Can you escape alive from the dangerous Asendra ruins?
In Inherited Sins, you will play the role of Aryan, a simple traveling merchant who, because of an innate ability, will bcomee involved in a rather dangerous situation. Aryan will have to escape some horrific ruins that were the last resting place of many unfortunates for more than two centuries. The only option for our protagonist will be to collaborate with a very peculiar fairy that apparently has also been trapped in that place.
- Inherited Sins is a game focused 100% on puzzle solving, there are no combats but there are enemies that will make your walk through the ruins something more dangerous. The game is mostly inspired by the titles of Team ICO and the The Legend of Zelda franchise.
- Travel between the physical and the astral plane to solve puzzles and continue advancing in your adventure, but be careful, because the creatures of the spiritual world are too dangerous...
- Thanks to the lighting script (Khas Ultra Lighting) it has been possible to provide the maps with a very interesting atmosphere without losing performance.
Aryan: He is a simple merchant who has been locked in dangerous ruins. Apparently Aryan has done something very bad for what he has been sentenced to die.
Fressia: A peculiar fairy that has been trapped in the dangerous ruins of Asendra. She must collaborate with Aryan to escape from there.

Couldnt get far in this game. After opening the door with the first golden key, game crashed with "Script 'Effectus' line 1906: TypeError occurred. no implicit conversion from nil to integer"
Well, I didn't expect that. I think Mithran's "Picture Bug Fix" script may be the culprit. I'll upload a new version without that script.
The game itself looks cool and all, but I can't get over the fact you named your protagonist "Aryan."

What do you mean? Is there something wrong with that name? I gave that name to the protagonist by one of the characters of The Witcher 2.
It was a race of people who are long dead, but I believe Oathwood is worried about the Nazi connotations that might occur from the name, since that was teh typical standard that they tried to live up to visually (blonde hair, blue eyes, etc).
That said, I'm all for reclaiming the name back from the Nazis and making use of it as both a name and a reminder of a race of people who probably would have hated the link between themselves and the Nazi ideal of perfection. So, yeah, fuck the Nazis, you keep it and make it mean something else.

Don't sweat it though. I'd say the odds someone actually gets offended by the name are pretty low. Besides, it's 2019. It's time for change, right? Help restore the name. As long as it isn't being used with any hateful intentions, or anything like that, I'm all for it.

Finished your game...are there multiple endings? I feel like a lot is left unexplained...or are you saving it for a sequel?
Anyway, overall I liked it, definitely had some great lighting and atmosphere, and the puzzles were not too hard (most were very easy). I also did an LP, I'll post the videos to media once they're all uploaded.

Thanks for playing Kyubey! To be honest, this game started as a test for the lighting script, over time I was adding maps and I made the decision to make it a short game in which the story wasn't so important.
I'm so excited for that LP!

Saw your latest blog post. Have you been having effectus issues, too? I am finding more conflicts with it than normal and the people that made it have disappeared. It's really frustrating.

Effectus is well known for having several incompatibility problems with many scripts, and as the creator disappeared it's almost impossible to fix them.
