It has been a long time, uh?
First of all, I would like to say that I'm really sorry.
I'm sorry for the extreme delay. I promised a release in time for October/November but that's not going to happen. The game is still heavily WIP. Unfortunately, various things slowed development down immensely.
Apologies out of the way. Now let's talk about updates, about what needs to be done, etcetera.
As said some time ago, the script, the whole story and screenwriting, for AIKA is ready along with its main gameplay mechanics. (and a big thanks goes to Dragnfly for proofreading it and to Zorga for helping me in getting out of some "tough areas"). Those aspects probably still need some fine tuning but they're pretty much done nonetheless. What I'm doing now is working on the game's graphics and also trying to experiment with how the game presents itself and all. Testing with how camera moves, how portraits moves, how to animate this and that... those sorta stuff.
Some work in progress stuff here. Characters' expressions and an example of the "storyboard-ish" placeholders I'm currently using:

Also been working on character designs and concept arts for the game:

The "Yōkai of Mikita" is one of the latest. One of the main characters in the game.
Another thing I'm experimenting on and that I would like to include in the game is voice acting. I've been scouting for competent voice actors and the script itself has been made in a way that would benefit this kind of approach. If you know any good voice actors or if you yourself are and would like to come on board just send me a private message!
I said some other stuff about AIKA (along other games of mine like Karma Flow) in my latest interview with Cap.
If you missed it, check it out! -> https://rpgmaker.net/articles/2635/ <-
(Gotta thank Zorga for the two wonderful backgrounds of these two screenshots!)
So... yeah. So, when will the game be released?
I'm setting the new deadline to the beginning of the new year, 2020.
I'll try to get the game done by then.
Thank you for your patience and please look forward to AIKA!
