Synopsis: (Chapter 8)
After clearing Ravier's Alpha test, you are informed about an impending threat of a coup d'etat by the Caladium Forces. At the same time, you're told of a mysterious illness afflicting students and staff members visiting Valor Academy. Convinced that Black Galax is the cause, Ravier set the party out to investigate the compound, only to learn of a horrifying history that plagues the school grounds, unresolved for 25 years...

Introduction:
Black Galax: Rewrite is a DIRECT sequel to Black Galax: Revert. You will need a completed save file from Revert to play this game. Black Galax: Rewrite has three planned endings and they are only unlocked after clearing the previous ending.

True Ending: Delta
Rewrite Ending: Alpha (Must clear True Ending + prerequisite)
Time Gazer Ending: Beta (Must clear Rewrite Ending)

However, if you've lost your save and don't wish to replay, it is possible to start from a new game with preset character levels, items and etc.

Gameplay Features:
Gameplay will largely revolve around Turn-Based combat, but it also combines elements of Real-Time action Battles and elements of Court Trials to spice up gameplay. While Court Trial will not return, elements of it will remain.

Features:
1. Plot plot plot! (Finally, the ending of the game!)
2. Side Story Quests (Maybe a sequel to Revert's side quests?)
3. Stealthing around - (There may be TOO much Stealth-related missions)
4. Achievements (Yes, I'm adding more)
5. Tons of puzzles (Keeping in tradition with the previous game!)
6. Instead of equipment, you have over 40 'Charms' to customize your characters! (Get em' all!)
7. Can zombies be counted as a feature? - (Yes, there are more zombies)
8. Limit Minute Shop to save your hard earned Gold Credits! (More items are added to the pool!)
9. A 'Gamemaster' Challenge side quest. (Test your luck and skill!)
10. Emergency Techs! - These are special techs that grant you a very specific advantage, but comes with long cooldowns. They are very expensive to acquire.
11. Turn Based Battle + Action Battle System - QTE, Reinforcements, phases...
12. Features about 9 playable characters + Navigator (Navigator?)
13. Exchange/Crafting Shop!
14. Gimmicks, gimmicks, gimmicks everywhere...
15. About ??? hours of gameplay (I can't estimate for this, it's done when it's done!)

Rewrite the New Year~!

New Year, New progress update! It's been a while since I wrote these, but the main objective of writing this post is to let you guys know that, yes. I'm still working on it. I'll also talk about game's progress and how Rewrite works.

Today's update post will not have any images, as most of the content henceforth would pretty much entail spoiler, unless you don't mind. But even so, I prefer to keep it to myself for now :)

The Ending of the Game
Black Galax: Rewrite will contain 3 endings Delta, Alpha and Beta/Gamma. However, you CANNOT choose which ending you will get. Delta is the first mandatory ending that you must achieve. With the appropriate 'requirements', only then can you proceed to the Alpha ending, and subsequently Beta/Gamma.

If I were to give an example, it would be the equivalent of pursuing all three what-ifs path rather than having a collection of decision influences to result in one ending. How would it work, you ask? Well...

Game Progress: Delta Timeline (True Ending)
Currently, I'm almost done with the general outline of Delta Timeline's ending. Which means with some touch-ups, the game is TECHNICALLY COMPLETE with its first ending. But of course, it's never that simple. Before I go there, let's talk about some of the new locations and Side quests added!

New Location: Viscaria City
This city is technically still not completed yet. I still have to think about what to add to this city area. It's likely I'll only come back later to complete it once I start working on Alpha Route.

New Location: Caladium City
Home to Caladium Deus Ex, Caladium Armed Force, welcome to Caladium City! Located to the east of Merritus Island, it's the most technologically advanced city of Cliva! Home to Cliva's International Airport and Caladium's Space Program - Site X. Unfortunately, you won't have a chance to explore their International Airport :(

New Locations: Caladium Site X!
Caladium Site X is the equivalent of US's space program. It's where modules and rockets are sent back and forth from space that caters to the maintenance of Grid Palistia. Which also means...

Difficulty Curve
You MIGHT find the Delta Timeline to be easy. As the bosses here are generally... 'holding back', their true power. It's meant to slowly ease you into the hell that is the Alpha Route! I hope you'll look forward to it! I intend to make my battles spicy and I'll make sure of it!

Side Quests: The End of all Endings
As usual, it won't just be a simple 'Side Quest'. It will have its own plot lines that will connect to the post-game of Rewrite. The side quest tree for this is pretty long, but to keep it short: They can only be partially attempted in Delta Timeline. You can only complete it in Alpha and finish off in Beta/Gamma. Yes, this side quest spans across all three endings. What could it be?

Idea: Passive Bonding Level
In case you're unaware, Rewrite introduces a new mechanic that adds Passive Abilities to each character. When placed in reserve, they will activate their passive ability to aid you in combat. It's simple, not too complicated, but I wonder if I can introduce a way to add progression to Passive abilities that is outside of combat.

The idea I came across is the idea of bonding the characters. Through special cutscenes and events, when they bond over say, a meal, a game show (oddly specific I know) and other things, they gain Bond EXP. Once they reach a new bond level, everyone's passive abilities will grow together as a whole.

If I do implement this, it'll be event base and simplistic. In the sense that since the party will almost always be together, I think it'll be fair to just implement a single EXP bar. Once their bond has increased, their passive abilities will improve too!

Game Progress: Alpha Timeline
I've laid the groundwork for Alpha Timeline and in essence, content wise not story, it'll be an expansion of Delta. You'll face 'new' bosses, new scenarios and new areas to explore! Alpha Timeline will come with an additional chapter compared to Delta.

That's all from me today, I hope you'll have a great new year ahead! To all those who read this loooong progress report, thank you! But the tl;dr of it is, yes, I'm still working on the game, but slow as per usual.

Now back to making progress and I'll see you... Idk, maybe the mid year or something XD

Hello, the same error that I'd encountered in Revert (the one that was fixed) has occured again. It's the same "External Achievement" error.

I've uploaded a separate version called '-EXT'. Check the download section for it.
For now, achievements haven't been added to Rewrite, so there is no need to migrate your achievements over.

However, if you wish to, you can, provided you make a copy first to prevent issues.
Simply copy over both folders 'Black Galax Revert' and 'MyRMGames' from Revert to Rewrite's folder.

I plan to eventually migrate over the achievement folder to the local folders so it can avoid the 'unable to write' issue.

Okay, I've started playing the game (basically contunuing from where we left off in Revert) and being enjoying it so far. However going to some places triggers certain events which are not supposed to happen yet. I believe those will be sorted out in a future release though.
Just curious, but which events were triggered? Was it after Chapter 7.5 or before?

Well, when I returned to Ravier's office right after the intro, he was not there and after a cutscene I was prompted to enter his archive. Also when I left the mansion and entered Pavilion Square, I encountered Reynald and after a long cutscene, it jumped right at Chapter 10. I had completed Chapter 7.5 in Revert and imported the save file to Rewrite's folder.
Hmm... I found the problem for the first archive event triggering. But Reynard's cutscene shouldn't be happening. Should probably do some investigating...

You get the last two parts from the Library. The Chest can only be opened once you solve which books to remove from the respective bookcase. The locations of all the bookcases that you need to remove can be found around the 3 floors.

If you make a mistake, you will need to reset the puzzle. Interact with the glowing book to reset the puzzle and try again.

Both are correct. The bookcases are: 4,5,8,10,12,14th.
Maybe a better hint in terms of how many books you need to take out would make it more clear.

Yeah, unfortunately, you'll need to go through chapter 8 again since it might invite unexpected bugs. So just to be safe, it's better to restart.
Then qhen this game complete, can we transfer our save file from BG: Revert like the demo?

It'll be a while before it's completed. It's not recommended to use the current save file you've finished and replay the chapter once it's finished. As some things might change that will mess up your current save.
