I mist be missing something. Monsters keep catching me. I can't attack them even though I have weapons, because there's no way to equip the weapons. All I can do is get damaged or try to run.

Does it give you the option to pick a weapon to attack with still? If so, the rng might just just be screwing you over, since you can miss pretty often. Another issue could be that if you only have one of the knives as a weapon, since I dont think they were actually made usable yet in the current build. (Rifle, sword *not the rusted one*, and the pistol are the only usable weapons atm I believe
