sweet!
When I saw your entry for RMN's Bday called "Sweet Middlegrounds 2" I was really excited to play it! I was like: "YEAH! A sequel?!"
I like the animations in this one, they give kind of a "living" effect to the characters. I was interested to see how the story continues, but... I'M STUCK WITH THE CHICKEN!!! >o<
Please tell me how am I supposed to take those eggs!!! Maybe I'm very dumb but I tried everything I could think of... T^T
"Antigone looks sooooo cute and sweet!"
This here is one of the most beautiful compliments my work has ever received.

I take all my games seriously, so they all get a page =D and I'm proud of that. And the animations are popular, yes, I'm thinking of a way to make them more viable to use. 'Cause, they were 60% of the whole work this time, and it's too much.

For the rooster puzzle:
1 - further down the map, there's a rolling trash bin that you can push. If you need more:
2 -
The trash bin goes forward 2 tiles per input. You need to offset it by pushing it against walls and street lamps. And if you need more:

3 -
By pushing the trash bin towards the rooster, and immediately side stepping, the rooster will follow you, hence being blocked on one side of the bin.

Like I said, I really like your art style! I would like to see more of it! And more of Sweet Middlegrounds!

That's good! You should be!

Yes, I can imagine... There was a time I wanted to try making all the character graphics myself, with different emotions and everything, and that alone was already a HUGE work... Nevermind animating them... I think I would never handle that. My patience is VERY limited.

I KNEW the trash bin was there for something! I just didn't realize how, hahaha
Thanks for letting me know! I will go and try it then!
I have Severed Waters, with a bunch of busts, too. But it's on the serious side, it's mostly old ugly characters.
And... I'm making a game for the pride event, and it'll be full of cute fairies. But static this time, I just don't have enough time xD. It's still a lot of work, as you say.
Great game!! Does this end after they both reach the party?? Coz it was kinda abrupt. But I'm looking forward to the next game and for more romance between the characters. :)
It was made for the abrupt ending event, so... xD Abrupt was totally the plan.
As far as for the continuation of the series, I haven't planned any more yet, but if a proper occasion comes up, I definitely will. These two deserve some pushing.

Is this a glitch/bug? This happens when Vincent leaving Antigone apartment after they decided to make the cake early in the game. Maybe sprite layering problem? Or is it intentional to make the sprite blacked like that?

It was intentional, it's made to be mildly worrying : D although I do appreciate the report of possible bugs.

Woah, thanks for the fast reply. I enjoyed your game so far btw. The animated sprite really makes the characters look more alive.

Sorry for bothering you, but I got stuck at the ladder puzzle part. After going back to my apartment I found nothing, no hints, and can't even pick up the hammer. What am I supposed to do here?
The "ladder" is actually your garden door.

Ohhh, Thanks again for the tips. At the start of the game I go through the garden, so the event won't trigger since the garden door already opened from inside.
Yeah, I figured something like that happened. I wasn't completely smart with this bit of eventing ='D
A fine game requiring a vast skillset. Congrats !
