Like Dandelion, I made this game years ago and never did anything with it.
I made Dead Again in 1 month, working 12 hours a day, every day, NON-STOP.

It's a short game, BUT there is a multitude of endings. There are 2 main ones, but 1 true ending. Try to find them all, I hope you like it!

33rd day. The streets are still crowded with them... and I have about two days worth of rations. Everyone has left. I saw some amaranth right in the middle of the street, growing peacefully. Plants are starting to mask this city. I have about two days worth of rations... and I don't think I'll last that long.

Wow, very nice work! I really like the everything!

Are you the same dev who released a game during the first/second IGMC that had a similar battle aspect where monsters would move towards you in battle? It was a survival sim set in a dark, dingy town and you'd search for scraps and weapons and such. High difficulty, but very very memorable.
Wouldn't have guessed this was rm2k3 since the character proportions are really unique for the typical 16x32 chibi size. Really nice work.
Really wanna play this. Looks so good.

Yessss, I think I know what game you're talking about. No I am not the same dev. I thought I was being clever with the battle system but my good buddy DogsUnderstand showed me that this kind of battle system was a thing already x'P . I have a lot of catch up to do.

Merci! I'll be honest, that project took a toll on me. I will likely never make branching timelines again, so much stuff to draw and modify haha..

Thanks! I'll try to upload the game tonight or tomorrow.

(you can delete this post. Sorry 'bout that)
Ah, cool. It's just the whole zombies and range and custom graphics that made me think of it. XDD

(Also, in future, you can edit posts to add more content - which we ask that people do as double posts kind of clutter the place up a bit. Thanks!
>.<)b )
Here's a small tidbit I remember about this project. I remember finishing it around winter/spring 2013.. and just a short while later, Last of Us was announced.

"Oh... the hero is also named Joel. Wait, what? It's a Zombie game as well!? Come on!"

Just one of those funny coincidences.

Your game looks fantastic! Huge fan of zombie games and as a developer who also makes them I'm excited to try this out.
Graphics are amazing. Looking forward to playing.
Oh sorry I missed those comments!

I'm really happy you liked it UPRC & Cristinicola!
Wowzah, playthroughs! I can't wait to watch those, thank you so much!! =O
I finally got around to playing this.
I can't believe you made this in 2013!
And all within 1 month, holy shit!
Very well done dude! I love the attention to detail here!
Especially with the battle system. I also love the secret boss! (lol!)
Like, the game, is so short, that it'll compel players to find the other endings - because it's so short.

But yeah, like, for Resident Evil fans and definitely Silent Hill fans, there's a lot to like here.
This just feels like a smaller bite size version of those games - and in some ways it's done better.
(Like the battle system feels like Resident Evil: Gaiden, on the gameboy but without the lousy aiming system.
And it feels really good to use special skills like "Big Swing" to try and take down a group of zombies all at once.)

Please make more games Smokingspoon!

The only thing I'd suggest is maybe, change, your "main image" which is currently the title screen on RMN, to something that actually shows the zombies to draw more attention on RMN - Cause the title screen really doesn't do this game justice, it's just the words "DEAD AGAIN". This is a game that people really need to see in motion - This isn't just another zombie game. This is probably one of the best zombie games made in rpgmaker2003.

There's just something exhilarating about seeing all those zombies move in rpgmaker2003 on the screen, without having it slow down.

But yeah - Very well done dude! Please make more games!

I'm gonna try and nominate this one in for a couple of misaos.

This was very cool!

:D Your post is a huge motivational kick. I do have a big adventure game I work on & off.. but will take a lot more time to complete. I might make a another small game though, been thinking about it a lot.

And yeaah, that main image thumbnail... I'm not huge on it as well and you're not the first to think the same haha... But yeah, thank you very much LordBlueRouge!

Edit: Ohhh I though your name was familiar! I played your Steamed Ham game a while ago. Man.. the vehicle bug at the end killed me x'D
Wow! this is one of those games that needed to be released sooner. Congratulations for finishing it during that short span of time, it must have been stressful. The graphics and the music are really good, and I actually got nervous while I explored the abandoned buildings. The battle system was amazing! I don't think I've seen something like that before.

I'm sure I'm missing an ending though:

-I got the endings where Joel died because of the nuclear bomb.
-I managed to escape the street with the bike and then with the truck.
-I managed to escape with the entire group.
-I got the dog ending.
-And the secret one where I appeared in that orange outerworld.

If I'm missing an ending a hint would be appreciated!

Cool game overall! The only thing I missed was something to keep track of which endings I had unlocked.

Thank you very much! Nah, you've pretty much seen everything major lol

And yes, I would've wanted to make a better main menu keeping track of your endings when I transitioned my game to the official 2k3 rerelease...
but like you said, working on that game was stressful indeed and I didn't wanted to work on that game anymore haha....

Though I want to point out that I didn't compose the music. It's from diverse games, but I did edit some of them in slight ways.

Really happy you enjoyed! And played around Halloween too, cheers :D
Man! I would like to say you that your game is great! I enjoyed it alot, i found it very interesintg the way you implemented the engines and the way you design the mechacnis. I really enjoyed it! Even when i'm not a fan of zombie games hehe. Great job!

Thank you! I'm always happy when someone enjoy what I cook-- Your kind words are the highlight of my day :D
Wow, c'est ben cool! I played it only a bit, and I like it so far. The art is fresh, I like that it isn't the chibi type stuff. Et les vieux chars de métro.
