TARGET ASSESSMENT/PRECIS: THE FIREBIRD
READ ONLY ACCESS GRANTED

The Firebird is one of several aliases used by the counter-culture media personality that appears to be the de facto second in command of the SoL cell operating in Philadelphia. After much analysis of HUMINT, SIGINT, and all other available OPINT, it is the Activity's opinion that the ultimate purpose of this cell in Philadelphia is staging a terror attack on Smythe square, attempting to assassinate the President, or both. We have no real idea of the time scale, so we must operate on the assumption of urgency.

Patricia Hendrix (again, not likely to be her real name--a reference to Patrick Henry, a particularly quotable and violently passionate founding father, although also just as likely a reference to Jimi Hendrix, the revolutionary premillenial psychedelic guitar legend--her broadcasts are typically accompanied by his famous version of the National Anthem) is an African-American woman in her early 20s. Hendrix is a silver-tongued gray-market fixer connecting the owners of various underground clubs (of various kinds) with various organized criminal elements. Her charisma is spoken of highly, specifically in her almost uncanny capacity for defusing violence where otherwise tensions might spill over into deal-souring killing. Never underestimate the power of being a really good hostess/mediator: at an early age, way ahead of the curve, Hendrix has a small fortune squared away and a LOT of friends.

Not that you should think miss Hendrix shies away from violence against "pigs", mind you. We estimate, conservatively, that Hendrix's cell has killed twenty one innocent people, many of them peace officers.

The identity of miss "Hendrix's" parents has been Reclassified: Ink/Quill Clearance Only and redacted here.

Generally speaking, Hendrix is a primary vector for radical anti-corporate terrorist ideology, addressing her viewers through her "Firebird" persona. There, her audience--UA is the unsurprisingly the country she's most watched in although both China and Japan are aware of her show, and black and/or hispanic males age 18-35 years of age are her primary demo--receives a healthy blend of anti-corporate propaganda and nostalgia for an impossible idealized past golden age of America that might as well be invented from whole cloth. American exceptionalism, and rabble rousing against the corporations that "stabbed America in the back". Wrap that all up in the sentimentalist camaraderie of a war in which no one has fired a shot yet and a continuous, schmaltzy appeal to "intersectionality" and solidarity.

(This is unironically a serious game about serious things, or at least endeavors to be.)

People who openly poll yes to supporting the Firebird tend to be middle class or wealthier, and tend to have liberal tendencies overall. The Firebird's actual followers on the other hand are working class and live as anonymously as possible in the UA in 2076.

If OPERATION KINGBREAKER succeeds fully and OBJECTIVE BRANDYWINE is liquidated, the Firebird stands to inherit command and control of the Philadelphia Sons of Liberty.

"Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord, don't they help themselves, no
But when the taxman comes to the door
Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yeah

It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no millionaire's son, no no
It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no fortunate one, no"
